I've used q-tips and alcohol or acetone. I hope that those are okay, but I haven't had any problems that I know of.

cool, thanks for the info.

I was going to go any of those obvious routes but was afraid of damaging the batteries!

caseball2051,
What all would I need to do to clean a bong only used for vaping? And how would that change if I smoked with it occasionally (once every 2 weeks, maybe)? Also, the bong I'm looking at has an advertised joint size of 18.8, is that effectively the same as 19?

If I do get a bong and a WPA, is it important/recommended to get the power adapter to power the mflb with an outlet?

Thanks tons!

Do you guys know how long it usually takes for customer service to reply back after sending an email about warranty? I sent them an email last Thursday and have yet to hear back from them. I had them replace one unit last year and they responded within a couple days. Shortly after receiving my unit, I wrote to them about my screen being loose, I put up with it and hasn't seemed to affect performance. The thing is, I never heard back from them even though I included all the correct info in the email. The other day I dropped the box and the clear cover has cracked where the metal spring is that holds the lid down. Hopefully I don't get the cold shoulder for the second time in a row.

I emailed magic-flight about my defective box on November 8th mid-day and got a reply on November 10th in the evening.

70-91% ISO, preferably 91%. Once a week I put a few oz. in and shake until it looks crystal clear again. You can add salt for texture if its real dirty.

I tried cleaning my old zong bong to use for vaping. No matter how many times I cleaned it, the combustion/resin smell would never go away! I highly recommend getting a new piece and only using it for vapor.

Yes.

Its not necessary but it helps a good bit. The 2 compliment each other very well IMO. The PA/WPA/LB/Bong combo is a totally different (and better IMO) animal than a LB w/ batts.

if youre goign to use it at home really often Id recommend the PA. i only use mine on the go so getting the PA was useless for me. it relaly depends where and how you use the unit. if your considering a WPA im assuming youll be using it at home more often. so id go with the PA also.

i agree with JD, its not completely necessary but i just got my bong and WPA for my MFLB which i already bought a PA for months ago. its an awesome combination. i would recommend getting the PA first to try it out and what not before committing to a bong and WPA.

however, if you're looking for a cheap solid starter bong for vaping i suggest this

i just got the bent neck one in the mail a few days ago and have been loving it. the website has been critiqued in the past for poor customer support but i received my bong within a week of ordering and had no troubles.

Mixed results from my MFLB so far. Often il get burnouts and using without a bong attachment gives me ulcars on my tongue where the hot air flows. Is it common for one side of the trench to get really hot and char grill while other stays ok? Also i'm wondering if the power adaptor might help maybe i can turn down the juice a bit.

i recently started using the LB. i get ulcers or blister inside of my lip after using it for awhile. i bought the PA and the 2foot tube. i hope that helps.
i like the LB. I don't get the hits that I see people get on youtube with it though.

Work with the box a week or two. You will be able to make your box blow clouds... sing, dance... and tell jokes!

Hello

Im thinking of getting a PA for my LB.

What is the difference between a LB with a PA and a dedicated desktop vape?

How does the LB with a PA compare to some of the big names like Volcano and Silver Surfer?

Is the difference so great that I might as well hold on to my money and fork out for a dedicated desktop vape, or is the difference somewhat minor and weighed slightly in favor of the LB when taking into account the difference in price between a desktop vape and just the PA (as I have the LB already).

Also is the PA easy to use with the push-back ring in? Personally Id rather not have to pull it out and risk losing it each time I want to use the PA?

Thanks.

The PA makes the LB a "desktop vape". And the car adapter make it a "car or anywhere near a power source vape" :brow:

The Volcano and the SSV are two completely different vapes, from each other, and from the PAMFLB. This is when it comes down to personal preference. A whip vape like the SSV will hit very hard, but comes up short in the efficiency dept. If you want to use bags, get a Volcano, or even better, save $400 and get an EQ. Bags are good for party situations but they get to be a hassle with daily use IMO. The PAMFLB gives you the ability to pull huge hits (with proper technique) and still remain efficient. And if you are adding it to a LB already, it is the cheapest way to go as well, by far. I've had both a whip and a bag vape (VB and Vapir, not SSV and Cano but similar style vapes) and retired both of them for the PAWPAMFLBFTW ABC123 :D For taste, the PAMFLB wins hands down IMO

Also is the PA easy to use with the push-back ring in? Personally Id rather not have to pull it out and risk losing it each time I want to use the PA?

The false battery on the PA has an enlongated positive nipple that compensates for the pushback ring.

I have the PA with my launch box and love it. The PA allows you to vape face without worrying about battery cycling. It isn't a desktop vape though! Even though it will allow you thick vape tokes it is still only allowing you to consume .1ish grams per trench. This just means you might do an extra trench! I also think it suffers from the same thing as a battery powered MFLB, sharing it with newvapers sucks because of the learning curve.

If you leave the push back ring in you will have to push on the ignition button fairly hard to use the device. I went the opposite way, I took the ring out and got used to using my MFLB without it, with batteries or PA. I hide it in a drawer and only use it for newvapers.

Enjoy!

I haven't noticed any difference in using the push-back ring with normal batteries vs. PA. I've never even bothered taking the ring out of the box!

If you put on the lowest setting does the herb still combust if left without toking or does the temp stabilise? I'm really looking to avoid any risk of combustion. Thanks

Pretty sure its never going to combust at the lowest temperature unless you let it sit for a looooong time. As far as I've been able to tell, airflow still greatly affects temperature, but at the lowest setting, I don't think there's much risk of combustion even if you don't pull at all.

you have to press the button on the end of the battery to get the heat going.

the PA is really great. it makes the LB perfect. the heat is very easy to control and it is very precise as well.
i got the one foot tubing to go along with my upgrade and that is really nice too.
i think i know what i'll be doing tonight.

the tubing is awesome. i'm getting some really big hits with the tube. i'm enjoying looking into the tranche from above. you can really see your herb slowing turning darker.
