FlowerMate Vapormax V/V5.0/V5.0S/V5 Pro

I am thinking about the same thing here. I want a vape that is a bit more portable than the solo, so I am thinking about the arizer air for ~$180. Since the solo runs around $130 I would be paying an extra $50 for portability that the solo doesn't have.

I really wish the pro would drop with an $85 price tag. There is alot of competition around the $125+ price point.
Yeah the Air looks really nice but I don`t need portability very often so I`m probably good with the Solo and a FM to back it up for when I`m out...

Which one(s) are you thinking about? The HD has only 5°C steps and will be priced probably equal or higher than the FM5P.
Not thinking (as in considering) of any of them. Just saying that vapes with variable temp control have been available (for half a bill or so) for some time. The Aida has it and is only $45 delivered.
I wonder if that means the pro will cost $125+ when it is released...
Whatever the price is on release, it'll be available for less later on. I'm betting the best price will be found on dhgate (that's the case with the FM V5.0). They have Alibaba pricing with MUCH better shipping rates- even free if you're OK with slow shipping.

You could try the Imag+

About to purchase a V5.0S (upgrading from the MFLB), anything I should know? I know there are new models coming but I don't really care as I feel the three settings on the V5.0S should be enough.

Can anyone link me to the best DhGate seller with cheap/free shipping to Australia?

Multiple temperatures setting is interesting to use the unit with different materials. My Pax has 3 temperatures only too, and it stays one of my favorite !
Todays, I have the The V5.0s and i love it:easy to use and clean , robust, good batterie capacity...
The 3 temperatures are perfect for me ( i use it only for weed).
I bought mine directly from Alibaba. On dh, the seller called tonyG... seems correspond to Ejoy company you can easily contact them on their Alibaba page or Skype them ( after the chinese festival? )
The V5.0s is a safe bet IMO

I have to disagree, the 3 settings on the FM5S could be way better. The blue is too high already and the purple is too close from blue. On my other vapes I start the session between 170°C and 180°C depending on strain.

Having 1°C increments is definitely a must for me. I know many people are fine with few settings and high temps, but low temps are so delicious and so heady, you are really missing something if you don't experience them.

I agree the blue setting is higher than I would like for 'low', but you can tweek this by starting your draw before it is fully warmed up and also by drawing more continuously -- where the continuous influx of air cools the oven down (although it takes a little practice since you don't want to cool it down too much!)

same thing with the pax with higher temperature.
it's true, i use it generally with the lower temperature , with the wahiker's method.
(i use it with higher temp for hash).
Maybe uyou can try to put your herb into a bullets like in the e Pinnacle Pro . It will absorb some degres.?

Finally read the thread, now for my questions.

The portable vapes seem too good to be true. I have ordered this 5.0 based solely on my new, smart, online friends here. I love the pics, teardowns, rebuilds, battery talk, mod talk, reviews and vids. Great job all. I am new to vapes and am sponging up all the info.

1. I am a sporty Canadian in winter and am asking can my flowermate (which i have yet to put my hands on) can go outside in the rain, wind or snow and provide quality herb vaporization? It seems too good to be true to not have to wrestle with a lighter anymore, even to carry one.

edit: ty for the quick responses

Hi,
I`m in Montreal and I wouldn`t be standing outside in weather like today trying to do a hit of vape...but that`s just me!
Having said that, I love my FM V5. I mostly vape at home but the FM has served me well on the go and is a really portable device. Much more so than the Arizer Solo I am waiting for Canada Post to deliver any minute now.
I`m sure you`ll get a lot of great use out of it...all the best!

Hi Everybody,
I`ve got a V5 with the Pyrex stem and I was wondering if anyone has managed to take just the glass part off for cleaning without breaking it? Mine is starting to get a thick layer of resin on it that I`d like to clean off at some point...

Note it is the non S and is single temp.
Don't care about the 'S', but it's supposed to be the V5.0, which has 3 temps. It's labeled as such. The plain V is single temp. I wouldn't buy an FM from dhgate without messaging the seller and confirming it's the V or V5.0.

The battery life (vape session) will be less if you're using out in the cold, but since battery time on this model is excellent, you should be fine unless you're setting your expectations too high. There will be a big difference between session life in very cold weather, vs. moderate temps. Rain and/or wind is not an issue at all.

