I am currently shopping at minivap store for decarb kit, puck adapter, and then found minivap Oring filters. It looks like more stable screens for the flexicone. Has anyone ever used it and found any difference with the original screens?
I switched between normals screens and the oring and I much prefer the latter. IMO it keeps particles from making your flexicone dirty. I say get some :)

I don't use the normal screens at all :)

The glass core changes completely the machine, there is so much difference, from draw resistance to vapor output and flavor. I feel like have to change my habits to make the better use of it. I confirm that the taste can "turn" faster on that model. If you have a teflon model and you are satisfied with the size of your clouds, I would stick with it at the moment and not rush for an upgrade.

Wouldn't decarb kit be just as good glass core. I'm getting Teflon new heating system. Think decarb kit will preform good as glass core.

Also the charger for minivap, the part you plug in wall is American version right not European style plug right. I ordered mine from minivap.com

I think it's European style what do I have to buy to plug this thing in

At the moment the teflon core mV seems to be the favorite so you should not worry about your choice. I prefer not to use the decarb kit for maximum flavor. You don't need anything more to plug it.

My cord has a bigger two prong, round pieces with chrome-like tips. An included adapter fits onto that big plug and reduces it to standard US two prong plug

Sweet I bought from minivap.com/usa the Spain main site. Aight so it comes with a American adapter thank God. Haha I was freaking, I gotta lay off these pre work outs. Mr.hyde 400mg caffeine is to much Haha. Thanks guys

Good I was worried, cause glass core seemed be amazing. But everyone seemed to love Teflon. An when I was talking to Hermes they where pushing me towards the Teflon. Seemed like they didn't want me to get the glass core. I have the email. They where talking up Teflon core more than glass.

I bought some of those, 2 packs actually, and the metal that made up the ring part was really discolered, like the machine that presses them was really dirty with oil or something... tried to ISO soak them and no luck, so I got frustrated and threw them in the trash. I sent the miniVAP team a note about that, not looking for a refund since I don't have them anymore to send back, but just so they would know, hopefully they will inspect their stock and yours will come clean if you decide to buy them.

I also have the MV glass adaptors. Those are cool but nothing special. They don't fit through the lid so you hook them to the end of a flexicone+ or in my case I would switch between my stainless steel Herbie whip mouthpiece and the Hermes glass adaptor (which sits in a 14 to 19 adapter) that stays on top of my bubbler.

Hey, question for people who returned to VN after core failure, what all did you send back? Just the core and battery? Or also the bag and any accessories?

I sent them only the unit, charging plate and power cord. I kept the bag and all the accessories. In hindsight I wish I would have pushed it to keep the charging plate and cord. For as long as I waited on the return, I think I deserve it!

As for the glass GonG, I have the 14mm MiniVap adapter as well as the Delta 3D Studio's SonG in 18.8MM.

With the glass you can configure it in many ways including plugging it to the end of the whip straw like this...

You can also simply remove the end of the plastic mouthpiece and insert the GonG into there. I usually use this 14 MM setup when I am out of the house with my PWT but when I'm at home I prefer the @Ratchett SonG because it pairs nice with all my glass and I love how easy the seal is made and broken.

tarting with a lower temp and working your way up would conserve THC by leaving less on your glass even though it takes more hits to extract it.
Actually... that does seem logical. I mean, subjectively it feels like a get more effect when I take those bigger hits of vapor. But it may just be the rush from getting a large amount all at once. It does make sense that if you're extracting every last bit of vapor using the "step up" technique you describe, and less of it is getting on the glass, then more of it must be going into your body.

As others have reported, I too experienced a fairly rapid dropoff in flavor after the first 2 draws (very similar to the Cloud Evo).
To be perfectly honest... I think my Cloud EVO set to 1pm delivers consistently tastier hits than my glass-core MiniVAP. At least, this was my experience. I would rate the old teflon-core MiniVAP first in taste, the Cloud EVO just behind it, and the glass-core MiniVAP last by a good margin.

It makes me wonder if there's something wrong with the temp settings on my glass-core. I'm going to send it in to Hermes to see if they can find any issues.

Just wondering those who don't use the MV lid why not? Is it a performance thing or you just get a better fit to your water tool of choice? Also anyone used the MV glass water tool adaptor 14mm yet?
Although I have experimented with no top, I actually prefer to use the top when MiniVAPing with my bong. I use a shortened flexitube with one of those rubber rings you find on the slide of most bongs. Makes a more airtight seal on the first try for me, whereas I otherwise find myself futzing around with the MiniVAP to make a good seal with just the flexicone.

