Discontinued Daisy vaporizer by Triihouse

Just purchased the Daisy (lily can wait). This will be my second butane vape, first being the vapman (shipping to me). When I purchased the vapman, I made sure to buy their vapman lighter because I heard good reviews. With the Daisy, do you think the vapman lighter will suffice? Can't wait to pack this heavy and take some monster vapor rips. Art with functionality has gotten me into the wooden vapes.

As stickstones states, I live in a VAS bubble. I can't help it. Even though all these purchases can be pricey, to be off painkillers (car accident) is awesome. That habit in one month cost me more than my whole vaporizer collection. MMJ is such a great alternative and helped me get off of painkillers. If only their was more research into the medicinal benefits of mmj, the list would be endless (one being a way to get off prescription painkillers, which is the most abused drug out there)
my daisy torch died and in trying to fix it i tore it apart and ended up tossing it. so i have my trusty vapman torch and she works great with daisy. i also made purchase of a vector torch that i now use for vapman and my vapman torch get's used for daisy. i did order lily so i'll be getting a new daisy torch. but yeah pretty much any torch will work. unless it's one of those massive flame throwing torches. maybe don't use one of those.

I load my Daisy as to just cover the screen, no more than about an 1/8 of an inch usually. Then I tamp the load evenly over the screen — but not very firm. I notice better performance when I do this. :)
um ok i just did this and wawa wewow. it's like a new unit. so 1st i barely sprinkle some herbs into daisy. my normal routine is to load the bowl full. too full prolly. but this tamp technique with just a covering of the screen yielded results that still has me asking the question - is this gonna be the last toot from this sesh? i should have counted how many big lungfulls i exhaled. and with a fraction of herbals. bravo @steama

i now feel like i wanna get one of them .001 scales to find out minimum herbage for maximum clouds. might give some other vape makers a run for their efficiency claims money.

do you think the packing down is helping or just the smaller amount?

What I think a tamp is doing is restricting air through the screen a bit more thus producing better vapor because it traps more heat. Anyway that is my voodoo bullshit answer. :brow:

I can see that. A loose load might have areas where the hot air can get by without heating the load. I lightly tamp on my wand vapes and it works there too

Those of you who have had your Daisy's for a while, does the wood tend to pick up any odor? I see no reason the Daisy couldn't be left out on the table even when people (who don't get high) come over if there is no odor to the piece.

You're the man, steama. Did you're technique and ...... Wow! :o

A true one hit wonder for those without
Too high a tolerance.

Best of all when I returned a few hours later, the 2nd hit still had good flavor. Not sure if I'll get much out of the 3rd.

These wood vapes intrigue me and am excited to try. I think it's because I see a lot of new technology going into these new vaporizers and I have no idea what I'm inhaling. But these are so simplistic for the user (not simple for designing the vape) and that appeals to me. there are no electronics in the vapor path and I still have ability to get different temps thru user technique. I have too much homework (reading threads) but at least the Daisy is only 24 pages.

I emailed Brenna regarding shipping of the daisy. She said that they're waiting on one last piece to come in which was out of there hands, and should ship early next week. Not sure if this applies to the lily though

Trapped in the Astral Planes Back from the dead
Going camping for the next two days. Taking Daisy with me for my tent sessions. I was hoping to get Lily to take along as well, but it won't be here in time. So instead I will take my other flame vapman for a more discreet trail vape. Daisy has effectively became my daily driver at home and has made me rethink my position on tech packed type vaporizers. I have not even looked at my F.F since Daisy's arrival. Simply because as great of a device that it is, it isn't as satisfying as the experiance I have with Daisy. I don't consider myself a cloud chaser, but the FF never delivered the amount of vapor I get off the amount it takes to just cover the screen of Daisy. Not to say the FF dosent't hit hard, it just is different. I am very happy that I ordered one.

