Actually, in my opinion the best vape for that is made in your country. The Swiss Vapman with what I believe is called "concentrate sieves" in their webshop is perfect for vaping hash that doesn't fully melt away when heated.

I completely forgot about the Vapman! I've read about it years ago, but then decided to get a Solo. Will definitely order one today! Thanks NorVape for pointing me in the right direction.

Actually I was interested in an E-cig-based vaporizer for stealth reasons. Is there anything like this outthere what would meet my needs when it comes to vape some "classic" hash? Or will I have to produce some oil myself?

Normal, thick oil will work with an Omicron, right? It doesnt have to be that fluid like E-cig-liquids?

Correct thick oil as long as its "full melt" *try the foil test* will work in an EO cart or KISS cart just fine.

Impurities in the oil mean the heater will build up with residue and eventually fail (EO) or need cleaning (KISS). "Classic" hash like finger hash or bubble hash simply can't be used in wire-heater vaporizers. The only vape I own that powers through pure bubble hash with no carrier is the Cloud Evo. It dirties up the EZ-load bowls something fierce, but works better than my Volcano and certainly better than the MFLB (maybe I don't know how to use that one with hash though)

Now you want to get into the Hercules cart on the Persei... On top of 'buffered" oil coils...

I've put bubble hash in there, worked awesome... Put straight kief in there... Worked awesome....

About to have an Omicron Light. Very excited!

Quick question I didn't see answered anywhere. I've read that you can clean the included KISS carts when they get dirty, but do you need to clean them before use or are they good to go right out of the box?

They are good to go right out of the box. I like to rinse the mp and attachment to the atomizer with warm water. I do not clean the actual atomizer when I use a new kiss cartridge.

I could not decide between the Minicron Lite and Vaperizer...so I got both! Here is my review of them after about 2 weeks of use so I can't comment on reliability yet. First off I can say I got both in the silver color with excellent quality look and feel.

The Minicron Lite is thicker and heavier with slightly more battery capacity and holds more shatter. The biggest advantage is that you have easier access to loading since the top of the kiss cart screws apart so you have direct access to the heat coil. I like the mini USB under the screw off end cap alot.

The Vaperizer is so small and thin you could be holding it in your hand while talking to a cop and he would just think it is a pen. The mini kiss is harder to load since the heat coil is recessed down inside a thin tube but with some practice it gets easier. It pays off if your very active like running or cycling as being so thin and light weight it disappears in your pocket.

So which is better? I would say the Minicron Lite would be better for general use like walking or sharing at a concert. Running or cycling I take the Vaperizer. They both have good taste if you got good shatter. I use the relatively huge Persei only at home.

Ok, got my Omicron Lite. Please forgive my n00bness on this gear...but I want to double check some stuff before using. The KISS cart that came with the Omicron seems bit dirty on arrival, which has me concerned. I also got a second TI KISS cart with it, and it looks clean, but seems to have much less wire wrapped around the wick...so I have a couple questions:

Here is the one that came with the Omicron, you can see how the wick seems smudged with something black, and there is a big fleck of whatever that is sitting between a bit of the coil, very visable, is this normal or should I try to get this part replaced or clean it?:

The one with less coils is titanium and will take a little more time to heat up but will taste better. The other one is nichrome wire.

ok, cool, so i'll use the titanium one, it's the one that looks clean anyway, not sure what's on the other wick but i'll probably just discard it rather than try to clean it, might be a bit of residue from the soft material in the case? not sure but I'll just start with the other one so all good there.

almost ready to go then! still confused about the metal dabber tool and instructions to not touch the coil with it while applying concentrate. i have a glass dabber i can use, but do I need to be super careful not to touch the coil with that either, just getting the wax on the white wick? I've tried looking around but cant find a video showing up close how to do it.

edit: oh, from the instructions:
Load 0.1 - 0.3 grams of concentrate by dropping on to heater coil or gently apply concentrate using a non metallic applicator.

so I guess i just get it on the tool, then get it to drop onto the wick and coils. right? Sorry to be silly I'm just anxious I'll mess it up...

