The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Recieved my SSV wand yesterday. It also came with tubing and a glass mouthpiece. I'm glad I ordered the complete kit as the tubing is much more pliable than what I had and the glass mouth piece is a nice touch. Here's the link to ebay sale.

I have been playing around with a couple of configurations. Tried it without the elbow screen and without. Seemed to work better and use less herb with the elbow screen, maybe the screen heats up and ditributes the heat better. I like the way it works as a mini cyclone bowl with small amounts of ground herb!
I am waiting for a DDave adaptor so the herb will be closer to the heater.
In my case this is even more important as I have continued to use my emergency heater cover instead of replacing it with the stock unit. The main drawback is I believe it puts the male connector farther away from the heater, as you can see it is higher than the top of the EQ.

EQmod2.jpg

Can't say how much it differs as I don't have a stock EQ to compare it to.
I am reluctant to go back to the stock heater cover because my replacement(see below) is more heavy duty and in my opinion less likely to break. (Yesterday I smacked a cup down hard on top of the cyclone bowl. Didn't break, but the joint was froze. I turned off the EQ to let the heater cover cool down and it came apart fine.)

By the way, that's plumbers tape on the connection in the first picture; keeps joints from freezing together!!

Using a modified Pinnacle Water Tool with this setup is a dream:

Draws real easy!!

I'll report more when the DDave adaptor arrives.

@Dr. Soxhlet Can you link us to the seller of that ssv wand with mp and tube?

I'd like to point out that the M2M adapter that @Dr. Soxhlet is using for his heater cover will also do the trick that the SSV wand does, and they are only $34 for the adapter and a bubbler. Only issue might be that the EQ elbow screen might not fit, in which case you could just use two diy elbow screens and make a sandwich.

I prefer silicone tubing over 7th floors tubing. Much easier to clean and is available on Amazon.com. It is also much more versatile at stretching, so you could just wrap it around the outside of the M2M adapter above ^.

I put the glass nail globe right on the heater cover with elbow screen installed in the heater cover.
The SSV wand fits the top of the globe. Plumbers tape keeps it from chipping. Works O.K.!! What a super cyclone bowl !!!!

Looks cooler than it works, but it's always nice to have options if just for fun or a way to get by in an emergency.

Great idea. I'll have to get another D020 or similar bubbler for the extra parts. Seems like that part with the two male ends(M2M) just needs the elbow screen and maybe a "J" hook on top to work right.

Yup, an elbow screen or two if you want to make a sandwich between them. A j-hook or some silicone tubing would fit into the inside of the glass or can be stretched around the outside.

Domed screens are easy to make, just measure the size you need and match it to a socket wrench, drilled hole, or piece of pipe. Then use a pencil/dowel rod to shove the screen in and shape it to a dome.

If anybody was looking at my post, the tubing came and is waaaay too loose on one elbow, but the bag elbow is fine. Little loose on the mouth piece, but not too bad. Buy at your own risk, but I'm happy. Looks so much better.

I ordered an SSV wand and whip from the same link you did, it should be here tomorrow. Now I'm worried that I could end up with a pink one with a green mouthpiece. Still very excited to get it, and the tubing sounds like it should be a happy medium between the stock tubing that I have now and silicone, picking up dust and hairs from my desk.

Has anyone worked out a bag mod for the EQ?
I also ordered a volcano easy valve bag, which is here already, and an 18mm glass volcano adapter from planetvape, which should be here Tuesday. I'll be posting pictures of it and I'll let you guys know how it vapes as soon as I get it set up.

The mouthpiece is sort of weird and it is green. The wand itself had a red spot above the bowl.

Have been enjoying the SSV wand even more with the DDave adapter being delivered yesterday. Looks like it gets the end of the wand at least 25% closer to the heat source this way. If the wand is loaded loosely with ground herb and covered with the elbow screen it really does function as a mini cyclone bowl. Half way through I have been taking the wand out and shaking it to mix up the load, but this step may not be even needed. I really like the way it works(the screens even stay cleaner) and the whole setup is much more robust than stock. It really is a hybrid. I have left my heater cover mod in place for now as it seems to work well and the rig is really solid with that piece in there. I can't recommend these ideas more highly. Spending your money on this fine upgrade makes more sense than replacing poorly designed easily broken glass elbows!

Im getting some teeth pulled in a couple weeks. Oral surgeon said no sucking and no smoking afterwards for a few days or risk a very painful dry socket... Ordered a CPR pocket resuscitator mask for like 7 bucks, hooked the EQ whip directly into the CPR mask. Fan setting at 3..... Now i can just sit and breath!!

Hey everybody! My EQ mods came in last week! I've been meaning to share these with you all for the last week but I've been too lazy to write up a post...sorry.

I recieved a SSV wand, an easy valve bag, and an Easy Valve to 18MM male adapter from planetvape.

The SSV wand is really cool looking, I got lucky when I came to random choice of colors, and before I received all of my mods I was solely a whip and elbow pack guy.

This bag mod completely changes the EQ for me. When I used the stock EQ bag and cyclone I elbow packed with my bags and got decent results (besides waiting 3 minutes for the bag to fill) because the cyclone eats herbs like crazy. With my F/F adapter, volcano adapter, and easy valve bag, I can pack the F/F and leave the elbow screen empty, greatly improving airflow and decreasing bag fill time. I haven't timed how long it takes yet but it can't be more than 90 seconds max even on the lower fan settings.

My roomates love my EQ after giving up on my MFLB, and now they want to use it all the time. This requires me to move it to another room or have them hover over my desk until they are finished with their sesh. Now that I have a decent bag solution, they love it even more and I can just toss a quickly filled bag into their room.

Did you have any leakage from the easy valve?
Once the bag is almost full, wisps of vapor will start coming out. Fan speed 3 seems to fight the pressure better than the lower speeds and holding the bag down helps this but it's barely a problem for me.

I considered trying to make the adapter fit tighter with tape but I can't seem to find a place that this would be easy or make a difference.

I tried something similar but with a different adapter, but it leaked like a sieve, so I think the ridge from your adapter fit better inside the Easy Valve itself. I've had the best results using a Zephyr Ion valve set. The mechanism is different, since the valve has a door that opens and closes. I had some silicone tubing that fit pretty tightly against the valve door and extending into the bag.

Hi, just checking in with you guys on where is the cheapest place to buy some replacement glass. I need glass elbows, the soft flexible silicon tubing.

Ebay has elbows with screens for 8.99 shipped that the best price? I just broke my last backup elbow :(

Where can I buy tubes? I bought some 5 years ago and forgot from where. It was pretty cheap like $13 for 6 feet. Now I am seeing $35

Wow, that is an awesome mod! I might have to get some of those easy valve bags.

I got tired of replacing elbows and went with the SSV wand. Works much better and gives excellent airflow due to the wide open design. The heavy glass is less likely to break also. Very happy with this change.

i just spaced out and after loading .1 of a gram into the cyclone bowl (my usual amount) i turned on the fan.

i was timing something and 1.5 minutes later i realized i didn't put the bag on. i put the bag on for another 1.5 minutes and it was as clear as if i had no pot in the bowl at all (something else i've done. :) ). it's usually milky to lightly milky.

a whole lot of the pot got turned into vapor in 1/2 the time it takes to fill the bag (i was using the slow speed and a bag is full in just under 4 minutes). i inhaled a couple of times from the bag and i got some vapor out of my lungs but not much.

i'm just high enough to find that interesting. i think i'm going to just fill 1/2 bags for the next couple of days to see if i get as high. i'm vaping at 381 F for no particular reason.

what would vaporize last i wonder? some part of the high that i care about? we shall see. :science:
