My new Buddha

Can somebody tell me if its going to wear it out faster if I have it up to full whenever I have it on? I don't leave it on all the time, but when I have it on I've been using it at full blast. I may find a more preferable method in the future, but right now I like taking quick hits at this high temp.

I'm loading only 0.1 and I'm able to get 8-10 real high temp hits. I only draw for 2-3 seconds though, and I draw really fast for those 2-3 seconds. I also don't let the whip stay attached, I pull it off clearing the whip after each hit. You would think the hit I get in this fashion would be smaller, but they are of pretty decent size. I then hold them in taking small breaths while doing so.

Anyways I love using it like this, but I have become concerned about having it at the high temp whenever it is on. I'm thinking its fine, but we'll we will see what you guys say.

Also thank you McGraw, the club is awesome!

Leaving it on full power for sessions is fine, as long as you are sitting there.
To use the DBV with the dab kit (oil rig), I use it on full power, and leave it at full temp when it is on.
That is usually up to an hour or a bit longer.
As long as I am sitting there.
When walking away for more than a few minutes, I lower mine to 1-2 pm on the dial (a little higher than 1/2 power.)
I would do this with any tool that gets hot.

Awesome. Thanx for the feedback. I think I'm just gonna turn mine off when its not in use. I love the way this thing looks. I would take it over a SSV any day, and thats saying something.

Good day Vapors! I recently picked up a used Da Buddha (for 20 bucks) and it may be the best thing ive done since I started partaking of the green again. I didnt smoke for 20 years and started again 4 years ago. I wish I'd known about this then. I have read the first 40 pages of this thread and decided to sign up. Took a little bit to get the hang but we (me and my neighbor) have put about 2 oz through it in almost three weeks. It was great as was but adding a bubbler to it made it heavenly. I use a ghetto pickle jar "vong " and couldn't be happier. The fact that I've got no cash into it is even better. Anyway just thought I'd say hey. So Hey!

So I'm sorry for the double post, but I have an awesome question! I've been trying many different methods for getting good pulls from Da Buddha. I'm played around with very slow draws and low temps, very fast short draws at extreme temps, and everything in between. Well not everything xD but a I have tried a lot in my short time of owning Da Buddha.

What I have determined to be my fav method however is this. I turn it up too 100%, I only load 0.1, ( weighed out each bowl ) and then instead of packing it at all in order to keep it from falling down I simply don't tilt it until I start to inhale. Then instead of putting the bowl all the way into the glass heat cover I usually put it in half way, or a little further then half way. This seems like an awesome way to control the heat, and it allows me to only draw at maybe slightly faster then medium speed instead of having to draw super fast cause of the high temp. Sense I am able to control the temp with the distance and amount of air coming in from the sides I get just as milky of a hit drawing this way without turning it darker at all until after around 3-4 hits.

I have to mention as well that I only keep the bowl vaping for a very short time. As soon as I see milky vapor moving through the whip for like 1 second I pull the bowl away. This is another bonus of never inserting the bowl fully as its no wear on the glass. Also when you have the bowl inserted fully, or even to where there is contact between the glass, then it can be a pain to remove quickly when vaping in this fashion without breaking the glass, or wearing it down quickly with added strain where you don't want it.

Even pulling it away so quickly I seem to get just as big of hits, if not bigger then if I had inhaled slowly for a much longer period of time at a much lower temp. Anyways this seems to be a good method for me that has an awesome balance between milky hits, good size hits, and making the bowl go far, as I get usually at least 8 powerful hits, then they fall off usually still getting 10 sometimes some more, and that's with just what I would call decent herb.

So the question is, does anybody else use a method similar to this with their Da Buddha?

I also use the Nano the same way as @Tweak - but when I use my friends SSV, we keep it around 1/2 or slightly over the halfway point, and stir between hits. Of course it varies unit to unit depending on height of the heater; but even with the 15 degree angle, I like to start the hit before I mate the bowl to the heater. I think the advantage of using it a bit lower is that you can put in a bowl that takes up maybe half the glass on glass part of the wand- but obviously it's up to you how much you want to vape :2c:

The Nano looks freaken awesome! I almost got that instead of Da Buddha. It took me forever to choose xD. It does seem easier to vape more at lower temps. However its for sure possible to load it a 3rd of the way full and vape the way I describe. However you however to have to draw quicker, and you have to control the heat with how far in you put the bowl into the glass heater cover when you take a draw. Also you're not going to draw for nearly as long.

The reason I load such a small amount is because I like to be really efficient and make small amounts go as far as possible. I can load 0.1 and two people can get stoned, and then I can get a few more hits, or I can get stoned 2 or 3 times. Sometimes I like to vape as much of it as I can on my own and get cough locked xD.

Its awesome how many awesome different ways there are to use these things!

Thanks to you all for all your wisdom.
I am a happy owner but have noticed a bit of erratic heating which seems to be getting worse. The light flickers and sometimes the heater will just cut out....I can still use it, and I am reluctant to send it to 7th floor as i am in NZ and its almost not worth it, plus its hard to fathom going without my DBV for a month or two. I remember reading someone having similar problems (cant find the post in this massive thread) and possibly fixing it themselves. I can solder but am no expert. If it is the case of simply switching out the heater dial pot I think I could do it.

I often will use the DBV in the car via an inverter and not sure if this could be a cause.

I have contacted 7th floor who promptly replied telling me they need to look at it.

I bought it from them via their "seconds" section on the website but I dont think they would ship an item that they knew was internally faulty.

Small appliance repair shop. Almost certainly the plug cord has an intermittent short or break.

My friend had an issue just like that on his SSV, but the off position would randomly move along with the knob's position sometimes, and it would switch to full power from none, or flicker in and out sometimes- but he still got it to work.. Best thing really is just to send it in, he actually got a new wand and whip for free when they sent it back to him. Now that's customer service.

So I scraped the vapor resin out of my wand and vaped it in Da Buddha. I did this without my hose, I just drew straight from the wand. I was afraid I would taint the tubing with a resin taste otherwise. Worked out really well. I had only ran 5.25 of herb through Da Buddha. I scraped out enough to cover the screen with a decently thick amount.

I didn't expect it to go to far considering it wasn't much. It went rather well, I used the same method I would to vape herbs with. I had the dial at 100%, and I never inserted the bowl all the way into the heating element glass. Anyways I managed to get really stoned in 4 different sessions. I was pretty stoked about how ripped it got me, and how long it went on for.

At first it tasted like crap, and honestly it always did. However after probably the 3rd hit it didn't seem as bad anymore. I don't know if I was just getting used to it, or if I was getting better at vaping it, but I was starting to get a hint of the wand kief that was in there. Maybe that just means the herb is going to taste really good when I vape it again xD.

Lol so true. I look back up at some of my posts and laugh at how high I was typing those out. Things like this

"However you however to have to draw quicker"

make me laugh...... Time to vape 0.1