Finally received my new unit in exchange for the one I bought in August and returned in November.
I can conclude that I never had a fully working miniVap before!! My previous unit seemed to just be overall weaker and the red temperature setting provided what is now provided with green.

Well, I'm glad I waited and got to experience this revelation. I thought I was combusting on red but the taste said otherwise!

By the way, I received a teflon core. Not sure what to make of the arbitrary distribution of older and newer models by Vapor Nation. Shouldn't people with the same faulty units get the same new unit? I for one would have loved a glass core, provided that it has been tested to work and not combust.

Anyway.. now I only have one problem left: the thing takes over 10 minutes, I should say over 15min to get from cold to red. My old unit, even though a faulty one, reached the red temp. in about 6min and green in 5min consistently.

Did anyone get the memo of increased heat-up time with the new heating system or do I seriously have another half-working machine? Any input?

@sdrsh Not sure about your heat up time, sounds excessive. Mine takes like just under 5 Minutes MAX to reach RED temperature. Got my GOLDIE from V.N. in September 2014, been going strong ever since:rockon:

Hey just noticed that when you buy just a core from minivap store that the glass core is €20 more.!?

Almost there...
So more testing has been done with the decarb kit!

From my wife side:
Hotter, makes me cough more, first taste or two is amazing and she tells me what she tastes!
Usually gets it spot on as well! LOL!
Says the effects are stronger, usually she giggles and laughs a lot and then is dead to the world...
Now she just shuts down mid sentence!!

From my side:
Taste is pretty good for the first two hits and then it decreases drastically! Not to a bad/spent taste just very light main body taste. ABV is medium straw colour on mostly Pink.
I also seem to cough a bit more but we are using it dry so that contributes to it.
I get a nice medicated effect, slightly heavier than with the Teflon inserts.
All back pain goes away and i sleep without moving!

Then today i lose the decarb ring!!! It is a very loose fit and just slips in...
So in goes the Teflon insert! I still have the SS small ring installed.
Heat up to Green.
Taste is improved drastically again!!
And it lasts longer!!
Effects are more mid body high medication, not really looking for that so may have to go the RED for the end of the session.

Overall i like the SS/Teflon combo!!
Will be testing for a while!

Same here, except I don`t losing it.
Smaller decarb ring untherneath the teflons bigger one,
seems to be the best combo for a while now.....
good taste vs good clouds, weighted slighty to the taste direction :)
Think thats not bad at all so far.
Almost tested with green setting on WT or the long whip, works fine for me.

this glass core model really is different. it actually performs very similarly to the Cloud Evo in terms of both the massive vapor output and the way flavor deteriorates after ~2 hits... I like to use very small loads in the Evo that I can finish in ~2 hits, to avoid the spent taste. might try this strategy with the glass MV

lazylightning

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
After a thorough miniVAPing, I was fooling around with some part and pieces. I found that the larger end of my 18mm/14mm GonG reducers fit right into the cone portion of the MV chamber.

W0a6qNe.jpg

The reducer's flare sits even with the highest part of the round seal that seals against the MV lid.

lzesy4G.jpg

I put a flexicone+ cut to ¼" and large basket into the chamber under the GonG adapter and was still able to easily push the adapter flush with the top of the seal.

That means if there was a hole in the MV lid the diameter of the GonG adapter just above the flare, the edges of that hole should push on the flare as the lid is tightened, effectively creating the needed seal.

If I had a drill press handy I'd risk a lid to try it out as I'm pretty sure it'll work. How sweet would it be to end up with a replaceable $10 GonG adapter you could shove through the lid before tightening it down? It would look and feel like a lighter, more elegant Cloud Evo.

swjOsAh.jpg

I also popped a large basket into the GonG adapter and found it fit perfectly. I tried loading up a basket and putting it in the adapter without a flexicone...then inverting the MV on top of the basket. Even though the basket wasn't actually in the MV chamber, I noticed no reduction of vapor. The seal was perfect and I got huge clouds.

Now when I don't have a flexicone handy or clean, I'll just drop a spare basket into my reducer and invert the MV!

d15nkZl.jpg

Here's how it works...

After trying it a few times I like it a lot. It's pretty nice to have your basket open so you can see the color of your herb between each hit too.
