I get it you don't understand why they restrict the battery used in their unit,=

I find it weird that everyone makes such a big deal out of this, with one extra battery you get a lot of sessions before needing to recharge. I salute the folks that want to fiddle around and find cheaper more efficient options but I don't think you have to slam the company for wanting you to use a battery that they have probably put through a many hours of testing.

I just love the stock air stem with the plastic mouthpiece.

I'm with ya there! I like 'em on Solo even, but think they should make an even longer one (say 100mm?) for Solo. They could get my money if they did......

I get it it's no longer 'all glass vapor path' and all, but the plastic is first rate and up where stuff is cool. I sure can't taste a difference.

Out of curiosity I got one stem with the black plastic mouthpiece and one slightly longer stem with no mouthpiece. Is this the new or old packaging?

I am with everyone on the short stem with the plastic mouthpiece, love it!

These units aren't cheap to buy. Why would you want to risk something going wrong over a $10 difference in a price for a battery? Do what you want it's your :2c:.

They are real easy to charge up inside the unit. I hope the price for their battery chargers come down or they have a sale I will buy one. I would assume one of the online stores will have a 20% off sale in the future.

If I thought I needed one that bad I would go a head and pay the $42. It's $50 just buying the stems up above so paying $42 wouldn't be out of the question.

EDIT
I will go through @CentiZen for a battery, I just remembered he's selling them.

@CarolKing the vortex stem looks awesome! I wasn't even aware it also cooled the vapor more than the PVHES. Noticed they were in stock this morning and grabbed one but looks like they're out once again...

Would you say the draw is similar in restriction to the PVHES?

I cant wait to get the gong and bubbler though to try that out, i wish there was a place in LA i could just go buy the stuff (i know i can get a bubbler, but no gong) I dont want to wait for shipping!

the stock mp can work as a 14mm adapter

that's the new one old came with a 60mm plastic tip and a 70mm plastic tip.

he's identified the exact type used, from the original maker, and confirmed the specs are exceptional
Wish we had more actual 'specs' on the battery, what I saw was product safety testing.
In particular I'd like to know the 'c' value, which is how long a battery retains its upper voltages. I'm curious for my ecig mod, not interested in using other batteries in my Air.
By the way , did @CentiZen actually say his batteries are accepted by Arizer ? I know they're technically the same, but what does Arizer say ?
Apparently @CentiZen is (naturally) very busy, or, isn't paying attention to his alerts, cuz I haven't gotten any real 'specs' yet.
Looking forward to seeing some !
Love this thread, guys, yer the best. Air-heads unite !

The draw with the Vortex stems would be similar to the PVHES mouthpieces. It gives your vapor an even more awesome taste. It's not a quick session as PV states but you can go higher temp wise so maybe that's what they mean.

EDIT
I don't notice the Vortex stem stretching the unit in any way, it fits snug but not too tight.

Ck i ordered a Vortex for the air but i see it's marketed as fitting both units and i know the solo glass is a very tight fit in the air that stretches out the o-rings . Do you find this a problem with your vortex ? Is it hard to get the stem in ? When i 1st ordered my air i received 3 stems with it , the 60mm , 70mm and a all glass solo style that does not even fit my air , it is super hard to get in and i don't use it bc of this .

I was with you up to this part. I agree it would be nice to know the specifics, but Arizer no doubt considers them proprietary (or they need to do some house cleaning...), I wouldn't hold my breath there.

In a like way, I don't see CentiZen as in any way obligated to provide his information to any of us, let alone on demand. For myself, I'm satisfied with his assurances that there are potential problems with some cells, and that the ones he's offering are indeed identical (from the same source no less). Everything else is 'need to know' and while I'm definitely on the 'want to know' list........

Yes it is (common to both) and no I didn't (have a big problem using it).

BTW, the Air doesn't have any o-rings (then again, neither does Solo). There's a soft seal on the top that stretches easily and several ribs molded into the seal below (the 'bumps you feel'). They are much harder material but work just fine I think.

Remember, the first units (like mine) came with a straight standard Solo stem (both shorter stems had plastic tops).

I've been using my new D2 charger, solely. And it takes longer than I thought it would to charge a depleted cell. A full charge from less than 3.5V to 4.2V takes over 4 hours, 4 hours and 38 minutes I happened to notice on the last one.
It makes sense, it's only charging at 500mA. And this is a >2000 mAh battery.

Just a heads up for folks.

I have noticed the same charge times on a depleted cell. Definitely longer than i expected for a charge. But i have 3 factory batteries so i just keep 2 ready to go and not worry about the charge time.

But after reading the above post im a bit worried about using the D2 charger... Not sure how they would know i used it, but im not trying to do anything to void the warranty....

