Discontinued Elevape SV

Damn, now the windows software won't download.
It failed twice, now when I try and go back it goes to a "server reset" page.
I believe I'm off to a poor start with this, back to the lid :(

So while *charging for 5 hours before initial use*, I am having trouble with step #1: removing the filter cap by "turning it 90 degrees and lifting off". It doesn't want to turn, by hand anyways. Is is supposed to swivel just one direction or either way? Should I break out the pliers or something? Off for software now...

It gets better!

Luckily my first one had only one magnet, so it was easier the first time.

I actually prefer the Elevape lid, but the firefly doesn't have the mesh screen at least...

Okay I got the lid to turn by hand, and when I popped it out the magnets came out as well. One of them shows evidence of being glued in, they're only attracted to the lid evidently. Since the lid seems to lock on just fine without the magnets, I'll put them aside for now; I will probably glue one of them back in, and put one away with the spare parts. So the lid thing is solved for now. I'll keep checking on the software.

My mouthpiece fits well, @Enchantre does yours have the o-ring on it?

Also I have a green light, but feel like I should follow the directions and initial charge 5 hours anyways

They're glued with medical inert glue. So I dont know if its easy to aquire. Joe will hook you up with a new lid if yours cane like that, bc they shouldnt fall out.
Joe's very helpful, his website is having some issues serving up the software and after I informed him of this he directed me to another server. But it seems like the magnets were glued to the body not the lid

I agree grokit. I think they used too much glue and it caused it to stick, not only the magnet but the lid too. I think the glue is intended for the magnets but the excess caused it to stick to the lid, making it hard for us to open. I didn't try opening it (just received it 2 days ago) but it seemed stuck. So I came on FC and saw grokit's post and decided to keep wiggling it til it became free.

Both magnets are glued in and you can see the excess glue (not a big deal for me). I'll wipe it down with ISO when I start playing around with the esv. I fell back in love with the minivap and am using it almost exclusively.

I would be pulling the trigger on this at $175 if it was an option at the moment, My guess is this price won't stick around for a couple week's or will it?

The spot for an on demand portable is still open, and this one seem's perfect for the Evoke wait. The last thing i wan't to do is wait for that summer vape and it just get's delayed all summer, But hey that very well could happen, This one might end up being a better fit over the Evoke for me personally, That is purely going by size. I do predict the Esv will be smoother considering the convection tho.

The only thing that kept me from getting this one before is the battery issue, My rule is if there over $200 they MUST have user replaceable battery's

Morning friends! I just picked up my unit from the Post Office. I got it on sale thanks to FC. It arrived in 3 days even though I didn't pay for special mail handling. I could barely sleep last night. I am charging it now and have to force myself to use alternative instruments until the charge is finished.

First report: This IS, indeed, a very, very slick unit. Extremely solid. I cannot believe the electronics in this thing given its diminutive size. Wow. This was not a phoned in design. I am on the edge waiting for the charge to finish.

Mine does have a loose magnet. Bummer, but from what everyone says, Joe will make it all good so I am not worried. If you put the lid on carefully, the magnet stays in, so it isn't a really big deal. (We complain too much here, methinks!).

Two quick questions, though:
1. Joe, is there some method of gluing that won't requiring sending this puppy back?
2. I am not getting anything to register on the app regarding the battery. (This could be because it is too low on charge?). The other settings seem to work just fine.

Teaming,

Gardenerjeff

Mine does have the O-ring... it is deeply set in the groove. Joe is already sending me new mouthpieces.
the snugness of the lid should hold it in without the magnets, but yeah, have them send you another.

I went to vapornation, and clicked on the firmware download link (I think), and got the app from there. The factory presets might be decent already... it is fun to make adjustments, though.

i think you are now the third person who complaints about the magnets... so it would nice to hear from joe what we can do... also maybe some hints for people who will get their esv in near future deliverd to open the lid not harming the magnets... or are the magnets not necassery? @Enchantre

Opening the lid should just be pushing one corner edge of the lid to rotate it enough to provide the overhanging lip to push upward on... once it's rotated, the magnets should actually be away from each other enough to facilitate opening.

Production issue getting the glue to dry before the pieces go together... glue is being held at too high a temp, so it's still tacky when they go together. Slowing down that portion of the production line would give the glue a chance to set before the lid gets inserted. OR... a too-big a glob of glue ended up in the occasional magnet, and it squoozed out.

