Im wondering if if will fire a different cart. If your Persei came with a kISS cart, try this one to see if you are getting the flashing still. Does it flash with nothing screwed on?
Do you have a meter to test the Herc for a short?

I did not order a kiSS cart with it. I have a meter but I'm not sure how to use it. The Persei top does flash with nothing screwed on.

cant answer as to whether hammer has protection, but it hits significantly harder and more efficiently with herc than my v1 top for whatever thats worth. I did get a rod with mine as well in december, but i seem to have burnt it out already... @THC SCIENTIFIC are hammer rods going to burn out or did i fuck mine up somehow? Think i may have been overzealous with torch cleanings?
My Hammer top will not fire on the Core outside of the voltages that fire the Persei.
IIRC the Hammer Rod should be self cleaning. It can reach 1200F.

dont need to torch the hammers as this kills it. they are not the same as the hercules rods.

I think I had 0 missfires with my hammer top with my sr74x and sr71. And I can fire it with 2x aw imr 18350, 2x 18650, the core. The hammer top gave me a completely well functionning persei. My v3 top is finnicky and I dont know yet what are his limitations. But buying a hammer top from planetvape was about the same cost as doing an upgrade exchange for a v4 top. (they had a hammer rod with it, you pay in cheap CAD, they use post canada to help avoid duty fees)

the male threads on the bottom insulator of my hercules 74x split open between threads on one side. it doesn't seem to be causing any problems currently (other than my herc being slightly lopsided), but it surely won't last much longer. @THC SCIENTIFIC couldn't find the part on the site, but i would love to buy one if it's possible.

Glad to be here. My brother gave my wife and i a persei. so after the usual internet crash course, ive decided to sign up here to get the real info. i just ordered a kiss (3.7) attachment after refilling the cartridges a couple of times and having some clogging w/ bho.plan on ordering the 7.4. man i pine the herc. and the rest of the accesories. i hope for a long relationship w/ these persei's. there great.

So yeah, i killed my hammer rod. Dont torch it clean... gotcha. Mine never got to 1200, but i didnt use 18650s or the core...

yeah, the bottom-most part of the hercules. the part that the the lower chamber screws into, and the heat shield screws onto, and which screws into the persei head. thanks for the quick response.
all you have to do is purchase $10 worth of misc warranty repair and write in the notes that you want either a sr71/74x or sr74 bottom adapter. Please note the difference.

So I think my V3 top is dead. I get the dreaded 3 flashing lights whenever I try to use my SR-71. When I try to use a KISS cart I get the same 3 flashing lights. Bummer.
I have a hammer top that I stashed away unused.....is it possible to use the hammer top with the 7.4 rod?? I have a black rod somewhere but I would have to look for it.....any help would be appreciated.

Use the hammer top. It's bullet proof. Will handle a SR with no problems.
@thegoo listen to @Fredster951 he knows what hes saying.
Alos side note, i just got he final triton in my hands and took it apart, gazed over its WTF design and started to ponder if there could be issues and essentially went into the "what if" mode for 30 minutes and said fuck it only way to find out if i start using it. As i started to assemble this little itty bitty monster i gazed over my stash to see what oils i have to christen this new found toy and saw a empty jar with only a few drops of here and there, To my disappointment i was all frantic then I realized hold on i got people and they have people and im sure they have people so i made a few calls, guess what? my peoples where out drunk somewhere god knows only and their peoples where not even awake, something about to much good time today. So since i was disappointed again i called the for sure bet always will have it kind guy, a fella who goes by the name G no not me another G but hes like from another country so his G is pronounced differently so as to we are not confused whos the Real G and whos just a late comer. In other words testing starts tomorrow after i get my car back from some peoples.
Back to testing the Kiss Alpha C with what ever oil is left inside.

FINALLY got the chance to enjoy my Bender again thanks to @k3nd4l. I almost forgot how tasty it was (Bender...cooking...tasty...I know there's a joke there somewhere). Seems like the new hammer rods don't get as hot as the old ones cuz I got three bowls of abv looking like volcano abv (not the extra crispy, almost burnt stuff that I recall getting from the Bender pretty frequently in the past). Could just be my imagination tho.
