Any way...I'm sure it's legit......

Not me. I've been in the marketing game for way too long to think that any marketing video is legit. They are produced to do one thing and that is to create sales so there is ALWAYS a spin. Some spin faster than others, some spin so slow that it's barely noticeable while others spin so fast they can become a parody of themselves but regardless of how slow or fast the spin is............it's still spinnin'.

It's real.
I remember reading that it would be less than retail, but as far as I know they haven't disclosed what the retail price will be, and I'm not sure that this is definitive... anyone?
Yeah if you or someone could link to where you saw that it'd be awesome, otherwise I'll probably just wait and see what FC thinks about it in hand.

Living the vape life
Just took another look at the video. There's a white piece of paper on the table, and after the "Let's vape some more" cut it looks like they've dumped ABV from both the hoppers onto it. It doesn't look black to me, but it's hard to tell. If they did plan to do a shot of the ABV like the early usage video, it never happened because it all blew off the table when they turned the fan on. :D

Also, I'm no expert on combustion in small spaces, but if they were burning the load, wouldn't the tip be smoking after each hit? I can't spot anything like that in the video.

Not knowing how the temperature settings work kills me.

As in no digital temperature readout?

They say that the dial has extremely fine adjustment, so I'm guessing the slightest nudge to the left or right would result in +- of 1C change, maybe 2C. IMO, it looks relatively easy to get to the temperature area you wish for.

Ticks (in C) on the temp dial
1: 130
1.5: 140
2: 150
2.5: 160
3: 170
3.5: 180
4: 190
4.5: 200
5: 210

There are no half ticks, you'd have to estimate that. I suggest the GH team implement a half tick if they choose to update Grasshopper down the line.

I have to say, I have no need for this thing, but I follow this thread like a hawk. I don't know what keeps me hooked. Maybe it's the split between the naysayers and optimists, or the fact that if this thing delivers it'll be well worth the purchase.

I feel like we should take bets. 1-3 odds the batter will die in under 10 mins of usage. 1-2 odds it will be pure convection. 1-4 odds it will combust. 1-100 it will live up to the hype.

So you feel that with all of the delays and questionable updates, that no one should speculate to help either validate or invalidate the concerns that many here have? Do you not feel that some of the dialogue that is going on here may actually help those in making a wise decision in future fund raising campaigns such as this?

And finally, do you not feel that there actually is a certain entertainment value that FC offers up here? :brow:

Well said. Seems to me some useful ideas have been exchanged, I've tried to contribute what I know and see WRT the process and the technology.

And it also seems to me that if it's not your sort of discussion, there are others to occupy yourself with. Drift by from time to time and catch up like I'm doing right now.........

That would make sense why no vapor for her on low, and then the clouds on mid/3/170/340F was pretty huge....

Considering that it only takes seconds to heat up, you could reasonably expect to get 3 hits a minute. That would be thirty hits in ten minutes. That works for me.

Not gonna lie, I've been reading this thread on and off for a while because I was doubting the success of this product. After seeing it in action I can honestly say I would love to have one for hanging out with some friends. It looks so simple and convenient.

thanks for that info ... that explains the 3 hits and done in the video.
Yeah 1.5 cc is pretty small. But it is the size of a pen... the design is dope, super stealth I just hope it works well.
.2 packed tight. I can't see it holding more than that.

I'd welcome a smaller chamber since my pax is in the shop my FF is tearin through herb.
1.5cc is actually rather large. If you have a syringe at home take a look at just how big 1.5cc is. Looks like it would hold a lot.

Checking this here Solo stem (12mm dia, 10mm high) I make it at 1.13cc. .2 grams is probably possible, based on that, but probably something more like .125 common?

In any case, I don't rate Solo as tiny and I don't know anyone who can cash a stem in 3 hits.....do you? Maybe I just don't get out enough...... And for sure there's plenty of vapor available in Solo, at least few fault it.

I understood this coming week like within seven days. But you must be right then.

Then again, maybe he was pointing to a upcoming week on the calendar? As in 'this week coming up at the end of September'? Just kidding of course, poking some fun at it and all.

FWIW for some reason I can't view the much discussed video. I'll go back and try some more later, but I gather from some of 'the usual suspects' I really haven't missed much?

Regards to all.

The Solo doesn't allow you to cash it with that low temperature setting.

Agreed, at least I can't. Even wicked up to the top I can't see it killing a bowl roughly like this one in 3 hits? Time will tell.

On their site, it says it will hold approx. 1 tablespoon, I believe.

Now that can't possibly be right. A Tbs is like 15cc, not 1.5. Even a Tsp is five. More than most portables I know of? I'm not even so sure about 1.5cc. really. Looks smaller in diameter than Solo and not enough longer to make it up?

Thank you, sir. Now it works from FC (of course). Better looking than the first guy (with the shades), but not the sort of testimonial I put too much stock in. More experience, less giggles? More meat?

If it's not combusting, IMO it shows some promise. We'll know when some of the regulars get their hands on one, as has been said a few times already.

New info from the FAQ section on their website:

What is the Battery Life of the device?
The battery will vaporize 3-4 chambers of herbs before needing to be replenished.

This means no laws of physics will be broken!

That's good news indeed. I've grown attached to these old physics books, be a shame to have to break in a new set.

Seems to me they should just go back to the prototype configuration then? Normally this is the very sort of thing you work out in Beta Testing, right? Oh.

Still 3 or 4 stems is a full charge for Air, and while it's about the same load size (?) it carries a lot more battery (hot 18650) and uses conduction (widely held to be more energy efficient than convection)?

Fun to watch, still sitting on my wallet, but keeping fingers crossed.

The video really makes me regret skipping my chance to pre-order. I think the video looks legit enough, not that it couldn't be totally unrealistically edited (no way to know really), but I'm sorta excited again.

This is thread is half the reason I log on anyway, so yeah .

You can still use that email they send to sign up with a different email to pre-order...That's what I did.

I had to watch the video one more time after reading a bunch of the comments, which isn't easy for me because those two girls annoy the fuck out of me.

At 2:45-2:47 you can see the ABV on the paper...one looks like it's light brown, the other a bit darker. Kinda looks like tobacco coloured ABV.

As someone mentioned a page back, most shots show the hopper already in the girl's mouths (giggity!) before exhaling. I still think it looks like e-cig vapour, but i'm probably just in denial.

that seems kind of weak, but then again I've never run my Air's battery out.

The only thing the video left me wondering was whether or not it's a sipper. There were too many cuts that went straight to exhale. If they were getting those hits off a really long, slow draw then it won't be the kind of hit I seek.

The reason for the adjustable temp is for the ability to control what benefits and types of high you get from your cannabis. I'm not sure where it is but I do know it is stickied on fc somewhere, a member tracks and explains which chemicals are released at what temp and what those chemicals do to the human body. This includes chemicals being released right before combustion temperature. It's an interesting read.

I no, to me it's for people who are almost might aswell do a bong, and maybe are still smoking cigs aswell, i don't want anything over 190c & never over 220c judging on what this says....

They're probably coughing cause they're "new" to vaping. Most of my friends cough because they got more than they expected because it doesn't normally feel like you're getting anything.. Supposedly.

Maybe they could get some older more 'used to it' users to try it out if that's the case (no disrespect intended)

Really you need to no how it is after 3 months daily use, well i do (i guess/hope they are doing that)

This is a good read. It is about the same information that was in the thread I was talking about but the one you found might be a little easier to follow than the thread I've read on here. The only plus for the higher temps that I can see is if you have real fresh material and it is not wanting to vape that easily. I know I would rather have a larger range to choose from than be restricted in my options. Imo.
