I use a "Ginsu" knife or a good steak knife on the acrylic stem, then a fine emory board to smooth it out.

I have never used the long tube/stem that comes with the LB. Now that I have a brand new box, I was thinking about using it, but not the length it is now. I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is the safest way to cut these stems in half? I think half size would be perfect for me. :)

You probably already resolved this, but I remembered having read it when I saw this cutter on a surplus site - and lo-and-behold somebody had already added "vaporizer" as a Tag for the item...bwahahaha :D

That's an interesting little gadget. We haven't attempted the modification yet because hubby is bringing the tools home after 5PM est. :)

I never thought about using an emory board to sand it down after the cut, but I will be doing that now. Thanks! :)

I finally had the opportunity to try the WPA yesterday. Wow. I would never have believed that the LB could work with a water pipe, but I'm here to tell you that it does; and well! In addition, the hits were cooled to a point I hardly could feel them.

Great job Magic Flight! :D

Mom you mother fucker!! Glad to see you got the WPA! I def agree you can barely feel the hits but get ripped as hell!

JDS, I can't let you have all the fun!

Lol....takes one to know one Vito!

Showed your morning flight vid to a friend of mine (who also tried out the WPA and a few other goodies) and noticed you changed the music from the original track. Loved it. Just as entertaining this time as the first.

Youtube gave me trouble about the orignal.
Now there are both versions up.
One is called Morning Flight Classical, the other is morning flight Gospel.
The classical one can't be viewed on websites or embedded and must be viewed on Youtube.

Vitolo,
Well I saw you guys talking about the tubing and the shorty stems it comes with. I was intrigued so I went ahead and ordered a 2ft whip from Blissville. Then I saw I needed some battery caps and got those two. I didn't want to only spend $10 so I went on to Puffitup's website and got the OEM MFLB grinder as well. =)

We were successful! Hubby was able to cut the stems with the PVC pipe cutter. I also sanded them down very nicely with an emory board. :)

I'm sure some of you guys have tried the Ed's TnT wood stems, I just ordered cocobolo and amboyna burl.

I have to say the amboyna burl stem is amazing!!! It has a natural spicey flavor and smell that really brings out the bud more. the wood crisps the vapor and cools it down better than glass or acrylic and I highly recommend it for any MFLB connoisseur!

see my review here. http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=152927#p152927

I've been wanting to try a cherry stem too I may order that eventually. Has anyone tried the cherry or walnut stems from magic-flight's website and can say anything about the flavor/texture of them?

From JDsupreme videos it appears you cannot use a wood stem with the water adapter and MFLB. Is there anyway around that depending on what bong/bubbler you are using?

The WPA is designed to use the box native....your bong is the stem

I suppose you could hold it so the stem goes right in the WPA hole but that seems like a bit too much trouble. It works perfectly the way it is!

I have the walnut but can not really taste much. I will say that it really assists in cooling down the vapor and makes the inhale much smoother. Now on a different note I am already noticing slight fraying at the edge where I place my mouth. Has anyone else seen this?

It's a bit concerning to me because I know the quality that Ed puts out and its almost uncharacteristic of any of his products. I will post a picture when I get home tonight.

If these are unfinished (besides perhaps a light edible oils rubdown)... the fraying would be normal. You're introducing moisture onto the wood. Its going to soak it up and swell. Let it dry out. You might also want to buy some very fine grit sandpaper and use it occasionally. I would think, restoring it with a bit of oil, might not hurt either. Heck, you could probably find something that enhances the flavor at the same time.

Hey guys, I was looking to acquire some more powerful batteries for my MFLB. I know this has been asked numerous times (because I recall reading it :)) so if someone could tell me the page number this was discussed, or point me in the direction of another thread concerning this. Or perhaps someone could explain which type of batteries would work and fit in my LB more efficiently than the batteries I have now, which are the ones which were included with the purchase.

Probably you have Imedion 2400 mAh LSD battery. Batteries above 2400mAh should be more powerful or/and longer lasting. Be careful to choose a good brand, I've bought some random labeled 2700mAh and they actually were 1000mAh.

I would love one! I've tried many times to work that search bar, and I'm convinced it doesn't want me to find anything.

Anyway, thank you very much :)

A quick post to say THX MF for the package:
  • I love the glass stem as I'm a periodic stem cleaner and both acrylic and wood are not iso friendly [/*]
  • I still have to test the bong adaptor[/*]
  • And the finished version of the PA feels much more sturdy then the beta one (my "batt adaptor" part was badly flaking with the friction of the metallic circle)[/*]
I'll come back for further in deth reviews during the week-end!

Still loving my new LB and PA. I think the LB is starting to chill out, which is great. I also realized I have kept my Vapor Warez as a backup vaporizer, but I don't think I'd ever want to use it again. It's much easier to use the LB with the PA! I might sell it in the future. :)

I've received a Power Adapter and Water Pipe Adapter for my Launch Box as recently as today. I'm extremely pleased with receiving both. Unfortunately an EHLE 100ml white label is still on it's way, and I cannot use the W.P.A. at this time.

Keep reading if you would like to hear my thoughts about these two items:

The Water Pipe Adapter is light weight, of the same hue as the Launch Box and Power Adapter, providing an all-round feeling of quality and durability among these products. A push-back ring (like the one in your L.B.) is used as a seal between the Water Pipe Adapter and the box. No qualms about the male 14mm adapter portion, I like it just the way it is and what it is designed to do. I will say, however, that it feels thick and made of what feels like a dense resilient plastic rather than glass. I don't know if it is actually glass or plastic, but then again it's not an issue of mine nor a complaint about the product. I'm sure someone would chime in about it.

I like the concept of the product, it really appeals to me. I cannot use it at this time simply because it arrived before my EHLE bong.

Using the Power Adapter is just as excellent as others have been raving about for some time now. It's just like a fresh battery, one that is easier to grip and actuate, that can be set to the level of your preference, and will never loose power over time or die out completely. The Power Adapter has two components that can be disconnected from one another. This allows you have the Power Adapter to be inserted into the wall all the time, and when you're ready to take flight, you simply reconnect the cord plugged into the wall to the dial/battery portion and use as normal. This allows the Launch Box to be a suitable home desktop vaporizer. It possible to leave the battery/dial portion on your desk and simply remove power from it when not in use or as desired; put the thing ontop your desktop computer or stick it in a drawer if you like.

Needless to say, the Power Adapter it is certainly worth the investment!

Other items included are: a large black bag, an instruction page for the P.A, and a plastic bag with an extra push-back ring probably for the W.P.A.. The black bag is just like the one that lines the tin that comes with a new L.B. except that it is on a larger scale; a very useful item.

So far I can only speak on the Power Adapter, which is thoroughly good by the way, but I can foresee the Water Pipe Adapter being just as good when that time finally comes.

From one MFLB enthusiast to another I can tell you that it does makes your experience with the device all that much better. You will not regret either purchase. :2c:

I don't think the search function works at all, that or it has the worst algorithm of all time. Its absolutely useless.
