I finally gave in and bought some Chinese glass last Wed night. Out of five sellers, two orders arrived today.

The first to arrive was Steven. First impressions of the FC710 are extremely positive, I'm very impressed. The FC187 that came with it has a sunken Dewaar joint which really is going to cause some problems with some of my vaporizers. It's down almost a half inch. I may have received an odd piece, but I'm curious if it's a result of lowering the percs for V2. Anyone?

Yingmin's GB242 came in at the same time today. During testing I sadly found it leaking at the bottom of the return funnel. I reached out to Yingmin and he responded quickly and ready to assist. I'm impressed with his response and offer to replace it immediately and look forward to receiving the new one.

Both of these were delivered to my door within 8 days of ordering. Regardless of the small 'hiccups' I'm actually really pleased about the experience thus far.

More Gifs :science:

Time lapse of the heating of my banger:

Edit: picture of the dab :D

The dab:

My "carb cap" had a little bit of reclaim on it so that's why there's a bit of vapor already in there.

Obligatory endless dab:

Yup, I checked the vid, and the ball was just straight up the whole time I was pulling.

It's a bit hard to see in the gif, but in the video of the dab I can clearly see the ball bouncing around, so I'm thinking I was probably just pulling too hard for the water test gif.
Can confirm, @DieHard there is definitely a distinct difference between water testing and actually hitting the piece, the ball moves much more from the draw resistance and you get better recycling action.

I'm thinking of getting the FC-187 to see what something left-handed would be like or the FC710. I haven't seen many comparisons. My main question though is about the FC710 and herbs. I still haven't tried nor do I understand what dabbing is. Most of the comments about the 710 talk about how great it is for concentrates. Does it work well with herbs also?

It should do but the joint is male so you may need an adapter or a female gong.

I don't have one (don't know if I'll buy one). But it would be good for preserving the flavor of your herbs. Unfortunately, the FC-710 requires a harder initial pull to get it going properly.

For many vaporizers, the draw speed required for the piece would overpower the heater and reduce the vapor density of your hits.

You *could* get it working, but in reality, there are a million other pieces which would probably be better suited to your glass needs for flowers. Yingmin5 just released the GB-187-S which is similar to the FC-187. Though I'm hoping the GB-187-s I ordered is a better build quality. It should be hitting US Soil any day now, I'll be sure to post a full report on both pieces head-to-head

Ok, pulling the trigger on a GB-187 since Yingmin's got em back in stock. I figured that despite all the rest of my glass, my d020-D is still my daily driver and given that I might as well give it an upgrade

Things just got tricky, however, when I realized that yingmin has 2 different GB-187s, one with the label and one without. After noticing this picture I wrote him to confirm, and they are indeed actually two different pipes.

The one with the logo looks like a much nicer build: slightly larger with a bigger base and a clearly more intricate perc. However I obviously don't want that crappy logo muddling up my glass. :disgust: I've never tried using simple green or anything else to remove labels, but would generally prefer to avoid soaking anything I vape through daily in chemicals, "natural" or not...

Those of you with a GB-187, which one do you have and do you like it? Does anybody by any chance have both? Is it worth figuring out the label removal for the slightly nicer piece? And while I'm at it, how do they stack up to the d020-D? Worth the upgrade? Thanks!

Are these listed as the same piece, same link?

I'd say with vaping yes, smoking hell no. If I were to combust with the diffy pump I think my lungs would be in for a ride. However for vaping I think it will do just fine and personally am going to order a female gong for my solo just for this, with a high airflow stem I don't think there should be much issue of functionality, I do however have quite the hard pull and lung capacity.

Comes with the carb cap . AND in several colors. For <$32 BUT the shipping is almost as much as the piece!
IIRC This is the seller that @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd got the Quartz swings from on aliexpress.
0 transactions 0 feedback. Untested waters. The white one they have listed has a price sticker in the picture. $249.99:lol:

Sure it may work for vaping, but how well? I'm sure it would provide good flavor, but I sometimes like to whitewall the glass with dense vapor (damn cloud chasing!).

Please let us know how it goes, I haven't seen many people report back on the FC-710 paired with a vaporizer.

I have a Female GonG for my Nano, but I tend to rarely use male bubblers because they get gunked up fast with reclaim. Really wish they'd make more pieces with female fittings!

I only use my FC 710 with my e-nano. Its wonderful. Now if you mean vaping flowers.... No clue as I only use concentrates these days.

I'll let you guys know what it hits like with the EVO and flowers when i get it. I'm a flower guy, and the EVO offers a significant amount of restriction so that'll give a different experience

I haven't used it yet, but I already see a problem with the upline. It's a bit too restrictive. You really have to pull to get airflow. Looks to me like the top most perc has a smaller hole than the others so that is probably causing the restriction.

Water test videos are coming for both pieces...
