Finally decided to buy a quality unit after getting mixed results with some budget vapes (though MFLB has a special place in my heart). Ordered from good ol Randy of PIU. Got a solo with an Ed wooden stem for a great price. Can't recommend them enough.

Stoked to be trying out the Solo tonight! Got a special batch to vape with as well. I'm sure solo having the most amount of posts on this forum says something about how good it is. Sweeeeeeet!

Great news, well done. They say it's really hard to stop a man with a well thought out plan, and from here that sure looks like you.

Enjoy the weekend. Remember, work again next week........

Thanks for the uplifting post.

Well my Solo should be here Mon, so I know I`m getting a little ahead of the game, but I can`t seem to find a more condensed 'best of' version of this thread that would give me all the basic info on how to setup and maintain my new Solo once it arrives...
One of the reasons I bought the Solo is because the batteries can be replaced when they die, so I know I`m going to want to do that for sure and any other useful mods would be interesting to know about, but reading through 1306 pages is more than I have time for...

Can anybody point me in the right direction on this?
Thanks!

This thread repeats itself quite often. I think if you go back 50 pages and read forward, you'll fine plenty of good info.

After 24 hours of unscientific testing, I can report, htsghvfdsdhjuf. Burp, they do are working good.
One is M##BE####.., the other M##CH####.., very silvery heater chambers, no brassy color at all. Little black specks on both heater chambers, iso immune, must pick off manually. The biggest bestest difference is where my desired dry temp was always somewhere between 4 and 5, now it is right at 4. You set it at 4 and leave it, and it seems to keep a much more constant temp, perhaps through increased sampling rate. The taste is greaterer when the temp stays more constant, subjectively. Very very happy, and customer service has been top notch.
Off for more enjoyment testing!

I'm with you, I too am a fan of step 4.....higher sometimes if there's water in the game.

You know that enjoyment testing stuff is highly subjective. Very difficult to get useful information from. If you really want to do a good job this phase could take you a very very very long time. Thanks for taking that burden off our shoulders......

Congratulations on your Solo purchase you won't be disappointed. You will save on herb consumption and will be able to enjoy the flavor the Solo gives your herb. Members are right the temperature is constant and it doesn't waver.

Whether you are a medical user or a recreational one, the Solo is very easy to use.

You may decide on a GonG if you want to use a bubbler or a water tube style like the FBomb. You can get your GonGs through Planetvape, either an 18 or 14 mm size. You need to keep checking because often they are sold out. Make sure you buy 2, just in case one breaks.

You may want a wooden stem or GonG through @Ed's TnT, those don't break.
It's a very sturdy unit that will last you a long time. Welcome to the Solo fan club.
You really don't need any extras right away. Just relax and enjoy.:leaf::peace:

I totally agree with @CarolKing when she states that
you can dry vape one temp higher than usual when using the Vortex stem .
Without inducing cough like I would with the stock stems at the same temp .
And it's Not harsher or compromising the smoothness of taste either .
I believe it's the extra thickness of glass implemented , along with the
Vortex chamber .

* Savor the Flavor * should be in PV's selling point .
Anyhoo , got bored and jimmy-rigged the Vortex to my bubbler . ( O-ring )
It helps to have a carb , I will hook it up to the Y adapter later .
Now I really can't wait for their Vortex Gongs to come in stock ...

I've been even using level 3 dry with great results. I may raise to 4 to finish, but not always. Could be the dryness of the herb has something to do with it too. Last summers' crop went from sticky dank to crumbly dry, so that may be partially responsible for my dropping preferred level. Used to start at 5 and finish on 6.
And I love using my $15.00 gong with the D020 bubbler.

@rakka Sorry about the glass good thing DHgate is cheap. But I see you live in Australia. It's probably just as much to ship maybe as to the U.S? It's about $30 including the cost of shipping for me. It takes a while to get your stuff once ordered though. I fell a sleep too early, 9:00. Now I'm wide awake. Using some of the Grape Ape I picked up yesterday. I had to check out 3 dispensaries until I found it.

Using the Solo and the Vortex stem to medicate and hitting temp 5, not harsh. It gives the Grape Ape a wonderful grape flavor (I can really taste grape).

It am looking forward to a Vortex GonG. Hopefully not too long in the waiting. Many of us FC members aren't very patient.

Thanks @CarolKing, that`s a very useful overview!
I`m a medical MJ user and since I`m mostly using tincture, I`m only doing any where between 1-4 hits of vape with my FM V5 at night before bed.

Been doing that for about 6 months now and I have to say that I really like that 1-4 hits a lot! High THC Kush really helps me sleep.

So I decided to get a Solo for a whole bunch of good reasons and am looking forward to experimenting with different temp settings and whatever else makes sense as I get to know it...
The only accessories I`ve got in the works so far are a 10 pack of domed screens that are on their way from EBay.
I`m going to go with dry for now as I get to know my new Solo and I thought the screens would be a good idea.

I`m already getting a lot of great advice from FC Members and am really looking forward to tomorrow`s mail delivery and my new Solo`s arrival.

I`m sure I`ll have lot`s more questions over the next while. Thanks again, all the best!

Hey everyone
Whats the best BATTERY upgrade available for the Arizer Solo???

That 60 dollar 3400mah from planet vape is on my watch list atm.... but something cheaper and or better for the same price would be awesome!

Hello fellow solo people, my beloved solo seems to be charging forever. All the lights are on til 1-4 then 5-7 they just keep on blinking. I have tried the reset method(holding for 4 seconds while charging then disconnect after 10 sec) and I've disconnected the battery to it but to no avail... So i'm wondering if it's the battery, charger or if i just have to replace it which i like to be my last option? Don't want to part with it for too long :D I also use a plug adapter if that affects anything.
Thnx

If you get normal operation with the PA, I agree with you, time to consider a new battery. I have several battery packs kicking around from testing and such, so for me it's a no brainer test to run.

If it were me in your position I'd keep it (replace the battery, not the entire unit) as the new ones won't let you use your PA?

Can it really be the battery? I've only had the solo for 3-4 months. And aint my unit a new one? (M1Y1) I'm using a plug adapter not a power adapter. Otherwise what kind of battery does the solo use? If you could redirect me to a european site who sells them would be great.
Thanks for your help!

So i was bored & wondered over to planetvape with a frown of my face as their stems are never in stock!! I have been trying to buy a stem for over a year now! To my surprise they finally have the PVHES Bent Shorty Turbo in stock!!! There's only 8 in stock currently so hurry up & go order if you want one.

Does anyone know what size screw driver do I need to open the solo? I have so many heads on my screw driver set in my tool box but I can't get the solo to unscrew!