But I also go through all 3 batteries daily, so im not wanting to have to charge each battery one at a time in the unit or pay so much for their expensive charger....I have already ordered over $100 in accessories from arizer for the Air just this month... That was just for stems, caps, extra bats, black skin etc. When its all said and done i could of bought a Crafty....Dont take that the wrong way... I love the AA, but the cost of accessories add up fast.

I really want one of those vortex stems now too LMAO

OK well... sorry ?
Still my question goes unanswered ... does @CentiZen say his OEM Arizer batteries are honored by Arizer's warranty ? I live my life with no lies, and if Arizer doesn't cover his batteries then I guess I'll just use the ones I ordered for my ecig.. just curious, I don't see why they wouldn't, but also see why they wouldn't, if you know what I mean.
ALL THAT SAID, I think @OF and @CentiZen and Arizer company are all GREAT PEOPLE. Sincerely !
To @jojo0420 and everyone: The D4 charger takes just under 2 hours @ 750 mAh to charge a battery that's gone red on the Air. Arizer's charger is 1200 mAh, so expect a much faster charge with that one.
Also, the D4 goes down to 375 mAh when more than 2 batteries are charged at once. Not sure the mAh of the D2, but you said 500 mAh so yeah 3 hours or so makes sense.

Air-Heads.... unite ! :peace:

---> EDIT: .. just chatted live with @CentiZen himself. He says he 'doubts' Arizer would honor his batteries. I asked him about the C value for his/arizer batteries, and he said he has not received an exact value from BAK, but the cells can happily support a 5 amp drain current until they die. He says the burst is 'probably' much higher than that. Well, I hope so. He also told me the Air takes 25-35 watts to operate... good stuff to know. Additionally, he said @OF might know the ohm current of the Air, which @CentiZen guesses is about half of the Solo's 2.2 ohms. Very interesting indeed...

I feel you.. I've also spent a ton on Air accessories (those PVHE stems are pricy) and I am currently waiting to receive my D2 Charger and my second PVHE stem. I went a little crazier than usual because it was my first vaporizer purchase and I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. I didn't expect to hear that it takes nearly 4 hours for the D2/D4 to charge a depleted battery (the Air unit itself takes about half that time) but atleast i have 3 batteries to keep me busy.

This might be a dumb question but, do you guys think that charging the battery in the Air takes away from the overall life of the unit? Like if I had to charge it daily, about twice a day, would that decrease the power or reliability of the unit over a long time?

No, I don't. Those sorts of circuits are well proven and extremely reliable, even compared to other electronic circuits. The issue is battery life. They wear out, by use and over time. They are the weak link for sure.

Enjoy it, we have no reason to think it's not very well designed......as is Solo?

@VANVAS No you don't need to take it off the charge early like the Solo.

I probably had one more session left on the Air and it took 2 hours to charge up. It doesn't charge quickly but that's OK.

Yea i think 3 batteries is what it takes to really be comfortable, especially on the go. Even at home really. I use the Air more than my EQ at home because i can move around, get work done, etc. and enjoy not having to wait on a bag to fill, or have a long 3 foot whip hanging from the table to my seat.... Its just more convenient.... But if i had to use the Air still plugged in... Id just use the EQ. I do like the vapor produced in the bag a little more... It just takes longer and is not as easy and convenient.

A completely dead battery has taken a max of 5:04 to charge to full with the D2, it tells you the charge time. I have noticed around 3 hours charge time in the unit with a dead bat. But with the D2 i can charge 2 batteries at once while using the 3rd without having it plugged in... So even though it takes longer to charge it is still more convenient.

I am curious why it takes longer to charge the Air's bats in the D2 though... The D2 charges my eneloop AAs faster than the charger they came with, and it charges my 18650 bats for my flashlight faster than the other 18650 charger i had.... So i was shocked it took longer to charge these ones in the D2.

Completely different subject.... Im a little sad that i missed out on the vortex stems. I just went to order one and see they are not available. I guess its a good thing on my wallet..... But im still hoping they get more soon..

Thanks @CarolKing ,

Fully charged always yes?
Till the light goes solid and 1 more question ( sorry ) if i forget take off charging , 2 hours for example , since the led stopped to blink ... Is it bad?? Yes?

Leaving your Air plugged in for 2 extra hours is fine, it's got a built-in shutoff when battery is fully charged.
I asked CentiZen about not charging all the way, and he says while it's true of the Solo, it doesn't seem to apply to the Air.

Your D2 recognizes the battery's configuration and adjusts mAh accordingly, slowing down when reaching the top of the charge, in order to 'soak' the battery. Your D2 detects the difference between li-ion, such as the Arizer batteries, and NiMh, like your eneloop batteries. Different charge voltages as well, if you notice.

Ah that makes sense well enough i guess!!

Thank you!

Anyone have any idea if PV will stock more of those vortex stems?
