Well, comparably... also it's not just 25$ for me, I'm in Europe. It was almost twice of that.

By the way, I think a good feature would be if the shutoff timer would run down 1/8 its speed when the unit is idle.

Any tips to optimize battery use? I'm getting 6 or 7 stems before it's almost dead, I feel like it's to less... Or is this normal?

Also, to clean the screens, is it ok to just torch it?

Your battery life sounds normal to me and Yes you can pull out the screens an torch them clean(it's how I clean mine anyways).

Edit: my sessions always start on temp setting 4 and end on 7 and battery life in the solo is still longer then any other portable I've used.

What temp level are you using ?
That will be a factor in your portable battery sessions .
I can get 2 hours of straight usage on levels 3 and 4 .
But only 1 1/2 hrs on levels 6 and 7 for water vaping .
Hope that helps .

So, last night I could not sleep and I sucked up the remainder of what was in the corners of my grinder into my gong. Usually I will leave the stuff in the edges and just add some more buds and the buds/kif that collects in the corners/edges seems to be uber potent, last two times it has knocked me right out which was my intention. I should get me a nail to use for nights like that and just do a dab.

It looks like I set it down after a pull, zoned and fell asleep. Got knocked over somehow while I was sleeping and I think a little bit of water got inside which I shook out the top. Fortunately it looks like it fell off the gong as soon as it tipped

Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about taking out the screws in the top (edit, the four screws on top of the oven) to check inside and maybe rinsing with distilled water? What about 99% ISO? I am going to be so sad if my solo is dead.

DARN! Just wanted to check before I take off the top screws. I will search to see if this is a no-no or not. I don't want any crap that was in the water to dry up gunky or whatever.

I love my solo. There's no way I want to ever go back to combustion. Man, I knew I should have picked up some distilled water. That's all the more reason to use it, in case it tips over.

:(

It is definitely "a no-no" don't do it. You can easily break the fine wires underneath it (want to guess how I know this?).

If it was mine I'd put it top down on a towel (cap off) for a few days in a warm place. Probably laying it on it's side after a day or so on it's head (hoping any liquid might drain out). It should be fine, water isn't a big deal once it's evaporated off.

Don't mess with the four screws, it won't help and will quite probably make it worse.

The Solo is my daily driver and I charge it once per week and get a minimum of 2 sessions per day. First 2 sessions of a new bowl are at level 4. Next 2 sessions are at level 5 and so forth till the bowl is beat. I probably get 25% more battery coverage per charge because the last hit of each session I turn off the Solo. It takes me 3 to 4 hits depending on quality of the herb but the last hit is done with the Solo turned off and I still get a decent cloudy hit. Actually the last hit I take is always with the Solo off so if I'm only doing two hits the first is on and the second is off.

I started turning off the Solo before inhaling on the last hit when I started using it hamster style or upside down to:
- Keep the reclaim flowing away from the bowl
- Limit the herb falling out of the bowl into the oven
- Wanting to cool off the stem so I can store it out of the Solo, cooled and upside down
- On the last 30 seconds of the last hit I inhale (still upside down) and pull out the stem at the same time to suck any herb that has fallen out of the bowl back into the bowl

I have the stainless steel screens and have 'quickly/briefly' torched the screen while in place to see what would happen. Won't do it again because it really wasn't necessary since I scrape the screen in place with the tip of a scissor each time I empty it. Sometimes I'll use the brush from the MFLB while blowing outwards to clean it.

Doesnt the FBomb take the 14mm like the Pinnacke Pro water tool?

EDIT
It comes in 2 sizes I see on the Planetvape website. The D020 bubbler takes the 18mm so if you purchased that size you could use for both. That is, if you wanted to buy one. I highly recommend it. The bubbler is only $30 shipped to U.S through DHgate. It works awesome with the Solo.

I thought the Vortex stems might be hard to clean. Last night I had hot cocoa with my Solo stem stirring allowing all the oils to float the meds into my drink. Then I cleaned it with ISO and popped the screen out to clean around the edges with a brush to get any of the leftover gunk. Clean as can be now. Really easy.

I thought I had read not to remove the four top screws, glad I decided to check. I thought I had read it was really difficult to re-seat and vaguely remember something about wires. I have read this entire thread, but it's hard to remember that stuff, and I tried the search but I couldn't find much in the search either. I am doing exactly what you wrote and was thinking about putting it in front of a radiator heater where it will be about 80 degrees. I don't think much got in there but a little bit did drip out when I flicked it with my wrist.

I'll leave it be for a few days, gives me an excuse to finish this oil I have had curing in a jar for 8 months.

You can buy the GonGs through Planetvape for the Solo.
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I live in the UK so no point me looking at planetofvapes! If I got the 18mm does that affect air flow compared to 14mm?so do you get bigger hits with 18mm?Thanks

You do know that you're going to need a gong right? (Well, there are workarounds but imo it's a must) Just making sure...

I live in Australia and still use PlanetVape, even though shipping to here is ridiculous.

I ended up giving my Solo to a friend for christmas. I still think it's a good vape especially for the price but was sad to hear many battery issues from friends. That combined with questions about the vape path led me to rethink my using Solo.

@DevRev what a good friend you are. There aren't that many battery issues here lately. That was because of the change in the model. I think Arizer has that all worked out. I'm not sure what your talking about in regards to the vaping path?

There are many happy Solo owners around here, not too many complaints.

@HomeFree .......its like deja vu

I was in your situation. Deja vu because not only did water get in but @OF was also the one to give me great advice.

I used to put the solo in a sock for cushion, and then put that into a water bottle. Was stealthy and acted as a case. One day I put the sock in the wrong water bottle that I was drinking from (have 2 of the same bottles). Submerged in water. I took the cap off and also removed the internals and left it to dry. Definitely dont remove the screws at the top its delicate in there like OF said.

If you feel comfortable you can remove the internals (although not sure if water would even get in there from the oven-again mine was submerged in water):

Make sure to be very gentle with the 4 screw holes they easily crack.
