I've done it once and fuck man, it hits you very hard. But i wasn't feeling to sure if it's a safe way. I had put it on for not even a second, and the size of that cloud...

Do you only target your flame on the outside of the stem? Like this I don't get visible vapor but it tastes like it should.
If I target the flame IN the bowl (on the glass screen) i get tremendous vapor, but it tastes like shit. It tastes more gassy, however I don't hit while i heat, so it's not actual butane. It does hit me fuckin' hard this way.
Is it right to heat the inside of the bowl or should I heat it through the outside?
+ do you get it clean like this? With me the resin just becomes a bit liquid and flows to beneath.. Or do I have to heat it longer?

I just flame the outside for about 10 seconds while spinning the stem with my fingers.......i also dont hit it while flaming.....very harsh and not great tasting......i almost passed out 1st time i did it......i still have to clean them afterwards because some of the resin is still stuck in there.....i use iso and then pbw.....you could also use vodka or gin instead of iso....

Where I tested it, the resin is gone and only particles are left. Just gonna wash it out later when i'm completely done. From my hit of heating the inside of the bowl isn't much difference, still dirty. So have to test that out more.
But fuck man, I think it's from the one hit of the inside of the bowl that i'm really stoned now
sucky taste but great effect.... Dilemma... I shall test more with heating it only from the outside

Just joined the Solo club! This thread has been a tremendous resource. I have been researching all the different hand helds and finally settled on the solo. Got one off of ebay for $129 too. Just couldn't pass that up. Can't wait to get this thing in the mail. In the meantime I will continue on reading through this thread.

I've seen vids of people torching the outside, near the top where the bowl is working their way down. I saw one where the stem was heated and placed in a water piece and it was a nice hit. It takes a little longer but I like scraping instead of trying to torch it clean. Or PBW if you don't care to save the reclaim.

Yeah I did quite a bit of research before making a purchase. At one point I was close to pulling the trigger on the crafty but I just couldn't justify dropping that much more money. Then I found this thread and after all the reviews I just couldn't pass up the price on the solo. Picked up a santa cruz shredder too and extra stems. I had a volcano a few years back but ended up selling it when I got married. Decided to give vaping another go....glad I did too. These new hand held units seem incredible....so excited about this purchase.

I started using about 1977, and mostly daily since a few years after that. I got my first vaporizer about 10 years ago, but still smoked more than vaped. I got a Magic Flight about 3 or 4 years ago, but that never really quite cut it, nothing like the old Vapor Doc. Not much different then dropping the stuff in the old car cigarette lighter back in the day. Really just toasts the outside of the material.
Then I got the Arizer Solo about a year ago. Right around that time I was getting quite sensitive to smoking and stopped. I think I was getting allergic to the smoke after all those years. It has been over a year now since I smoked at all. The Solo is the best thing ever. I've been trying a lot of more pocket-able units to take on the run and none have been cutting it, though I did just get the IMAG Plus, and it is pretty good, but it has some issues. Closest thing to real vaping in the pocket, though. It needs a better mouthpiece system, but at least it makes real vapor.

Hi Rob,
I was using a FlowerMate V 5.0 for a few months and just recently got my Solo. Love the Solo for at home but I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend the FlowerMate as a great simple portable to take out of the home.
It`ll be what I use as my travel vape and backup for the Solo for the foreseeable future.

I just checked it out and saw the video, that looks really good! Does that mouthpiece screw on? They didn't show putting in the mouthpiece. If not does it stay in pretty good? That is the downfall of the IMAG Plus. And also it is a bit long. The FlowerMate looks a better size.
Years of using the mflb and it was never very satisfying. After I got the Solo, I found I could use the mflb, dump the USED material in the Solo, and get far better vapor the second time!
The IMAG works really good, almost as good as the Solo, but it takes going to highest setting to really get there.

I think both solo and mflb produce great vapor, but meant for different situations. Mflb is much more intimate, solo is soulless but automatic vapors that keep comin.

Yup, screws in nice and securely and as much as I love my Solo the FM V5.0 is really a great portable vape at a really good price point...Has served me very well!

Yay 19/26 Claisen just got here... Really does make clearing a whole lot easier Haven't got a stopper yet so I've been using a male/male adapter as a carb hole. Works a treat
Its a bit unstable on this particular bong since the Solo's on the offset instead of center due to mouthpiece design, but the gb187 + replacement d020-d on the way should take care of that
