Underdog Log Vapes

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
I had a problem with the male plug from one power supply that didn't really match perfectly with the female end on the extension cords( supply seems to work fine plugged directly into the vape), It felt tight when they were plugged together but would lose its electrical connection every now and then leading to a cold Dog. I switched power supplies and the problem ceased.

What does everyone do with there reclaim from your stems? I have always just cleaned them out with iso and dumped it down the drain. Whats the easiest and most efficient way of using it? Could I just simmer some milk in a pan and put my stems in? Then drink the milk after?

I use a straw. Put it in a capsule or on something you can swallow whole and done.

Do, you vape what you clean with the straw, or do you hit it with a nail and dome?
What type of capsules work best and can I buy empty ones i'm assuming? Thanks

^^I had that issue with the outlets at my apartment. I got the vvps off of Amazon. I got lucky and received the all black one instead of the flames. Works like a charm so far.

I finally stickerbombed my flamed up one after all these years lol. I love the VVPS itself though.

Yeah I've had that kind of issue on a couple of occasions as well.. that's exactly what I meant when I said having a bad connection between cords. Fortunately it hasn't often been a problem and the cords are so cheap to replace that it's a bearable annoyance.

Thanks for the update. Fluctuation in line power can be annoying at times. Usually it's during times of the day, week or year that power demands spike, like when lots of people are running AC units or electric heaters or that local industry is going full blast. A VVPS is an excellent solution, alternatively if you have a battery backup (for a computer, etc) you can run your Dog off of that and eliminate the voltage variations.

Alright Dogs, duty calls.. off to the shop I go. :peace:

LOL I just got combustion with underdog. loaded light ABV probably overpacked. after few seconds I noticed harsh smell and when I shook out the remains it was still burning.... probably the excess sucking pressure caused temp to raise.... That's actually a plus in my book, It CAN reach higher vape temps eventually combustion - but this only happened 2 times in my life... Anyhow this vape still working like a charm.. actually this is my only working vape as of now.

underdog: will drop you an email shortly, seems like I broke all my spare mouthpieces and adapters :p god im clumsy.

Better hit up Ed as well for a wooden stem, always good to have plan b, and plan c!

You can vape the reclaim. Wrap in cotton or "sandwich style" between something fresh. Nail and dome should work. The taste isn't great, but it's doable.

If you go the capsule route, you can use a capsule you already have if you can dump it out and the original contents are benign. That way you can see if it's worth it to you to buy some empties. Or get creative in the kitchen if you can stand the taste. Drop it on a small spoonful of ice cream and swallow. I wouldn't recommend using the "gob" on anything that requires chewing. It leaves a bad taste, lol.

They have plenty of empty capsules on Amazon that are pretty cheap. Different sizes and all. I can't cook for shit, so it's hard to beat the capsules for simplicity.

Hey guys,

In looking at getting either the epic vape or the underdog and was wondering if you guys could compare them or give pros and con's to help me decide. I just sold my cloud evo because I rarely use flowers but I would feel weird without a vape in my home.

Let me know!

Obviously I'm not going to be totally unbiased but I'll give you my 2 cents anyways... and I'm sure others can and will chime in with their own perspectives. :2c:

> I think both are solid Log Vapes and provide similar levels of performance.

> In my opinion the Nano has a slight edge in it's out of the box temperature control.

> We focus quite a bit on the artistic side of things and everything we sell is hand turned and completely unique. I believe this is not the case with the Nano, my understanding is they are a more standardized machine-made (CNC? duplicator?) device.

> Epic ships overseas, we do not.

> We offer a full range of customization options for vapes and limited range for stems.

::edited to add::

> UDs are 12v DC based so have to ability to work on the go with a small battery pack, the Nano is 120v only I believe.

> We're a small mom-and-pop type business and this is all we do so I think we have an edge in customer service.

Here's the tip of the iceberg as far as log opinions go, and I think all of them bring up the UD:

(Excellent post by @CentiZen is this thread)

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/ud-vs-e-nano.13826/

There's plenty more. Really, plenty. It should all be collected into one Best Of thread or something - I'm getting tired of looking them all up! :D

At the end of the day, I think any serious FC'er will tell you that you can't go wrong with any of the current logs. But there are minor, some might say significant, differences that tend to steer people to one of them in particular. The one difference that steered me toward DC is the ability to use a Voltage Keeper with it for more precise voltage output.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it though; you'll probably end up with all three.

Idk about ending up with all of them
I know me personally I'm likely to buy another underdog soon, but I have no interest in the other log vapes. They seem to take the individuality away. Each underdog is YOUR underdog. If you threw 5 e-nanos in a lineup I doubt most people could even figure out which is their own.

