Thanks for reaching out to Ploom Support! Massdrop isn't one of our authorized retailers so purchases made through Massdrop are not covered by the warranty.

Authorized online retailers include, but are not limited to www.ploom.com and www.vapeworld.com. The price of PAx just dropped to $199, which is a great deal!

We are happy to confirm whether an alternative online retailer is authorized, just reply with a link.

You can find a shop near you using our authorized store locator: https://www.ploom.com/locator/

Our distributors do not maintain a complete list of locations across the United States and Canada, but if you check out our store locator feature on Ploom.com and don't see a store you know of, provide the stores name, address, and phone number, and we'll let you know if they're authorized!

For warranty services it's not necessary to register your device with Ploom, but it is a good idea to create a Ploom.com account, should you need warranty support in the future.

Warranties for Pax and Ploom modelTwo do not apply should you purchase through a 3rd party reseller such as eBay, Amazon and Craigslist.

Please let us know if you should need any further assistance!

Best,
Carmelita

I thought I'd check with Ploom to verify what Vapeworld told me (that I have warranty, regardless of where I live). Turns out that Ploom does not agree:

"Sorry for the trouble. Currently, Ploom only operates in the United States and Canada, but hope to be expanding in the near future. At this time, we are unable to offer warranty service for international purchases, so we recommend waiting until we branch overseas prior to making your purchase.

Best,

This is highly disappointing. This means I'll have to send back the Pax I just ordered, as I am not going to risk another broken unit.

That really makes no sense. You buy from an authorized vendor but they won't warranty it because of where you live? Why should that matter?

Just my two cents but go check out the Haze. You sacrifice a bit in stealth but you get so much more back in the versatility of the device. The flower performace is on par or better than the Pax in my opinion but you can do concentrates too. Class leading customer service as well!

I'm confused. I thought you were planning to do any potential warranty claims though a US intermediary. On the other hand, there are other choices that will do international warranty service and that a lot of members rate more highly than the Pax. Maybe this is a blessing.

I got the following reply from Ploom after asking for clarification:

"You are correct in that we are unable to provide warranty services for devices outside of the US/Canada. Should you have an issue with your device and want to mail it to your friend in the US to send to us, we are happy to offer services. We can send the repaired/replaced device to your address in US. We cannot ship the repaired/replaced device overseas."

So that's fine then. If ever need warranty service, I'll do it through the USA address.

As for other options, in my book there aren't really any yet. What I love most about the Pax is it's tiny size. Even the Arizer Air is huge compared to the Pax. It needs to fit in a hip belt that I always wear during festivals, and the Pax is already a tight fit. I don't mind cleaning the unit every now and then, and as long as I get the 10 year warranty, I'm happy to buy another one. If anyone knows of any other vaporizers that are of similar size and heat up as fast as well, please share. I haven't found any yet.

Two things, first let me get this straight even though the company has not been around for more than 10 years they won't honor their 10 year warranty if you didn't buy it directly from them? What a total crock of shit. There's almost no real reason I can think of other than greed behind that.

Second, after someone stole my original unit, I've ordered three different replacements brand new off ebay. None of them came sealed, every single one of them was a complete piece of shit. Not one of them entered party mode, some felt flimsy, and even though everything about it looked genuine the fact that none of them went into party mode...

And I had gotten my first one two years ago off ebay....did they just start making them really crappy now? The original one I had was awesome, not so much anymore. Wouldn't heat properly, two of them would enter the blue standby mode even while in mid-use :/

No, not exactly. There are other authorized vendors you can purchase from.

You were probably buying fakes off E-bay. They look very similar to the real deal but they don't function as such.

eBay is flooded with fakes now. 2 years ago however, not so much. They can be very difficult to differentiate from a genuine unit - even Ploom are reportedly having trouble because the fakes are so good.

Genuine Pax still perform & feel the same as they did 2 years ago.

It certainly sounds to me like your 3 more recent eBay Pax purchases are fakes :(

Hi Folks,

This is my first post in a long long while.
The fact that there are so few new posts is a testament to how trouble free this brilliant little piece of engineering is.

I have had my Pax for more than a year and it works perfectly
I took Wizz's advice from the beginning about not cleaning all the time and using the food machine white lube every few months when the mouthpiece doesn't feel perfectly smooth.

Of course you must only push down on the side of the mouthpiece directly above the draw tube to turn it on of off.

Every three months or more I clean it maybe and of course hold it burner side down when cleaning with iso so I never messed up the temp switch.

But you know the whole path is metal and we never were crazy about the taste. So I let my oven and tube look like my pipe, except of course keeping the edges of the screen clean for the draw.

Anyway I use the Pax several times a day and I have only one problem.
After a sesh sometimes I forget its in my lap and stand up sending the Pax and heater cover flying different ways. I have done this a ton of times even on concrete and the Pax is undamaged besides a few dings.

I have rigged a rubber band specially twisted with one loop over the bottom that holds the bottom on is black and doesnt look too bad.
I also applied a 3x1" piece of black sticky grip to easier hold it.

Does anybody else have this problem with the flying oven cover?

Have a great day!

I clean my Pax about twice a week I use it about 6-7 times per day. for years now...I've never used lube.
Oven lid flying off?? Is your Pax missing the small magnets? Or did you mean flying mouthpiece

Did you buy the Pax from ploom?

Perfectly normal. You failed to just plainly say [you dropped it]. If you drop it, the heater cover can fly off due to impact. What I usually due to avoid this is [try not to drop it]

I have lurked here long enough gentlemen, time to speak. Firstly, i would like to thank all the contributors in this thread and throughout this site -it has been an invaluable resource as well providing great entertainment over the years (yes, i have greedily just absorbed all your knowlege all this time without contributing.. Sorry!). I have owned a pax for over two years now and absolutely still love it -for me, its the perfect vape. I decided to switch over to vaping only after ending up with bronchitis monthly (no thats not a magazine) a few years back. I honestly feel like this stealthy lil machine saved my life.
I too have fell victim to the -leaving pax on my stoned lap and then getting up, sending my lil friend flying; flower all over the ground and bottom lid sent under a couch. My black buddy only has a few small dings on it, but something seems to have come kinda loose inside -if i shake it a little i can hear something banging around in there -any ideas what it might be? I mean it still works great, it just kinda bothers me. I dont really want to open it as im not crazy about possibly voiding my warranty, but i might bust out a torx driver soon.
Oh yeah, and I know its been stated before, but the best PAX pro tip is to never let your unit cool with the mouthpiece facing down. Ive gone from having to clean it weekly to cleaning it monthly or longer. Ive become quite anal about it -dont leave my f%#$ing PAX upside down!
