The area on the adaptor where the wire connects to the fake battery is very fragile. If you carry the adaptor around, the connection of the wire to the battery will come loose and will no longer carry a current.

Have you noticed this with just the Power Adapter, Car adapter, or both?

I think JinkyWells is talking about the actual cord going to the battery. The car or home plug should not make any difference.

This might be relative to the Power Adapter too because I had to send in my PA last week. Whenever I used it the light in my MFLB wasn't consistent or just wouldn't turn on. I wasn't sure which part of the PA was broken but definitely being more careful when I get my new one.

Hey everyone,

just joined FC but i've always come here first for any type of MJ related info since you all seem the most educated/experienced. I finally joined because I need help and figured you all were easily the most qualified consultants. I have a MFLB with a PA and love the deadly combo but now im thinking about getting the WPA and a water pipe to go with it. My big problem is, I'm on a college budget so this new water pipe would need to be less than $100. suggestions?
Here you go Mr. College student. Mine got lost in the mail lol for a few weeks, but others have received it fairly quickly. Customer service is a pain but can you really complain for $20?

thanks VapeNStone, thats exactly what I was looking for lol. cheap, simple and gets the job done. any comments about how yours is? do you have a WPA for it too?

I just received my warranty replacement due to a crack in the lid, and I've gotta say. Nice improvements. Of course the catch, but she also looks to be all stainless inside now as well.

And as for the warranty... Nearly effortless. The sad note is, I have to hack up my old faithful and send her back to the Motherland :/

I stained the old girl with tea from tea I found in our old house when we moved in, and bonded her down to make her stronger like Wonderboy. The chip from where I dropped it trying to hit it while clinging to a damned bluff I was climbing down to get to a natural spring. The seared scorpion DNA from where it got used as a make shift specimen container. OG snicked lid.

Sigh.

Good night, LB. Good night.
Parting is such sweet sorrow.

So now I ask you. Does your love hurt like mine? (kudos if you can pin that quote)

My stock batteries pooped out after 6 months. I found a pack of 4 Duracell AA rechargable 2450mah batteries in the photo dept at Walmart for $10.88 tax included.

Oddly, it was the last of these in the dept. I stashed them behind another pack of batteries and went home to research them. Turns out, they have a low online rating because the users couldn't be bothered to read the directions. You are to charge them before using. Often, photographers buy a pack of these for use in emergencies. Then, they complain when they take them out of the pack and find they don't last very long. Again, these need to be charged before use.

How did they perform?
I started peeling the cover and it practically fell off - used a dab of paint thinner to clean off the adhesive
Using the stock charger, one battery lasts me all day long.
Much stronger batteries than the old stock ones...Vapor pours out in a little over 2 seconds
Very nice...cheap...and available down the street

I too bought these batteries about a week ago, and so far the've far exceeded my expectations! They last MUCH longer than my old stock batteries, which sadly began to die on me! I was convinced that I had a set of invincible batteries, but alas. . .

We'll see how long these bad boys last, but so far I can vouch for the Duracell 2450's!

I have these batteries as well as I could not find the Powerex 2700's locally. Then I found the 2700's so now I have both and I have to say these work almost as good as the 2700's. I actually like the vapor flow with these better than the 2700's as you don't really have a chance for combustion. But I believe I bought these at OfficeMax.

I have batteries for backup but I still see this scene where I'm sitting on my back patio during a winter power outage with my PA plugged into a gas powered generator.

I have been thinking of buying Powerex 2700s, sorry if this has been asked before, but would I be able to use the stock MFLB charger to charge them?

I have Energizers that work extremely well, when I'm not using my incredibly awesome PA
Yeah, I like the Energizers too, but they're HOT! I have a few that come out of the charger at 1.5V. No microhitting here, or you're gonna have an ash tray.

Sometimes I like to dance on the fine line of near combustion, that's how I roll. As long as all of the ABV comes out brown I won't frown.

Just got my PA in the mail yesterday and have a few questions for the vets. I have been using my MFLB exclusively every day for the past year or so. So, I'm pretty good when it comes to using the batteries. Never combusted once with the batteries. But have combusted (if only slightly) twice with the PA. I'm used to pushing in the battery for a good 5 seconds (or until the lid "fogs up") and then taking a long, slow draw. But, things seem a bit different with the PA. So, here's my questions:

1. How high should I crank the dial?
2. Should I wait for the "fog" to appear or just start hitting it once power is applied?
3. Should I draw quickly or slowly? (I think my slow drag might be part of the combustion problem)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

1. That's personal preference. A lot of people on here reported not using it higher than 30% so they could hit it for hours without ever getting combustion while others like me put it as high as 75% to get bigger hits. It depends how hot you want it to run.
2. I never wait for vapor especially at high power. I start pulling super slowly as soon as I press the button and then gradually adjust my pull once the vapor starts coming.
3. This depends on how high the PA is set. If it is low, you're going to need to draw slower but if it's higher you need to draw faster to avoid combustion.

Perfect response! :)

I am one of those people who run their PA at about 25-30% just because it really brings out the flavors. I do gradually increase the temperature to about 50% as it darkens to get the higher temperature cannabinoids. Although I'm fine with not going too high to risk the point of combustion.

I recommend you feel around with the PA seeing what temp you like the best. Try starting lower and then going higher. Goodluck! :peace:

Thanks for the tips guys. So, low heat=slow draw, high heat=fast draw. Got it. So, if I want to pull a big cloud of vapor, I should crank it up all the way, start hitting it immediately, and use a fast draw? Or will that torch it?

You could do that but you still risk burning the trench. I can still get massive hits without the temp super high, you just need to take a longer hit.

quick question, would this bong work with the WPA?

http://www.grasscity.com/us_en/glass-bong-6.html

I know the WPA is a 14mm taper but this is 14.5mm. I don't really know too much about glass-ware items and the lingo so i apologize if this seems like a dumb question. I'm essentially looking a bong that would work with the WPA and is real cheap, seeing as how this would be my first bong purchase and if it broke then it wouldn't be too big of a deal. Someone on FC had already shown me this one,

http://www.gogowholesale.com/pipes-glass_water_pipes-gogo_clear_glass_on_glass_water_pipes.html

but i've heard mixed reviews about the website and people never getting items so im hesitant on buying that one as of now. Links to any other cheap bongs that would work with the WPA from a legitimate website would be greatly appreciated!

To calibrate your PA, I'd recco this strategy.

Pick yourself up a 10 dollar digital multimeter from the automotive electric section of your favorite big box store.

Set it to whatever setting it has for between 2 and 10 volts DC (VDC). My meter has settings in logs of 2 (2, 20, 200), so I use 2, because you want to read to 100ths of a volt (X.XX, 1.23, etc).

Find your favorite batteries and charge them up, and take a reading after it's been out of the charger for 5 minutes. Then set your PA to duplicate that voltage. You may have to go a bit lower than that, because I imagine there's some voltage sag in a AA during 15 amps of current draw (ya think?), which the PA would have less of, if any at all.

My favorite batts are at 1.47-1.48V when fresh, but rested as I describe. That's enough voltage to make microhitting dangerous, and give you a nice constant draw speed that produces nice vapor clouds. Those are the batts i give to noobs and tell them to hit it like a glass spoon and they choke on it

This should give you a reasonably accurate place to start. The mutimeter will help you dial in on the different voltage settings so you can lower the temp to a late bowl level to play safe from scorching.

Hope this helps!