Just thoughts from this side of the laptop screen....

I notice that when I quit the app, and plug back in that I get a momentary battery reading of 25%. However, having changed the presets, unplugging resets them back to the factory settings. I suspect it is the server, and will thus wait patiently. It is just so nice to have so much support from those that are on this forum. It is really a terrific service. Thank you all!

My reply last night:
"Thanks Joe, that worked great, Best of luck with the web site!"
(re-sent this reply a few times last night but it kept getting bounced)

TODAY:
"I'm getting very frustrated with this purchase. The software shows a 90/100% charge, and confirms that I have taken setting #3 as high as it can go (450f). When I draw the red light blinks on then off (never steady). And I am getting no vapor, and my herb is still green. The red blinking light seems to indicate that the coil has an issue, brand new out of the box? I have no idea, because I can't seem to find the "troubleshooting page" that is referred to on the Q&A page of your site. But evidently I'm supposed to go there? I don't think I should have to troubleshoot a brand new unit.

Unfortunately, joe's email is still not working, and the above message got bounced as well:

"Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
joe@ipuffusa.com
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain ipuffusa.com by ipuffusa-com.relay1a.spamh.com
. [75.126.136.141].
The error that the other server returned was:
554 5.7.1 URL/Phone Number Filter - elevapesmart.com"

From their "Q&A Page":
"The charging light also functions as a problem indicator. If the unit is unplugged from the charging cable and the amber light blinks, this indicates that there is either a problem with the firmware or the hardware. Please call customer service at 888-686-5432 for instructions on what to do next."

I called the above telephone number a recording says "the number you have reached is not in service".
So atm, there is no way to email or call anybody at ipuff/elevape for anything.

I really want to like this vape, but so far

Looks like they might be having computer problems. Probably will be sorted soon. Such is life.

That is the phone number that I had dialed, that is currently out of service.
I just tried it again, please give it a try yourself when you get a chance.

I had started the correspondence with both email addresses, and joe replied with his.
I followed your advice, and re-sent my latest response to the sales address as well:

I just sent Joe an E-mail this afternoon and received a response shortly thereafter.
Maybe you could direct him here, because obviously both address are down for me.
Something about his phone number/spam filter :hmm:

Hi Guys,
@grokit
Sorry to hear abut the issues please contact me by phone My direct line line is 310/954-7945 I will take care of any issues you have .
I have tested the link to the program it seems to be working fine , and my email seems to be working please let me know if anyone still having issues downloading . About the magnets issues I think during assembly the surface wasn't thuraley cleaned and that is what cousing them to come out. theye are simply there to be able to clip on the lid while you are filling the unit, and since nobody uses them most likely will be removed in the next production run. we use a food safe glue to hold the magnets in but since they are nowhere near the vapor path any glue can be used.

I'm not upset, just frustrated that two emails and the phone number are all down, and my unit is doa.

Thanks joe, the magnets are the least of my concern at this point, but I will call you at this number.

edit: I called joe at his direct line as advised, and he was very helpful as has been mentioned already in this thread. We did some troubleshooting and evidently my batteries didn't handle the initial charge-up well. I will be exchanging my unit. Also their toll-free phone number may not work for my area, and who knows with the email (you can see the issue for yourselves).
Thanks again for all of your assistance, fc rocks :love:!!!

Well, I wrote Joe and expected an email reply, but he called me back immediately. Wow!

Described the problem and he knew what the problem was. Wow, again!

A bad cable. All fixed with a new one found, finally, at a CVS. I might have found one earlier had I not decided to try out the unit. WOW, A THIRD TIME!

Those who have had their first experience with this machine will know what I am saying. Most of the folks around me insist I have never been high and I do have a very high tolerance. One bowl left me wandering around town for two hours, in the rain, not giving a diddle. I think I had a slice of pizza somewhere in that time and remember not really being to communicate that I didn't want it heated up.

I have done two more bowls. I have to nap. This is a killer extractor. I can't wait for the stir lid. I am learning how to use it. The app is killer. This is going to be a fun tool. Thanks, again, to Joe! Saved my weekend from becoming a bummer!

Gardenerjeff

Keep your temps low to avoid combustion, make sure you have a full battery, less material goes a long way. Fill it to the top of the silver ring with ground flower, keep a steady draw and try to practice a little to avoid disappointed in real world situations.
