Howdy folks,

First time posting here -

Been vaping for 10+ years, still have my Steinel Heat gun and 007 setup from back in the day.

Sadly mother nature decided to crack my bong as I stupidly left it out in the garage last night, so I am in in the market for a new vape.

Have not been keeping up with all the latest and greatest, so was wondering if you kind folks could help me out and suggest the 'best' (I know, very relative term) vape, with a water filtration system of some type - available at the moment.

Cheers

JJ

Check out the LSV, EVO, log vapes (nano, UD, HI, etc), and Lotus and then head over to the cheap high quality bubbler thread and get some glass. That's my :2c: At least. Good luck with your journey!

Thats the one!!!

Aint she a beaut!

One of the OG's (funny how this was my first name on Overgrow so long ago too lol)

Excuse the ignorance, SSVUN, but can you elaborate on those options, perhaps narrow it down to one or two?

Cheers

I wish I could but I've had them all (except for an UD & HI) and I want more so good luck with just choosing one. The UD, Nano, and HI are all log vaporizers and the makers are members of this great community. Lots of satisfied customers, you can grab one for under $200 quite easily. So small but so capable of whitewalling the glass. The Evo is a bit pricier but it delivers the goods. It's the biggest of all these vaporizers listed and uses a unique basket setup called an ELB that you place into a 18mm male downstem they call a bamboo. The LSV is a great option and can be found around $170 or cheaper these days. Both the LSV and EVo are pickier when it comes to a water pipe because of their size and clearance issues. These are all plug in vapes unless you have a UD/HI battery setup. The Lotus is a portable flame vaporizer that can play ball with the big boys. You need a jet lighter and some triple refined or higher butane and your in the clouds. Hope that helps!

Look into the Airizer Air, Cloud Evo, and Herbalizer.
They are all good vapes.
Air being portable, works well, can be attached to water.
Puffitup will do $170ish

The Vapexhale cloud is a plug in, with water attachment, I personally consider this the most robust, and cleanest option. It has a simple glass airpath, nothing funny to worry about inhaling. But kinda pricey. $450-650 depending on the attachments.

And the herbalizer is about $700 its fancy and can be used with bags, a whip, or hydratubes if you get fancy with it.

I think all three vaporizers i listed are really strong contenders in todays market. I recommend checking out the treads here and reading more about each vape i mentioned.

..Steinel Heat gun and 007 setup from back in the day...

I think I'm coming from a similar mindset as you. I discovered the Vriptech stuff back in 2000 or so and switched to vapor at home right then. (one hitters and joints on the road for a few years after, unfortunately).

If you still have your heat gun, you might want to look at Vriptech's 'new' (2009?) heat wand. Extracts a little nicer than the heat gun, and it's TOTALLY SILENT. You never realize how loud that gun is until you stop using it. Also, the new bowl and adapter for the wand will also fit your Steinel, so you've got a built-in backup as long as the bowl survives. Downstem for the new package is 14.4 so you can probably use it with any of your existing glass too.

The other thing I'd check out is the VapeXhale Cloud Evo. It was introduced to me by the same guy who turned me on to the Vriptech stuff back in the day, and it has most of the same pros and cons. Not quite the same ritual as the gun/wand applied to a bong, but i've really been enjoying the hydratube approach to things. The day after the Evo showed up, the rest of my plug-in vaporizers went in the cupboard.

Last thing - you should definitely drop Vriptech an email with your story, and ask if there's any kind of upgrade path. I've gotten amazing support from them over the years, they want you to be stoked.

Hope this helps a little.

Answer a few questions first

Portable or plug in?

Conduction or convection

High temps or low temps

Is stealth an issue?

Is money an issue?

How often do you vape?

How much material do your use weekly and do you want to cut down? Or use more and get stonier :science:

If u answer these questions we can help you find the perfect vape for your needs!

Thank you guys very kindly for all your replies, my apologies in not responding faster, just been tied up with my kids bday this past weekend.

lfeejulah - to answer your Q's...

Plug in is fine, I dont require portability.

I believe convection (heat circulation, like in my current setup) is best?

Mid range temps? perhaps to high...

Stealth not an issue, nor is money

I vape at times in the evening every night, sometimes take a break for a week or so here and there.

I dont use a ton, one of the reasons why I believe vapes are so efficient is the lack of tons of herb to get the required effects.

I really feel like you should get the Sublimator, it'll be a similar feel to your heatgun but ohhh sososooo much better.

Can you either explain or link me to the science behind the sublimator....from what I have seen, it seems like combustion...or a really strong heating element (piece of metal) - granted this could all be ignorance...

Also, I dont dab or do any of that (which is combustion) so this would be used 99% for straight herb.

Thanks again

Sounds like a Log vape might be for you...it plugs in...looks nice in the house...and stays warm and ready for a rip...you dont have to commit to a 20minute long session...you can take a hit and go about your business or you enjoy a long session with a log...I have an Underdog i suggest you check out that thread...they are very simple, nice looking, easy to use, conservative and powerful!

The Enano is another log vape that everyone loves!

Im also working on a log design on my own :) but that wont be released for a while!

Look into a log it sounds like the perfect vape for u!

Thanks for the suggestion.

What is the science behind a log vape, say the Underdog or Enano for example?

All glass path, is there metal/plastic involved?

Regards

I believe there is some stainless steel in the mix...but the taste is pure...no plastic involved. Both companies have been runnning successfully for years so i feel comfortabke with the materials used...

I just got a vapolution and WOW

all glass
Use barely any bud
Amazing taste
Only 100$!

Also plugs into the wall...there is a learning curve for begginers but damn its a great vape for the price

I own 2 Solos, an EQ, an Underdog and now a vapolution....if you would like to see them function you can check my instagram

@justvapeclouds

Or youtube just about any vape for a video...thats probably your best bet for making sure you pick the right vape

max

Out to lunch
I'd have to recommend the two home models I've been using for a good while. The E-Nano has versatility (and affordability) going for it- smaller hits available using the supplied vapor stem, and water filtered big ones with the gong adapter. For big, 'hit as hard as you like' water filtered hits, The Cloud EVO gives me all I'm looking for, and an all glass vapor path to the elb/screen.