Yeah you shouldn't touch metal to the coils. I wouldn't use a metal tool at all. I just use a toothpick. I put a small ball of wax on the coil and make it melt with a couple taps of the button. And then vape away!

Not sure what the smudge on the wick is. I wouldn't worry about it and I woudlnt throw away the cartridge. You can always just try to burn it away or soak the whole cartridge in ISO overnight and let it dry for a few hours.

*sigh* I think user error over here has messed me up. I did get some concentrate on the coil and had some nice draws. did just as instructed, 5 second draws, wait 20 seconds between draws, first 2-3 tasted great, but the next two tasted a bit combustiony or sort of like an ecig thats almost out of juice, and now I'm looking at the cart, and the wick looks black just under the coils, so I imagine that's the source of the bad taste...I guess I didn't get enough on there or not evenly distributed enough on the wick? Totally bummed right now...going to have to get more carts already...

Hi everyone, just found this forum and wish i found it sooner.

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to rebuild the KISS TI cartridge? I have a new KISS TI cart that I've only used twice and it's already failed.

Soaked my cart in ISO for a few hours then dried it overnight, did a few short heat ups to get rid of the black around the coils in my cart, looks brand new! still smells a bit weird though, not sure if I'm just not used to the smell / taste of concentrates or what. Do they always have a bit of a charred aftertaste with this kind of setup? I'm used to herbal vapes at medium temps, perhaps the high heat here just always creates a tiny bit of a charred flavor on the finish of a concentrate cloud?

I think you need to buy the kiss with the black ceramic core. No burnt taste unless it's really dry. It absorbs the concentrate.

Interesting, didn't see that as an option when re-ordering carts, I saw a few pages back or maybe another Uptech thread that they are working through old stock and upgrading to black ones in general (I think that's what it said), so hopefully my new ones will be black wick so I can compare.

Got it working pretty good though with the freshly cleaned cart, just made sure to get enough onto the wick and now the draws taste pretty good, just still a tiny bit of aftertaste I'm not used to, but I think it's just the flavor of the concentrate or perhaps I messed up the taste with my first few attempts and subsequent cleaning. Also, shorter pulls (2-3 seconds are smaller but tastier), so I assume it's a technique thing I'm working out with loading, firing, & drawing, just like learning any new gear. New carts will allow me to do further testing.

Loving the pen though, beautiful little thing. It's actually smaller than some e-cigs my friends have.

I'm about to get an Omicron Lite as well, and just wanted to make sure that there's no special steps I need to take when I first get it beyond charging the battery. I've read about how you need to "prime" other atomizers before using them or they don't work properly and want to make sure I don't screw up my first cart.

Not sure how much you've been putting in, by myself and some others have been loading .2-.4 in at a time, no aiming necessary. Great taste and so far no leaks using it that way. Someone else cut their's down a little a stuck it in the okeanos. So far I've completely replaced my eo carts with these.

I have both and I'm not sure which is better, the vaporiser just fits the mini so perfectly, it's so stealth and e-cig looking. It's still pretty tiny and stealth on the minicron lite though. It's almost more about the look than the size. If all I care about is size I'd go minicron lite since it will last a bit longer, if I care about size and stealth I'd do vaporizer.

If you put that much shatter in the ceramic bowl doesn't that plug up the air path holes? Do you hold the pen a a certain angle to keep one of the holes open?

I haven't tried shatter in it, I always feed that to my herc, the stuff in my mini now is almost a crumble. If I look down into it I see a big pool of solid wax, no path to the airholes. But I inhale when I press the button and the airway seems to open right up in under a second. It just goes. It might be a little different when it's fully loaded. I was skeptical when someone else posted about loading so much in, but it's worked really damn well. You can get them on the site now too, I was a lot braver with it once I had a backup.

Just came back to say, I spent yesterday reading the last hundred or so pages of the Persei Thread, starting from page 980 or something. Around 1000 and on there is loads of good info about the KISS TI 2 carts and how to load and use them.