I think many have stated here, including myself, that one of the most fun aspects of using Daisy is you can create your own ritual about it. Here is mine (I'm bored today):
  1. Open up Daisy and separate her pieces, set down mp block gently on side and heat intake block down straight up, visually inspect each piece on occasion to see if needs cleaning.
  2. Scoop in one small turkish pipe spoon's worth of finely ground material into bowl. Wipe spoon of residual kief with fingers and crumble that into top of bowl.
  3. Use one tiny earspoon's worth of kief, sprinkle on top, then pat bowl block lightly with palm or bump it with the heat intake block to even out load and have kief settle down amongst the herb.
  4. Gently reassemble Daisy, squeeze pieces together to ensure tight fit and not allow air leakage.
  5. Position Daisy in palm with finger covering carb hole.
  6. Light torch and point down into heat intake, dance around mouth and play with depth of flame until the whistle goes.
  7. Pump carb hole a bit as whistle goes and vapor is visible in glass neck. Keep inhaling but leaving a little breath at the end after removing flame and opening carb to clear all residual vapor from inside Daisy, reduce gunk up time.
  8. Open up Daisy and separate pieces again, stir one revolution from middle-out with bamboo stir stick. Reassemble and repeat with torch one more time, I find flavor is greatly diminished in this hit, so I stop there, and immediately dissassemble and empty bowl out.
  9. I empty bowl by turning upside down and gently stirring with the bamboo stick, then scrape the bottom out gently so as to minimize bits getting stuck in screen (some is unavoidable).
  10. Lastly I cover the carb hole and blow into the metal transfer tube to get any last stray debris out of the bowl.
  11. Reassemble Daisy and set aside for next session.
Wow, after typing it sounds like a lot, but it goes by quick and you hardly notice all those steps as you do them. I rather enjoy the whole process.

Edit: Forgot one thing after #7, so 7.5 Sit back, exhale and admire the overcast skies you just created.

Helpful write up of your ritual, thanks.

Am I being too literal or are you saying that you get two lung fulls per bowl?

You read that right, I get what I consider 1.75 hits out of one bowl (filled a bit under half but often spiked with kief), but the first hit is humongous and the second about half the cloud, sometimes a bit more. I draw hard and have good lung capacity, so YMMV. I like the Daisy MP because it allows me to open my mouth wide for the suction and still get a good seal. I really love how unrestricted Daisy's airflow is.

I am curious as to how I will have to adjust once I get my Lily. :hmm:

Really not even two Hit's? Man-oh-man Mister G I get at least a good 10 hit's out of half a bowl and don't have access to kief in any quantity so that's straight bud, with kief I can easily get 20.

Only 1.75 hits from a half full daisy chamber Doesn't sound right to me, can't make no sense my mind in with that.

 :hmm:

Edit: I do know we all have different ways of doing things but I just can't picture getting that few hits from that quantity of bud and calling it done and avb(trashed). Can't in anyway see a half bowl being even close to spent with 2 hits. ...

I dunno. They are pretty big hits? High heat? Your material is better? I'm not disappointed, still gets me there. Miles better and more reliable than a lot of vapes I've tried. I use a pretty fine grind too if that makes a difference?

Being Happy with it is what counts most.
I guess there are many variables in the mix from the herbs themselves to what we consider "done".

I do blast with higher heat and after the first stir it doesn't seem to matter what grind you started with since it becomes as fine as possible once you stir ... but half a bowl is like .40 by my count and I can't see anyone vaping that up in less then 2 hits in any vaporizer is all.

:peace:

Even when I say I'm sippin' on Daisy the hits are BIG and cloudy.

I can pretty much do what would be a full chamber/load/bowl in most of the other torch powered vapes i've used in two or three hits in the Daisy. I do also go through some bud with her when I let myself.

But I have the same problem with Daisy that i had with the HA and it's kinda huge crucible(think daisy holds near as much) in that I want to fill that chamber when I see it and find it hard to control that urge, always happy i gave in right afterwards but it has that downside sometimes of going  "opps that jyARz was supposed to last a few more days". ... Always works out in the end.

Was the same with my Volcano. So hard not to fill that bowl. Getting more and more tempted to also add a Daisy now that the Volcano has gone :-)

Ok guys, I dialed down my flame and adjusted my draw and carb pulse to get double the amount of hits than my shotgunning, more like 4+ and then the flavor turns completely, there may be more hits in there, but doesn't taste good to me. It also helps to have a clean glass neck to see the vapor better for feedback on your hit size. I don't think there's anything wrong with my other method, but this works nicely as well.

I love the flexibility of Daisy, what an awesome vaporizer, more people should try one.

I am eagerly waiting for my new Daisy to arrive. I typed concentrates on the search function and only found a few postings. I find that most ppl use this as a flower vape, not so much for concentrates. Tommy, I was wondering if you put more thought into concentrate use. Maybe a oil pad like the one for the volcano or herbie. Since Daisy can reach temps to vaporize oil, how are Daisy users trying shatter or wax? For Kief, mister g just sprinkles and tamps down on top of the flowers (according to his post). I prefer not to put a dab on top of flowers, but will if that is the best way.
