Reason I feel vaping can effect lungs just as much as smoking

I just got put on oxygen today and am supposed to carry around a tank of oxygen. Makes me feel like the 90 year olds I see at work. I don't know if the vaping contributed to this. Unlike some others here I didn't switch from smoking to vaping. I quit smoking years ago because I coughed too much and only began vaping about a year ago. Haven't had any cough problem with my UD. I have a DO20 I've been waiting for a wong for and I'm getting an oximeter to see if there's any impact on my breathing.

And do remember that the MFLB is made out of wood, and, if you suffer colophony allergy, may be triggering (depending on wood used in construction).

Jurkone - I quickly became acquainted with combusting with the MFLB and how to stop it from happening and I rarely saw more than a wisp of vapor when using it. I only combusted three times over the span of several months. My sensitivity was not a combustion based issue. I don't use any filtration. There is just something dryer and hotter about the MFLB vapor for me even though I get way bigger clouds from the Solo without the irritation. The sensation from the MFLB is not as 'smooth' as the Solo either for me. BUT - I still love the MFLB for around town. The MFLB is my wife's day vape in the house since she likes quick one/two-hit style sessions and she has no sensitivity issues with the MFLB.

That's true, the MFLB vapor is dryer than others, maybe because of the wood construction. I've felt that too... But it i proves using a bubbler, for sure.
Have you seen this?

So sorry to read that you were put on oxygen.

I smoked joints and pipes for many years. I quit combusting a little over 2 years 1 mo and 17 days ago. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. I noticed an improvement of my breathing and I don't catch every single cold that comes along.

My husband hasn't been combusting for a long time (20 yrs) coughs more than I do. He's around truck exhaust a lot.

My dad smoked cigs for 50 yrs he had emphysema and died of it at 78 yrs old. He did quit combusting at 66 but it was too late for him. He lived with emphysema for 38 yrs.

Sorry that you have to deal with any breathing problems. Good luck with the water vaping. Also low temps but you probably know that. Try using edibles too.

whether you smoke or vape cannabis either way you are still vaporizing to get medicated. allow me to explain.. as example- the heated cherry in a joint vaporizes ( heat releases the compounds) the herb next to it while you draw the fresh air through the heated cherry just like the heater on a vape that the air gets drawn over and then into the herb. so either way you are actually vaporizing to get the effects.

now, the heated cherry is so hot it kills lots of compounds before you can get them into your airways loosing them to the heat flash point so not as efficient as vaping and you inhale the smoke and smolder from the heated cherry as well.

so vaping does the same thing without a super heated smoldering cherry releasing noxious smoke behind the vapor.

vaping is way safer and less irritating.

the cannabis compounds once decarboxylized ( THC) are still big enough to irritate the throat and sensitive airways when vaping, that is the tickle you feel. there have been tests and the thc molecule is to big to use in an asthma inhaler application and causes coughing because of its molecular size.
even more info- the molecules still in their carboxylic acid form ( THCA, CBDA) are even bigger and are to big to be absorbed by the neurons hence why you do not get high ( a neuronal mediated function) when you eat raw cannabis that is not decarboxilyzed.

I cough through any session, with or without water, and get sore throats from overuse. Still, I was coughing up gunk and having chest pains before switching from combustion. I'll take now any day.
I dropped the temp I use, and try to take more fresh air in with my hits, so I've accepted that this is a 'me' thing and deal.

That's pretty cool that you track when you stopped combusting so perciecely to the day.

I stopped combusting about three years ago, but I must admit I do cheat.. I find myself combusting maybe twice a month, usually in social situations. I figure even if I smoke a joint once in a while it's most likely not going to have any major detrimental effect on my health. Besides that, I enjoy it for old times sake.

Hi all.

I'm a frenchie so excuse by advance my poor english :-)
I'm a newcomer when it comes about vaporisation. I've bought an Imag+ just one week ago.
The effect is good (great even), but the taste is poor, it consumes my weed really fast without producing visual vapor and more importantly, vaping affects my lungs like if I had smoked a lot (that I didn't). It's like my lungs are heavy when i'm vaping, it's feel unconfortable and strange. No need to tell you that I have never experienced this with regular joints and that I smoke for 7 years now.

I've also tried two days ago the Da Vinci Ascent. The taste is a bit better (still not great), it consumes the weed slower with a bit of vapor, and still affect my lung (but less stronger).
My theory is that the vapor produced by this two is too hot for my poor little lungs. I think they don't control perfectly their temperature (specialy the Imag+)

I've been'smoking/combustion yesterday because I didn't want to augment lungs pressure and it was way worst when I went to bed, like heavy burn feeling on the lungs. So the Imag+ and Ascent did'nt do well at all. I'll stop vaping/smoking for the next days to help my lungs feel good again.

What do you think of my situation ? I was thinking buying the Mighty. It seems to cool down and extract cautiously the vapor so it could be the solution.

attach a bubbler, bong, water filtration device to your vaporizer to cool down the draw or use a draw tube to lengthen the space of the drawn in vapor/air mix.
