I wonder if they will make a pvhes turbo stem with the mouthpiece? Or will the mouthpiece just screw up the airflow that much?

i been using my vortex stem about a day now. Been pleased with it so far, but i noticed it was quite woble in the air. I recieved a free solo o ring with my order. I had idea to do use it with my air and see if it held more secure. sure enough its pretty snug and it hits better now.

So I have been loving my new air, but I ground up some herb (not that fine I thought) and now I am having trouble with the herb bypassing the glass holes and flying into my mouth. The attached photos are from one stem...

I guess I just have to have a very minimal grind? Any thoughts?

With a PVHES stem if I want more air you can get that through your draw by just pulling faster — you really can't do that with a stock stem.

A PVHES stem gives the user options in your draw that the stock stem cannot match.

Sure it can, just lift your stem off the bottom or rock it slightly, you will be able to get more than enough air. But whatever floats your boat, if you like them, use 'em!

With the Air there are so many accessory options. Love accessories, you can choose your air flow.

You may like a tight draw but you maybe like something less restrictive, a more open draw. You can do all that with the Air. But there are the occasion for the need to be stealth, you can do that too.

I love accessories as well. More options to keep more people happy.... Or more options to keep me happy LOL

Now Thursday needs to hurry and get here so i can test the Straight turbo PVHES.

UPDATE: Air is still functioning properly after a few sessions. Happy camper again.

Good point, lots of options is a good thing generally. However, it can also feed that 'grass is greener for them' envy which is not a good thing.

Glad your Air is humming along making vapor.......that's why you bought it, right?

You can make your own. Arizer will probably never have PVHES mouthpiece stems — too costly would be my guess. I modded all my Air mouthpiece stems to be PVHES. It's easy peasy to do and will save you some bucks over buying them.
wish I could, I don't have the tools to do it myself, and if I did, wouldn't know what I would be doing :o

Thanks brother.

And yea your right, the regular 60mm stems with tips work absolutely fine for me. Hell i didnt even think about draw resistance until i was reading this thread HAHA... But hey, if i can make a great thing even better im all for it. Where does it end? Only my wallet hopes it does.

Ain't that the simple truth. Harkens back to the issue of comparing paychecks, very bad idea IMO, it's sure to lead to at least one upset guy.

You're right as well, driving forward trying for better is deep in the Puritan ethic we spring from. So, over the objections of my wallet, I celebrate advances. Even ones I can't or don't take part in......although I vastly prefer to be in on the best available......

Thanks.

The dome screens make my bowl tiny, is that the same as everyone else? It is still good for maybe 3 draws.
I also use the dome screens, but put them in backward compared to @OF. They make a cup that takes up little of the bowl, simply holds the herb away from the air holes.
They work great!

Another 'out of the box' solution! Gotta love it. Bottom line is if you don't order any of Sinclue's dollar screens you can't play this one. Thinking on the "backward compared to @OF" part I find it really funny put that way, I'm usually the guy doing things backwards from everyone else........ I think I like it better from this perspective, thanks.

Don't hesitate, guys, warm up the card, get on board.

Are yall using these screens in the regular factory 60mm stems? Or is this for those turbo stems with a huge hole?

Trying to figure out if i need to order them dome ones too... However i have no issues with stuff going in my mouth. I use a space case grinder and i always thought it ground stuff a little finer than id prefer... But stuff still doesnt come through to my mouth that i notice. A little occasionally makes its way in the stem though but thats no biggie to me.

I do have the turbo on the way, but i also ordered 2 packs of the solo medium mesh screens for that... Or are the domes the better choice?

P.S. Im NOT a fan of space case grinders. Just wanna throw that out there. I own one but have never been happy with it. I gifted my "good" one to a friend (that cost half the price of the space case at a bodega) before the space case arrived. I just figured it would be much better due to the price. WRONG. Metal shavings in my herb, gets jammed up, doesnt collect kief well... Just overpriced for what you get. I know im in the minority there though, most seem to love their space case... Maybe i got a lemon or something.

Its worth ordering a 5 pack of those dome screens to try out. Even if you dont feel anything, I bet you will get a smoother hit with the screen vs without

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but is there a difference between using a round screen vs a flat screen?
Also are the screens really necessary for smaller bowls? For my solo I have always just packed the stems half way and that seems to work fine. Is this not the case with the Air?

Yeah I push the dome flat , perfect bowl size for me. Turn it to green setting and get a couple hits and done. Screen isn't necessary, just a preference if you want your herb more compacted in the bowl rather than loose.

Btw I'm a bit disappointed with my space case too. It's already getting jammed up, my 3 dollar acrylic was just as good really. I dunno what I was expecting though, it's just a grinder

In the arizer 60 and 70mm stems, its very hard to put a flat screen in. These dome screens are thick and also provide more grab. I think thats the primary reason for using it for most people, for a screen. Doming part probably depends on the person. I notice bowls extract more evenly with the dome. Air seems to be alittle less through in extraction compared to solo. Normally the bottom half does not extract as darkly as the top layer. With the dome there is no bottom layer.

They should, have the option, of both.

The mouth piece gives it culture. Naked gives it clout.

My to farthings....