That combined with the fact that when you buy an underdog you are supporting an awesome dude and his wife, who in turn give the highest level of customer support.

That's what @Snappo's wood is for!

I would still be able to tell my Nano from another - I had the lightbulb removed.

Even Heat Islands?

One man's (Company's) glory does not diminish another's

This is true, but I was speaking of personal preference. The other logs seem like only downgrades to me. Even if they functioned identically, they would be lacking the hand crafted unique element, with no gain (for me) in return.

Ive never been the type to claim that one thing is definitively better for everyone, especially vapes. When I say things like that I mean it is my personal preference, and I assume everyone else means the same. People may disagree with me and I'm OK with that, but I honestly see no appeal in the other logs. They just seem like plain underdogs to me. Or a plain underdog with an in line lamp dimmer switch. I don't feel like any of the other logs are fine art, just chunks of wood to be honest. And the switch on the enano makes me feel like it is cheep and tacky. I'd rather a nice scientific vvps or a simple sleek wall wart. The other logs feel like appliances to me.

Not trying to offend, just sharing my opinion. The visual appeal of the underdogs is huge to me. I like custom things too. I'm definitely not a plain ash underdog kind of guy either, but my friend has one and even that is cool because it is 1 of a kind not one of many. Part of the reason I want a 2nd underdog someday soonish is to pick another vape that suits my personality and style. I think that is pretty cool. Some may know the crafty is my favorite portable with all its high tech features and hard hits its great, but it would be cooler if it could have been customized. I customize cars, computers, we get tattoos to customize our skin. we wear cloths to customize our exterior. We could all dress in black turtlenecks like an army of Steve jobs, but we value individuality as a species in general. Some more than others. For me being able to customize a vape I use several times every day and know that no one else in the universe is getting the exact same experience...I think that's pretty cool

Edit:forgot about heat island. Its got some soul to it at least :) if your going to have a 24/7 vape on display it might as well look awesome. I'll fully admit the heat islands look classy. I just forgot about those.

First, it's the superlative customer service. Second to none. Next, as stated above, the artwork. My Underdog is still so pleasurable to look at, even after months of it sitting on the coffee table next to my lazyboy. Third, would be the ability to use it with 12 volts. Batteries, wall wort, VVPS, or even a car cigarette lighter to power it with. (my personal opinion-epic/e-nano owners should use their log on a GFCI protected outlet. :o 120volts!:o) Then, I saw where they were made and since it was in my backyard I went with the mighty Underdog!

So those using the voltage keeper, how much runtime do you get? How are you powering the thing. Looks interesting to me. I have a powerhouse portable that I love, but I'd love to have the option to have a portable dog while keeping my Kings Jester home and safe.

Hey Dogs, happy Saturday and all that good stuff.. hope you're all having a good one.

We ran out of Dogs for the monthly Vape Special a week or two back so I've been working on getting some more done and just finished up tonight so thought I'd share.

We've got some nice rustic Maple pieces up now with lots of flecking and even some ambrosia marks here and there. Price is $169 including your choice of 4 stems, the standard kit and free Priority Shipping.

Also up is a limited amount of Claro Walnut Dogs with some real nice markings, most with a matte finish but a few buffed up to a semi-gloss as well. Price is $185 for matte and $195 for semi-gloss and again includes your choice of 4 stems, the standard kit and free Priority Shipping.

I use an HI as well as a UD, and I would not consider the UD superior. Beauty is subjective, but functionally I'd give the nod to the HI. It heats up in 5 minutes and the heater core seems to be better designed and more stable, at least to me. Moreover, Alan's cork on glass WPA is absolutely brilliant. The UD WPA is just OK. No knock on the UD. Just my 2 cents.

That heat up time is nice, but I view 24/7 use as a core function of log vapes, so I never have to deal with any delay.

Why is cork preferable to the glass on glass adapter I'm using now? I love using glass when possible.

The cork on glass WPA is essentially an all glass pathway. Two interlocking pieces of cork just keep the two glass tubes together. One cork piece is tapered to fit into an 18 mm opening. The two cork pieces come apart, so changing the two screens is super easy. Its a simple but elegant design. You can also keep the HI plugged in 24/7 if you want; the fast heat up time just gives you the option not to. The SS cores of the HI and UD are about the same size, so the accessories are interchangeable. Also, I don't think the HI gets as hot as the UD, which does get pretty warm. I'm not saying the HI is way better, but there are some subtle differences that make it worth considering. And @Alan's craftmanship is every bit as impressive and beautiful as the UD.
