Cool Music to Vape to - Part 2

I go where the thrills are
@mitchgo61 Why am I not completely surprised that you are a huge fan! I have a funny feeling our MP3 players have some similar tracks :)

I found out about Gibby when I was reading the 'welcome to KPMG' propaganda, with a bunch of their famous alumni listed - Gibby's an alum, as is Toby Flenderson from The Office, who also developed an early hatred for accounting (I'm not an accountant :)

Thanks for the concert doc - Big Screen here we come!

One day when you're bored I'll have to share my impressions of that first time seeing them. Nothing could have prepared me for it...not even being a fan of their studio albums. The surgical films alone have been seared into my brain.

This is a fun film. Very weird. Truly perfect for vaping.

I wanna see Wire, too! The Ideal Copy would go here if I wasn't a passenger in a car right now :)

Edit - fixed it!

Wire - Ambitious

And, just for fun...

The Fall - Spoilt victorian child

The Fall - LA

Oh man...love the Fall. I must have like 75 cds of theirs! Crazy catalogue...they are the Hawkwind of post-punk. :p Only saw them once, in Seattle 01, but I got lucky and caught a good night.

Meet me in Boston for Wire....pre-show Inhalater party?

But I like it!
@mitchgo61 Boston is a lot of flight changes for me before we moved rural - I almost can't get there from here :). But if we can find a decent concert at a hub, like Chicago, I'm in. Except for maybe bringing the INH, and the stuff to put in it. Which brings up a great question - now that I'm a MMJ patient my travel days might be a lot more restricted than they used to be... Hhmmm... Any suggestions on how to handle international travel though mj unfriendly borders, like the USA?

This year, jam band titans Gov’t Mule celebrate 20 years as a band. To commemorate the occasion, they’ve launched an archival series, which officially kicks off on December 15th with the release of their 2008 Halloween performance of Pink Floyd covers.

Dubbed Dark Side of the Mule, the package also includes a DVD of the concert. As a preview, the band has unveiled a clip of them performing “Fearless”, a track which originally appeared on Pink Floyd’s sixth album, Meddle. Gov’t Mule offer a moodier take on the classic track, as frontman Warren Hayes lightly croons and subtly strums his guitar. The rest of the band looks just as rapt in the hypnotic riffs, each pensively playing their part.

“For Gov’t Mule’s Halloween shows we put on a disguise and afford ourselves the luxury of playing an entire set of someone else’s music,” Haynes said in a statement. “We had done a couple of Pink Floyd covers before, but it was a fun challenge to learn a whole set of their music. I love this old classic Floyd song. We had never played ‘Fearless’ prior to this performance and it was our bassist Jorgen Carlsson’s second show with Gov’t Mule, which made for a lot of spontaneity.”

Besides Fearless, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 1 - 5 is another favorite.
As is the entire album, and the dvd of the concert

Uh, swans are out again?!

Ugh. They're in my town when I'm in chicago, missing them this time out.

I almost fainted when they scheduled a Portland ME show. Haven't seen em since early 97 at the Fenix in Seattle, a club later partially destroyed by the 01 quake. How it was still standing when Swans were done, I've never figured out.
