No seriously, respect.

It takes huge cajones to go into the greenery business IMO.

I really dig the looks of your shop so far T and think the more professional and less head-shop-like operators can make their dispensaries appear, the more likely they are of being accepted as legitimate members of the community. Tie dye curtains and pot leaf shaped neon lights are not the way to go if the MMJ community really wants to be taken seriously.

I had a nice talk with one of the owners of my local dispensaries and he said they've done everything they can think of "fit in" with the surrounding business atmosphere and it's paid off as no one (including law enforcement) has ever hasseled them.

May you have many successful (tax) returns!!!
They have a long way to go, I'm just the landlord. However, I am still proud to be helping to spearhead this kind of legitimate, regulated, legal, cannabis business in my community. I will keep you guys updated on the progress, its going to be slow, funds are exhausted quickly, people with less business experience are making serious moves. Its exciting but caution MUST prevail.

I'm sure Oregon will go about things differently than Washington. It's been a fiasco for some of these businesses. The taxes are just too much for them to make any money. Hopefully the Legislature will make things better and cut some of the tax burden for some of these folks.

Good news ladies and gents, it looks like we have a new player coming in to help things along financially for the original investors. This $$$ infusion means the chains might be coming off the doors tomorrow and remodeling will recommence . . .

From what I understand, Oregon will have the best recreational use laws of all of the current states.

At $35 tax per ounce, we are looking at a one time 16-22% tax (current street value is about $160-220/ounce, yes it varies widely at times depending on what connection I use). I've been up to Washington and walked out laughing at the price per gram in the stores I visited. Not sure if that's changed, but back in November I was seeing $25-50 per gram.

Also, this does not include the fact that we can grow four plants in our homes and "gift" an ounce to friends and family. Basically, think the home brew scene, but with marijuana rather than beer.

I think Oregon is going to be a very interesting state 1-2 years from now. I'm not saying the land of free marijuana, but I think we are on the path to having top shelf product at very reasonable prices.

And good on ya @t-dub, it's very cool to see like minded people make a business from all of this. When all of the dust clears, post up the name and I will support the business if I make it down.

Anyways, the state is inspecting everything and making a few changes, he is working very hard, log furniture is going in, display cases are in, this is going to be a resort dispensary . . . :D

I wish Washington state med cards could be accepted in Oregon. We need to have CA, WA, OR and Alaska accept each other's med certifications, or better yet across the U.S and Canada.

Congratulations @t-dub thats awesome. I'm really happy for you.

EDIT
That's good to know about Nevada.

Fantastic idea @CarolKing . . . believe it or not Nevada does this already so when you go to Vegas bring your card, fill out a little paperwork, and you can shop in their dispensaries. Just bring your vape . . .
