The Lotus Vaporizer

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
I need an orbiter...

YES, I THINK YOU DO ! For Sure, and without a doubt.

It does seem the orbiter and Lotus are the perfect combo, it just feels so 'right' when your using it. A whole lot of functional fun to say the least. It's how my orbiter sees the most use, so much so that it's stored with a lotus/wpa and torch now. Once in a blue moon I'll use it with the UD and it's bad ass with it but it Fucking Rocks even Harder with the lotus. You would LIKE it.

Agreed, I love mine! Perfect pairing for the lotus...and it helps me gauge my hits better without counting, or straining too hard to look. The visual feedback is such the best out of any glass I've used, & you know when you've milked the hit long enough :D

now that im quite experienced with using lotus in challenging environments i have to state,

lotus strength is not stealht, but! that makes your ninjaing better, because you already have to master the technique of torch, and the then you also have to move like a ninja in the shadows, leaving behind only faint echoing sound of the butane torch.

so first discipline; master of torch techniques... second discipline; master of ninja moves... and also! when you finally fully realize these disciplines it is time for the final challenge; get seriously baked - leave house WITHOUT forgetting any of torch, stem, cap, herb - NOT burn your finger on the plate whole day - NOT combust whole day - and lastly, MANAGE to use lotus one handed and drink beer and hold nachos at same time, while standing on one foot in windy conditions. IF you manage this, then you can be TRUE MASTER of LOTUS.

I have my finger on the order button for a Lotus, but was hoping for someone to answer some questions. How hard is it to actually use out the box?

I have never used a butane vape, although I've had many others (E-Nano, EQ, SSV). Is it going to be easy to combust accidentally? That is my largest concern at this point.

It does have a learning curve so will take some practice. And there is a good chance that you will combust at least a few times. But I wouldn't let that scare you away from getting it. After a few uses should be able to get fairly good vapor most of the time. And once you really get the hang of it you will be blowing fat clouds no problem. I use mine every day as my daily driver and can't even remember the last time I combusted. Now my other vapes hardly get any use at all.

Ordered. Is there a better choice than the reducer I posted a few posts ago anyone? All my glass is 18mm.

It all depends on your bubbler, you'll have to experiment to find which piece works best for you.

One of my Favorite Setups was the D020--2-w by sunshinestore with a female-female adapter - I'd lift F-F adapter + Lotus to carb the piece.

Personally, I've been enjoying a J-hook + Lotus setup. If I want to add water filtration to the mix, I toss 30mL of water into the bent neck of the Hook. It provides a nice natural perc ation

I didn't know that a J-Hook can work as a natural perc. Do you get any water in the mouth when using it?

I wasn't even thinking that the reducer I posted might be to hot to pick up. I wonder if there is a little metal piece that can go under the reducer as a lifter. Anyone know where to find this metal butterfly piece?

Yes you will combust, but that's a necessary part of the process!

True. Combusting was necessary with my E-Nano to find perfection.

I have tried searching everywhere to find that metal slide lifter to no avail. :(

Speaking of challenging environments, I finally used my lotus out on the ski slopes yesterday at Wolf Creek. Crazy warm spring-like conditions!
The torch flame is almost impossible to see on a sunny day surrounded by snow, but I managed. I was concerned since I usually look for the red spot on the plate as my "over-temperature warning light" but I managed not to combust. The hardest part was loading the bowl on a windy chairlift.
My only gripe with the lotus is that I can't pre-load it and carry it around because the herb gets all up inside the cap. It would be nice if there were a screen on the underside of the cap to keep stuff out. Has anyone tried retrofitting something like that?

Man ive had mine for over 1.5wks now and i just combusted last night, its like a game, to see how much vapor you can produce without damaging the load. Ive got it down pretty good, but mastery? i dont think the man who made the lotus is even a true master, its a life learning experience for everyone. Like a martial art.

Which is the best way you found out to use the lotus with hash, afghan one lets say (since that i got right now)
I used a small spiral under the screen to raise it up to be closer to cap and looks descent but I think that must be more to be done here or I hope so.

I never combusted with the Lotus, the only flame poweded vape which makes me combust is the VG, but I still love it!

I am considering purchasing this Vaporizer because I have heard it works efficiently and is very easy to keep clean. Now, to be honest, I have not read all responses posted here in this thread as of yet but I do enjoy having toys and choices when partaking in my "Favorite Herb." I am new here to this Website and have been enjoying the topics, and corresponding threads, and of course the bantering amongst members/friends.....

I am older(decades have gone by with my hair and beard turning gray and the wearing of bifocals a must)and am not completely sold on using only Vaporizers. For over forty years I have put the flame to the 'dried herb' through many types of devises(we used to go to the Hardware stores back in the very early 70's to create implements made out of solid brass)and have baked some mean Brownies and thoroughly enjoyed the taste. Now I not saying you do not experience taste when vaporizing but the taste(or lack of)is totally a different experience.....

Is it just me or have others felt the same way, I have found the experience of using combustion seem to "effect me" much quicker over vaporizing. Of course being a 'Newbie' maybe I have not made the most educated research as to which 'Devices' work quicker and better over others...I own only portable vaporizers so far and they include a MFLB, Sonic and just a couple of weeks ago I picked up the Atmos-Boss(which works very well for a Pen Type Vaporizer). And now I have my mind and wallet set on purchasing the Lotus Vaporizer.....

As many here have mentioned by going to a full service Cigar Shop you can find many types and styles of "Torch Lighters." And they all will carry triple filtered Butane which of course is the, "only way to fly." And let me mention...while there pick up a Cigar or two to smoke and check out. The selection is usually excellent in a specialty shop and they will have cigars ranging from a couple dollars a piece to up to hundreds per Cigar. Again, the name of the game is the taste of the smoke and many will have a lounge so you can sit with friends and talk!!!

Take care.....Frodo(time to slip the "Ring" back on)!!!
I have a buddy who combusts. I recommended the pax (that was the only vape I owned at the time) and he purchased it. He still prefers combusting and won't switch. I love vaporizing, but this sentiment was not as common as I thought. He's one of my best friends and don't like seeing him combust (he smokes tobacco too). It's hard to recommend another purchase (even though he is extremely well off) without the risk of him reaching for his pipe or Water piece. The lotus seems the closest, so I was thinking about mentioning the lotus. I have to buy and try myself, but I think he will like how it can sit on his water piece and can see it milk up.

I use pollem. Also have used afgani black. Just use a flat screen put enough to just the cover screen, hit once then stir, It will all stick together, i find it works great

You can @SpaceCoyote !!! Use the cap from your lighter to cover your bowl. It should fit tight !
If not, now Lotus are shipped with a red silicone cap similar to the one used for covering MFLB batteries (for example).
If you don't have any of those, you could try to imagine a fit with some elastic and plastic film.

Enjoy Lotus on the highs !

The Lotus is the least likely to combust of my collection of Daisy, VM, and assorted VGs (IME)

Yeah, gotta agree. The VG has a very fine line between extra crispy and burnt. Though I've found that using a torch changes the equation .

Back to the Lotus though, I highly recommend it as a first fire powered vape. It's use with glass is legendary and it's on the 'must have' list of vaporizors.

I suggest a J hook to start out with.