The glass MP should come off with no problem. It's set into a silicone base within the metal housing. Mine comes off even when I don't want it to, as in getting caught on my shirt/jacket. It goes back into the silicone just as easy as it comes out.

Thanks @max, I`ll give it a try!

I bought a V5.0 from DHGate and it is a single temp...I was under the impression that the V5.0s was the 3 temp model (just checked the Smiss website and they confirm that)...

V5.0 is the 3 temp version. I can confirm that via multiple purchases. As far as I can tell, the 'S' just refers to the silicone mouthpiece, vs. glass. The Flowermate V is the single temp version, and despite any pics you may see on a website, that's what you should see on the box if it's single temp. The 3 temp version is priced low enough that I don't see any point in buying the single temp version.

Well now I`m confused...just checked my box and it says V5.0 on it...:\

Yes @max you keep correcting us about the "S" but last time I checked on Smiss website it was labeled this way. And my Smiss contact refered to it as FM5-S too. On my packaging it's like you said though. Not that it really matters...

To answer @Faulty_Wires' question and complete your answer, I think not only will the battery time be shorter but it might also damage the cells if it's freezing or colder. This will be countered to some extent by the fact the entire shell of the device becomes warm with use. Keeping it in your pocket when outside and not in use should also improve the situation a bit.

So if I'm reading you right there is no V5.0 anymore, without the S? I've bought the V5.0 (no S on it) twice (and recently) and the MP was glass. I've also seen the V5.0S listed on dhgate with 'glass mouthpiece' listed, although the boxes I've seen pictured for the V5.0S seem to show a silicone mp. The info details on this site, as well as alibaba, is so iffy, as far as accuracy though,.

I asked Smiss specifically about the 'S', as far as what it means, and was told 'my workmates will get back to you', but that never happened. As for FM5-S, until I see that on a box, as far as I'm concerned it's just slang for the V5.0 (S or no S). This company needs some work on their model numbers (customer response as well). It's confusing, to say the least.

I`m guessing packaging may have changed at one point but mine is exactly like it`s detailed here on the website:
Packaging my ass. The V was the single temp version, and the V5.0 was the 3 temp version, before there was any 'S' anywhere. Now they're saying the V5.0 is single temp? There are a ton of 'em out there, labeled V5.0, with 3 temp settings. I've got some. And did you notice that they say the 'S' version has a glass MP, while the 'no S' version has silicone? Don't know about the 'S' box, but my boxes saying V5.0 are 3 temp and have a glass mouthpiece. Like I said, they've got some work to do on their info accuracy.

No it's V5.0 for the single temp, V5.0S for the 3 temps and V5.0 Pro + mini V5.0 for the new ones, I think I added the dash myself, my bad. And the other models are Vx.0 with x between 2 and 8 (excepted the models that are produced for Atmos, that is FM3, FM4 and FM7, which aren't called FlowerMate in the US due to the exclusivity deals, but instead Atmos LIV, Orbit and Transporter respectively... but you can find FM3 and FM7 online even if they are not listed on their site while the FM4 is a complete Atmos exclusivity)

Funny quote from my contact "In China 4 is not a lucky number so we don't use it anymore" :)

I`d use this as the point of reference for current production:

No it's V5.0 for the single temp
If that's the case, they're going to piss off a lot of people, since they've shipped out a ton of vapes labeled V5.0 that have 3 temp settings, and others will be expecting the 3 temp version with that model #. The single temp version was just 'V' and they should have stuck with that. Changing the single temp version to the same model # that the 3 temp version had is just insane.

Adding more confusion, assuming the V5.0 is NOW single temp (why even sell the single temp version anymore?), the mini V5.0 has the same naming convention but has the 3 temp settings.

My only concern here is to make sure that new people looking to buy a FM have accurate info on current packaging and model info.
All current production has a glass mouthpiece and this is what the current packaging and model info looks like:

http://www.smisscigarette.com/products/4/1.aspx

Let`s all make sure that we make this as clear as possible for people who are just looking at these now with the intent of buying one!

Assuming it's correct. So far they've done nothing but confuse when it comes to this model 5. I've asked for an explanation from the sales manager on the apparent change from single temp V to now calling it V5.0, which has been the 3 temp version in the past. This amounts to pretty much a bait and switch deal, even though I'm sure they're not trying to screw buyers.

Hello, my first post here. Just would like to know if this is usable with FM (single temp model). Or is there some similar option of such easy connection to USB charger. thanks!
