as far as i know it is black but gets silver after using. i discussed this earlier in this thread. as far as i can remember its intended so, so you know you have a brand new elevape with time and opening closing the lid it should get silver... as far as i understood...
The issue is that I have seen pictures of the silver ring attached to the unit, and seen it removed in pictures. So I think it is something else...

yes i am speaking about the silver ring it is holding the screen... it should loose its color with anscrewing screwing the lid...but maybe i am wrong...

My clouds depend on different variables (like everyone else) but I'm a newb with this device. There was one day that I got great clouds and other days it's just wispy. That one day, It's when I draw fast and hard is where I get more vapor. (I got super excited and went straight to my iPad to encourage others to buy) But some days, it doesn't seem to produce too much visible vapor. I'm OCD, so if things are missing, my mind plays tricks on me and I start having doubts. Just wanted it if it is supposed to be included. Appreciate the feedback btka.

Okay, I think there is a little confusion going on here. The silver ring that screws in to hold the screen is under the herb chamber, just above the coil. The silver ring mentioned as to how high your herbs should be in the herb chamber does not move or hold a screen in place. It is only silver due to the lid being removed and replaced, which over time will wear the black coating in that area, which in turn makes it look like a silver ring.

I got to take mine apart and check it out. It's been hectic at work this week so might be a weekend evaluation. Once I take pictures of mine and post, the FC community does a good job of giving it to me straight. I won't derail this thread til I show pictures.

The orange O-ring is made of a softer silicone, that allows the lid to be opened and turned easier. If you have the stir lid attachment, the orange o-ring is necessary.

I've never used my orange o rings, mine turns perfectly fine as is, they break in. I turn mine all the time, stir lid or no

@mixchu69 the silver ring for bowl loading will develop over time the more you turn the lid. He just means fill the bowl to the edge, you can see where the lid fits in, so fill to that little ledge and not any over.

With a full pack, decent grind, dry material, clouds are pretty huge without a primer puff on 350 (or lower depending on your setup). With a smaller load and/or corset grind, you can often get smaller clouds or no clouds at all, but still great effects. Also dont forget to try a full stir between each hit for best effects, it's also really cool to see how green it still is after a massive cloud!

Breathe. Use about the same amount as you do in the ENano... check that out, then try a little more each time until you get diminishing returns..

Don't sweat the small stuff, until you get used to the function. You will love it. :)

Do make sure you have a good seal. My mouthpiece leaks a bit if I don't really push it in, so I have been going native. The lid can "leak" if you don't twist it down properly or push it down...you can hear air flowing in. This diminishes the effectiveness, clouds etc....make sure you have a good seal. I need one of those orange o rings, I guess.

have been having great medical sessions trying to figure out the perfect way to use this vape. I think I am almost there, but will keep trying :)

Finally, you may want to hold off modifying things until you get the hang of it. Joe really worked this thing over devoping it, so I have to trust his judgement on operation, at least at first! I removed my second screen, put in on the great advice of the good Doctor, and things got easier. I will put it back once I am sure I really know I am doing things 100%.

EDIT: ANYONE KNOW what the size of the mouthpiece O ring is???? I need to replace mine, obviously and there wasn't one in the kit. (Also no orange ring). Joe, I am happy to buy some at the hardware store!

I'd suggest contacting joe about buying the old delrin mouthpiece, if they have any left. It fits much better and has a wider hole for airflow. (Also I never use mouthpiece screens)

Orange o-rings are for higher-temperature use than black, that's interesting that it's softer as well.

My Elevape arrived from VaporNation a bit ago. It's charging now, and should be ready in about 4 hours. I can wait.....my 5 -year-old grandson is here anyway, and I'd rather let his parents explain the use of Cannabis. :)

I tried puffing on it before charging, and didn't see the LED light up. Hopefully it wasn't so low that it will affect battery performance or life, as I thought Lithium batteries were supposed to be shipped in a charged state.

It does have the Orange o-ring installed.

I think that a nice feature to the software would be being able to change the drawing time. This way people that want to take big rips would be able to make it longer or people with some lungs problems can make it shorter.

It would be awesome being able to configurate that too. What you think @Ipuffusa ?

I'm hoping I can get some advice on 2 issues with my new Elevape.

