So i was bored & wondered over to planetvape with a frown of my face as their stems are never in stock!! I have been trying to buy a stem for over a year now! To my surprise they finally have the PVHES Bent Shorty Turbo in stock!!! There's only 8 in stock currently so hurry up & go order if you want one.

Does anyone know what size screw driver do I need to open the solo? I have so many heads on my screw driver set in my tool box but I can't get the solo to unscrew!
Make that 7 ;)

Can it really be the battery? I've only had the solo for 3-4 months. And aint my unit a new one? (M1Y1) I'm using a plug adapter not a power adapter. Otherwise what kind of battery does the solo use? If you could redirect me to a european site who sells them would be great.
Thanks for your help!

Well it can be, but you fooled me. That's not an adapter, it's a charger. The PA is an adapter (get it to do something different).

So, yes, all that charger does is try to charge the battery. If you're trying to use it or not. If the battery is bad, that's exactly what you'll see.

However (and isn't there always....) other (circuit) problems could also cause this, for instance the charging circuit itself. Or some new failure with the normal circuits. A known good battery would be the next step for me. Absent some resources on your end, either a blind battery change ('shotgun troubleshooting') or return under warranty seem the best options?

Sorry I misread your clues. The advice remains basically the same, ironically.

Hey, don't get all swollen headed over it, it's easy to mislead me......

Solo needs a custom pack. Two 18650s in series with protection PCB. And it needs a special PCB (has to be on the side not top like most are). I've made most of mine, parts from All Battery, but that's not piratical for most.

Brother CentiZen has sorted all this out, including finding extra capacity parts to make longer run time packs. You might PM him? I also understand some Dealers sell his packs, but don't know which. PIU has the factory pack from time to time as well, others no doubt.

It should be under warranty? Is that an option?

@Phonks That's right I was wondering why you don't just send in for your warranty? Arizer will honor your warranty (as long as it's not fake). One year for the battery and 2 yrs on the unit itself. Just make sure you keep your receipts.

The Solo is well made but sometimes they go on the fritz.

EDIT
"Fritz" That's one of the words that I picked up from my mom, she lived to be 91. I was raised with that word.

Hi Everybody,
Well a very solidly built Silver Arizer Solo is charging away as I type this so I`m pretty happy. I`m just wondering if there is a step by step getting started guide anywhere that I can work from? There`s virtually no manual with this thing beyond a how to charge and what the buttons due single sheet...
Any input would be much appreciated, thanks!

Congrats on the New Vape. I suggest you watch a few youtube videos while your waiting. You'll find some great info there and be a master in no time. Just type Arizer Solo in and there is a ton to choose from.

the Solo is a really easy vapes to use. if you just got it let it charge fully then run on the highest setting for two or three sessions to burn off any manufacturer residue. when I'm vaping without my bubbler I'll start at two and work my way up, if I'm vapeing through my bubbler I'll start at four and work up.

It's pretty much that simple. Some like fine grinds, some like medium, some like stickin nuggets right in the stem. After some experimenting, you'll know exactly what works for you! Have fun @happyvapeman

Yup, I`ve been doing that and was hoping that some one might send me a link or two to specific one`s that they know give a good overview...
Some are saying insert stem before you turn on your solo and others say heat it up before inserting you stem ect...
Hard to know which one to follow...

I put the stem in before I turn the solo on even.. But it might need to be warmed up first considering its new, just to make it slide in easier.

There's so little to know about the Solo to get it to perform very well. I suggest you start off with a screen in the stem and a medium-fine grind. Don't pack the stem too much, a lot of us like using the stems (with screens!!!) and vacuum up the bud into the stem, the screen prevents pieces of material from flying up the stem into your mouth/throat. Light tamp down on the load to get it to sit under the rim of the stem bowl, put it in your Solo. Upside down works well and taking the first hit or two upside down (hamster style!) glues the bud together by melting the trichomes and making the load into a "puck" of sorts. Once you're familiar with the tempo of the unit, you'll find that doing fancier stuff like whole nug loads is easier. IME it's easier to get into it stock and get familiar, then go crazy. Personally I almost always put my stem in before I choose my heat level and let the oven and stem heat up at the same time. The Solo does have some conduction to it but also uses some convection. When you first start using it and it reaches temperature, give it another 15-20 seconds before you take your first hit, this heat soaks the glass stem and gives you thicker hits faster. Try around level 3 or 4? The higher heat levels like 6-7 are too much for me dry...

What can I use to connect the solo to my bubbler. Looking for cheap options as I'm in college and broke and really don't want to spend another $25 for a PVHES gong. Any help is appreciated!

Dare I make a suggestion? See the link below. I have both 14mm and 18mm gongs. One cost $20, the other was only $15. Can't get much cheaper than that!!!

I like to use a grommet on the end of the bent stem with a little piece of tubing. Plugs into the Pinnacle Water Tool or I can use it dry with an EQ balloon stem.

Thanks everybody, getting some excellent advice!
Quick question, can I leave the stem in the Solo over the course of the few days it will take me to finish a load? I often take only 1 or 2 hits with my FM before bed and a single load lasts 4-5 days...

Thanks! Any ideas on something I could find at Home Depot or wherever that I could use as a whip?
I have some 1/2 inch inner diameter silicone tubing that I bought at a headshop. Got 5 feet of it for around $7? I only need a piece about 1.5-2 inches to make a seal on a 14mm.

Thanks everybody, getting some excellent advice!

Sure as long as you don't drop the Solo on the stem... or drop the stem... or drop any glass... (looking at you @ataxian!! ) If you leave the stem in while the oven is on over the course of a session (12 minutes is the timer on the Solo) and don't hit it, it will vaporize it somewhat. That's the conduction I was talking about. Easy as taking the stem out between hits if you're planning on spacing them out more than a few minutes. I usually leave the stem on my Solo turned off, ready to go.

While I use my straight stem with a couple three rubber bands at the top (ghetto I is and ghetto I be) I'm gonna try to find me a local blower who'll hook me up as @Dr. Soxhlet suggested. Options are always good!
Since I have two Solos but one gets used 90% more than the other, I was worried about killing my battery on the well-used one. I ran a test where I marked down the number of rounds that one charger got me- 8! This is a Solo that gets used multiple times daily, sometimes left on the charger, used while charging. etc. If there were hard Solo duty, mine would qualify. I'm still in awe at how well it does what it does!
