I'm not all that happy with the results of fitting my coil to the domeless ceramic that I really like. I hope domeless will either sell coils that fit their threads or reduce their thread size.

Edit: have you cleaned your new dab cap yet? If so, how?

I haven't done any cleaning yet. Maybe it's because the nail is initially SO white, but I took a peak inside the dish and its dirty-as-fuck in there. I should prob look into a proper cleaning procedure myself.

Shipping my whole unit back was going to cost me so much that I have changed my plans a bit. Aubers customer service has been great so far. Super fast communication and also emailed me as they hadn't heard anything from me in a while. I have made a deal with Auber to ship me a new flat coil that I'm paying for. I will test my unit out and if its just the coil, I send my bad coil back for inspection. If its defective and not overheated I will get a refund for the coil. If its overheated then I pay for the coil. Im not sure if I get a discount on the coil if its determined that I overheated it. It did get pretty hot at one point while I was playing around with the temp settings so we shall see. My new coil should ship out on Monday.

So I'm trying to figure out the cleaning too with my domeless.com nail and dab cap. Its gets so dirty after about 15 dabs. The bottom of the nail pools with bklack and won't stop smoking after about 12 dabs. The first time I used it I took about 35-40 dabs without opening the dab cap and there was aboout an inch and a half of black shit from the bottom of the nail going up all around. It was disgusting. I've been using my torch to clean it every 10-15 dabs. What are you guys doing? And is 710 to low I guess if its pooling like that? I haven't changed any settings on it since I got it.

I called domeless and he said not to use a torch for cleaning.

My coil is set to 750. After temp is steady, dab, and then let it burn off until it stops smoking, usually just a few seconds if the dab size is right. After 1-4, and the last burn off, I turn off the unit. After about a week, the smoke-off builds to be too long, so I turn it up to 850, leave it for 30 minutes, let it cool, and scrape out the inside with a stainless steel tool. Then I'm back to a fresh nail with little smoking again. This is working pretty well for me. I enjoy getting only the best of the dab, but it does take longer than a torch and Ti.

I clean my glass carb cap with solvent or PBW. That's why I was wondering how you cleaned the ceramic cap. I wonder if you can't just leave it on during the burn off and scrape it?

When I use average priced shatters I get a lot of black deposits too. Most of it burns off on its own and I scrape it a little with my dabber tool.
When I use the top shelf expensive shatters there is little to no deposits left over.

Ive turned mine up to about 850 and let it burn off but lately Ive just been tossing my nail in Mrs P's kiln and let it sit in there for a few hours. Take it out and its spotless.

I see a lot of differences as well, and not always as predictable as I would think.

Which coil and nail, and at what coil temp do you prefer?

Im switching back to the barrel coil tonight with the nail Auber sells. I feel like the temperature is a lot more consistent with that coil. It may be my imagination but I wanna try it.

I love the 16mm barrel coil with my quartz banger. Broken 3 bangers in the last week though :doh::doh:

Ordered the 710 hotbox with flat coil yesterday.

Poop...what were your findings between the flat coil and the 250w coil in regards to temp consistency? Did temps fluctuate the same on both?

I received my 710 hotbox 2.0 yesterday from 710hotbox.com. No tracking, but the unit arrived at my door within 48hrs of ordering. CA to WA. Authentic RDK-200 with flat coil and uni nail. Cleaned the nail, grabbed some glass and fired 'er up.

....Nothing. No temp change on the coil side. Read through the manuals, settings, etc. Tried different outlets just in case...no change.

I emailed 710hotbox and received a phone call within 24hrs to walk me through additional troubleshooting. Not sure what's wrong, but they (or he) are sending me a new controller and coil with a call tag to return the old to minimize the downtime. Said it was the second DOA he's ever had. I ended the call feeling like a valued customer.

Based on my experience so far, I'd actually recommend purchasing from 710hotbox at $199 over Massdrop. (Or Auber for that matter, but that's just my personal opinion.)

I'll reserve any additional observations until my problems are resolved, but so far I'm impressed....and I'm not easily impressed with customer service.

Many thanks to this thread for all of the info!

Wow, that's awesome! I definitely would have purchased the 710hotbox myself if I could do it over.

As an alternative customer service story: My flat coil paid-for replacement that I had to purchase after a month and a half of normal usage (come to find out) was not shipped for days because Auber customer service thought I requested to have my paid-for replacement held until my dead coil was received by them for the RMA.

I'm sure you, as a reader, are confused by that paragraph. I was too. What I actually requested was for my paid-for coil to be sent with my RMA number and a shipping slip so that I don't have to pay out of pocket to ship a product that clearly didn't long as long as warranted. Then I could just send the old coil in the new coils box with provided slip. I was willing to pay for my coil and have the RMA credit applied to my account pending RMA results, but I was told no. So, I decided to fork over some extra money with no chance of reimbursement to minimize down time... except, somehow it has now added time... lol

Simple enough of a mistake, especially if you are not a native English-speaker. Still, I have heard nothing bad about the 710hotbox customer service and have had personally two less-than-valued experiences with Auber thus far. YMMV.

I wasn't even going to post that experience, but seeing a positive 710hotbox CS experience caused me to. Future buyers should be aware IMO.

Absolutely! People need to know what theyre dealing with, both good and bad.

My dealing with Auber have been superb but I havent had any real problems either so its good to see how they handle that side of things. I hope they get you squared away in short order. I have a spare coil if they dont :)

Haha, thanks for the offer. I think when this is all squared away I will have 2. And I'm waiting to hear back about getting a ceramic coil wired for the RDK200. Hopefully thats enough coils to tame my needs because I'm about done personally investing for a little while lol.

Hi FC!

So I received my unit on monday but i had to wait until the next day(tuesday) to get to use it since my HE Dualti Enail adapter came on that day. Pretty awesome how both came in about 5 days from ordering! I got the 250w 16mm coil to go with my nail. What do I have to say about my set up? ITS FRIGGIN GREAT!!! Just the fact that i dont have to fire up the nail + multiple dabs after the other is already enough to call this a winner! Had some friends over the other night and man did we put this thing to work! EVERYBODY LOVES THIS LITTLE GUY!

I cant really say anything but good things for now though since its only been no more than a week(but really this thing has been awesome so far!!). So I guess we'll have to see how it goes from here.

I started with 710 degrees but it turned out to be too hot so i had to keep puttin it down until i found the right temp. it was crazy cuz I had to dab along every try.. 610 was the winner! lol

anyhow heres how my set up is looking like-----

also got this for on-the-go. hehe :D

Needless to say im pretty happy with this investment so far and the service from the AUBER STAFF has been GREAT! i got this in a week US-SEA!

Once again Id like to say THANK YOU to everyone here..especially you @PoopMachine for making this thread! If it wasnt for this then i would've ended up spending alot more from another company! so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! this has made alot of things easier and safer for me and everyone around me thats for sure!
Well i guess thats all there is for me to say! catch you guys later and happy vaping everyone!

Glad to hear your unit is getting it done. Our little guy is getting daily use and has been holding up like a champ. We have the Happy Daddy Genesis nail on ours right now.
