MiniVAP Vaporizer

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
To get big clouds with Teflon core. U need to rip fast an hard an inhale like 15 to 20 seconds on green or red. I was actually getting visual medium small clouds on pink

I get lung busting huge clouds from my teflon core on pink inhaling medium speed for about 7 seconds. It depends at least partly on the quality of flower you're vaping.

Almost there...
So i just did a side by side of my MiniVap and my Crafty!
Do not attempt this if you have to do stuff... Like shovel snow...You going to want a nice comfy chair and a good movie!!

Strain - Headband
Minivap - Small basket, half full on GREEN
Crafty - Half load, Oil pad at 180 Degrees C

Instant thick cloud from the Crafty. Very flavourful and rich tasting but no real discernible traits.
5 Second inhale on MV, nice dense cloud, not as dense as the Crafty but what the hell is that taste!!
Lemony, diesel yummyness!!!

And so it went for at least 5 good rips on each unit. My first inhale was to test the amount and flavour of the vapour.
The discernible difference for me was that the MV just continued to produce clouds and taste great!
The Crafty soon lost all flavour and taste.

The end result was i was extremely medicated from both devices!
They both have pros and cons and both serve their own purposes!
I could live without my Crafty but NOT my MiniVap!

All i can say is:

"I love my MiniVap!"

I really like the GCmV, it's getting pretty flavorful with the experience, you really have to change the way you draw on it. It works better with the small baskets, like on the TCmV.

It's hitting extremely hard. Like seriously, I'm happy I have some tolerance, being glad I know how to overcome the power wave of couch lock because I wouldn't do anything without that strong will to get shit done. Outdo yourself with the MV.

Happy to say that my new TCMV turned up today from Hermes, so I now how a TCMV and GCMV both with the new firmware, I've got a busy afternoon with work ahead so won't be able to test the new TC for a while, but I'll report back with some comparisons after I've had long enough to give the TC a good testing.

I priced DHL first, which is the carrier Hermes uses. I think I was quoted somewhere around $80 to ship from the west coast. I finally chose USPS Priority Mail International which cost me $37 from Oregon
D'oh! I used FedEx and paid an arm and a leg. Serves me right for not asking first, but I seem to lose all patience where my MiniVAP is concerned lol.

I could live without my Crafty but NOT my MiniVap!
I picked up a Crafty to tide me over while my MiniVAP is in Spain for servicing. I love it, but completely agree with your assessment.

It works better with the small baskets,
I've noticed this, too. I wonder if it has something to do with the shallower herb chamber. Perhaps the larger basket is touching the bottom, increasing conductivity.

It's because the load mass is inferior and evenly packed.

Less mass to heat = faster vapor = better distribution of the heat = less uneven/overheating = flavor and efficiency

I have stored my large bowls a while ago and never looked back. I would use them only with bud that is very fluffy and light.

I'v done lots different tech with this crazy vapes an now have found my set up til decarb kit comes. I feed the Herbie whip through cap attach to flexicone. Works great with medium draw. getting good clouds on purple an green. Red is making it foggy. I used a large basket then, took vxl top basket and placed it inside mvap large basket making material stay lower in tc.

Whilst I realise it's early days as I've only had the TCMV (Teflon Core MiniVap) for a few hours, wow, it's instantly different to the GCMV (Glass Core MiniVap), and there's no doubt about it - GCMV produces amazing clouds, but the TCMV tastes much better, that's pretty much the difference as far as I can see it in the first few hours of using them. The TCMV still produces great clouds compared to any other vape I've tried, but nowhere near as thick as the GCMV, but the flavour is very obviously better with the TCMV, and I think/expect that they'll both get you equally as medicated.

The GCMV produces the best clouds I've ever experienced from a vape.
The TCMV produces the best flavour I've ever experienced from a vape.
Both the GCMV and the TCMV get you absolutely wrecked.

I'm pretty baked now.

One thing's for sure, these are pretty much the best vape on the market, IMO.

I think I just pretty much said the same thing over and over again in three different ways.

@Sid - are you using the same temps on both?

@biohacker - normally i would suggest going slowly because I know you run through vapes. but this one truly has a unique signature that I can only describe as more intense. This one is worth it, imo. but read up and make sure you are ready to fumble with it at first to get it the way you like it. the stock mouthpieces are too hot and you will need to come up with your own air path after the lid.

The early stages of VAS.........

My VAS began nearly a decade ago!

That's so awesome, and how lucky am I to be able to try one this saturday?

Hey guys- Just joined today. I TRIED to read this entire thread, but after about 60 pages, I kinda felt like I was up to speed.
I've had the MiniVap since August, and of course like you guys, love it. The only thing I'm not sure about at this point is exactly how much flower to put in the basket. It seems the feeling here is generally to pack it full (but not tightly packed), but for me, ....even though the basket only holds a tiny amount, it feels like bit of a waste for me. After 3-4 hits, I'm kinda where I need to be, so I want to save the rest of the bowl for later. Only thing is...it doesn't seem to cape well at all, powering it up from cold on the same bowl a second time. Do you guys have the same experience?

So the question is....should I pack the basket half full? Looking for that "a-ha" moment where I find the perfect workflow. I'm close, I just need y'alls input on this point.

Thanks!

@splitsurround, welcome to the forums. Which size basket are you using? There are 2 sizes...7.5ml and 15ml.

The 15ml basket nearly fills up the inner cylinder of the MV and is .5" tall.

The 7.5ml size is just .25" tall. I get about 4 good solid hits on green with the smaller 7.5ml basket.

15ml baskets - .5" tall

Thanks for the warm welcome @lazylightning ! Dang, I didn't even know those small baskets existed- I definitely didn't get one with my kit. Seems like just what the Dr. ordered- on to the store! Not sure how I missed that!

So.....is it true that the ONLY place I can buy these 7.5ml baskets is minivap's own site? I'm hesitant to purchase from them due to the many, many instances of slow/non responsive service people on this site have had (I got my Minivap from Vapornation, they were great). Any alternate ideas?

Mod note: Three posts merged.

I've spent quite a bit of time in the past trying to track down an alternate source for MV accessories. The only place I know of is Authorized Vaporizer Dealer. They don't have many accessories listed on their website but in the early days of this forum their name came up a lot. You might try and give them a call.

If you or anyone else locates a good alternate source for MV accessories like the baskets and silicone caps I'd like to know too. I have no worries about receiving my order from Hermes, but don't want to pay international DHL shipping for just a few baskets.

Definitely. Honestly, I'm still shocked that the MV hasn't become more popular and this more available. People keep buying those pax's, I guess.