1) After 30 minutes of charging, the LED turned green. Assuming it was an error, I unplugged it, and immediately plugged it back in. After an additional 5 hours, it is still yellow. If it doesn't go green, will the "flash" operation in the software fix that'?
2) I attempted to download the software, but stopped it because of a virus warning. Is this just a McAfee error, perhaps because the file name contains like 2 extensions (filename.3.zip).....note that if I'm told to go ahead, I still may not do it; I vape, thus I may get (slightly) paranoid at times :)

Any thoughts?

@RelaxedNow Maybe try downloading the original app, this is what I use, personal preference.

Then try doing a "soft reset" on your unit.
This is simple to do, and it will reset your unit which should fix your issue.

To Soft Reset:
1-Do not plug in your Elevape to your computer.
2-open which ever version of the app you have.
3-crank all 3 temps to max temperature (450F on my app)
4-plug your Elevape into the computer.

Your are done. The unit has now been reset, and the app should automatically reset the Elevape to the previously preset 3 temperatures.

I hope this helps my friend!:)

***EDIT IN***
@mixchu69
The light will turn from green to orange if you leave it plugged in too long, then it will turn green and repeat doing this.

The Elevape goes into trickle charge mode at around 97-99% to avoid over charging the battery.
If your light was green then turned orange, you are fully charged.
As long as the battery meter is at almost full charge, on the last line flashing it is fully charged. The ESV will never reach all bars full on the app. This is to protect the battery and electronics.

People in this thread told me the color of the light is not important. It's actually shown accurately when you download the program. It works on my 2008 OG MacBook I don't believe it still works to this day. Sorry, but can't help with a pc.

@Vape Dr. , thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean by "original" app? I'm trying to download off ipuff's site. Is there another link somewhere on their site?
Edit: OH, NEVER MIND.....I figured it out. There is an old and a new website, each with a pdifferent file.
EDIT #2: yeah, McAfee is warning me on the original file also....I'm thinking there's a good chance that McAfee warns on all exe and zip files. But, I'm not sure I want to test that theory on my pc! I think I'll just try it out without changing temps, until I talk with ipuff.

I got my new mouthpiece today... actually, TWO of them, and a new cleaning brush & a dab tool!

That's great customer service, really! and, the new mouthpiece is a good TIGHT fit, (had to hammer it in a bit), and no more leakage... better air flow! works better. :)

Unfortunately, on top of the McAfee warning on the app download, my new ESV seems to be DOA.....no heat whatsoever. This sucks!

I've read this whole thread, and when I saw posts about flawed units, I figured "nah, that problem is not typical, and won't happen to me." Apparently, I was wrong, at least on the latter if not the former.

My Firefly is looking pretty sexy right about now.

Joe will take care of you, no question. Before you go blaming the vape....if you can try a new cable before you call him in the morning, it might help. It did for me!

You're right....I shouldn't blame anything just yet, since I don't know anything about it. I'm still hoping that the flash function will fix it. I don't see how the cable could be the issue though, as it did charge, and I haven't yet tried the app. I'll have to talk with Joe first, to see what he knows about the McAfee warning. I suspect that's just a McAfee quirk, particularly since I googled it and found plenty of complaints about McAfee.

I asked the same thing a while back and unfortunately that is something that can't be changed.

Yeah and I've grown on 8sec. Nice balance, can get a big cloud in that time. And not hard to do a rpimer puff, or back to back puffs to make it longer, and can stop early for shorter (just might be hard to clear any vapor that way)

I agree, the 8 secs works well if you don't let it control you.

I have finally mastered this thing. What it took was to go back to the beginning. I used Joe's temp settings (thanks to Dr. Vape for showing us how to reset to factory settings). There is a reason he has them so low. Too high and it is simply too easy to combust. I was using the comparison temps on the chart that came with my Indica which I like to use on the highest setting...410 or so. Way to high for this instrument. Anyhow, the factory settings work great and are so much lower! Tweak after you get things working, IMHO and experience and you won't get combustion.

I bought and use the stirring lid tool and it works great. I keep the lid off center so it is very easy to turn 180 or 360 and I do so after every hit or two.

I domed my bottom screen as much as I could so that it domes UP into the chamber a bit.I just pushed up with a sharpie top. You can see it, but barely and it really makes for a much more even extraction.

Again, I know that folks think this thing might be too much of a bother due to the learning curve. Follow our leds and you will shorten that, I hope. The bottom line is that though I have several other vapes and love to use them, this is the one that gets me THE MOST medicated with the least amount of substance. And, it tastes great.

Sorry for the frequency and long posts. I just believe this is a fantastic instrument and people will benefit from it.
