So is the battery covered under warranty? I've had the FF since October, but now, it only holds a charge for only one bowl =\

I'm not sure about the warranty. It may be they covered it because it was only about a month of use, and they are a reputable company.

I recieved two replacement batts. Newer ones seam better, but it is FF weakness.
I still use my old batts, I get one bowl out of them, unit seems fine, I wonder why they told
you not to?

I don't understand that either, but using it is pretty frustrating anyway, so I'll follow the recommendation. Besides, I can rely on my Herbie at home, and I use pre-filled CO2 hash oil cartridges (from the medical co-ops) with an ecig when I'm on-the-go.....not when I'm driving, of course.

I wonder, do you still have to stir the contents if you grind your 'stuff' to a real fine level? Or if you only pack the chamber half full?
Or when you pack the chamber with stuff on the bottom and fill the rest up with less important ingredients?
...what if they made the chamber wider and decrease its height, wouldnt that be more efficient and wouldnt that reduce or eliminate the need for stirring the bowl at all? I suppose it could affect the venturi effect though.

:myday:
My impression (which may be totally wrong) is that:
1. The heat turns the THC to vapor and releases it from the flower.
2. The heated THC vapor tries to rise.
3. The airflow through the flower is not equally spread; the air seeks the path of least resistance, and tunnels form, with most of the airflow going through those tunnels.
4. Some of the heated THC vapor becomes trapped beneath flower pockets, because no air tunnel is closeby.
5. When the flowers cool down, the THC cools down and is redeposited onto the flower.

So stirring becomes necessary to hopefully move the trapped THC closer to an air tunnel on the next hit. Likewise, those who prefer to just drop uncrushed buds into the bowl should crush the buds for the final hits of the bowl. (Unless you have so much weed that you don't care if you waste some of it, and follow your own path of least resistance, which is least effort.)

I have combusted with out the screen just by adjusting my intake speed while I was toggling the button.I also believe it was helped by my packing.Although I guess it could of been pyrolisis.I read the def of this word and im guessing it is what happens right before combustion but im not positive on that.lol

When you combust in the FF, you will know it...it's an unmistakeable and dramatic event....your mouth will fill with smoke, as if you've lit a pipe, and smoke will pour from the sides when you open the lid. You will smell smoke everywhere in the room. The FF itself will be pretty much unusable until you give it a couple good ISO cleanings.

Pyrolysis isn't necessarily a precurser to combustion; it happens in a void of oxygen, which is why a dense pack can cause charring (high enough temps but little or no oxygen in parts of the material due to density). You could pack the FF, hit that button like a maniac, char the material like crazy, and still not suffer combustion. (In fact, this happens all the time to me if I overpack.) Not that I'm suggesting this as a viable usage method, mind you.

Where exactly? From under the edge of the bowl, by the bottom plate?

All water thankfully. I panicked at first, but I blew out on the heating vents then quickly inserted battery anf heated it several times blowing and sucking until battery died, working fine thank god.

It's a good idea to ensure a device has fully dried before powering it up after a submersion. If there's any moisture you can cause more damage from shorts etc than if you just wait for it to dry. Some folks do a full ISO submersion after a toilet drop, but that takes serious guts. I would just let it dry completely before powering.

Yes like where screen is. Im really worried i stuck it in there good but thats weired. I think the screen hooked it out when i went in for a clean

Me, personally, I would send it back and have FF repair it. To use it without that gasket in place is a bad idea...debris will scoot right under the bowl lid and into the heating area. (BTW, that's silicone, not rubber. Nothing to worry about!)

Take a look at photo 3 in this post. You can see the gasket around the screen at the bottom.

There are only three choices...do nothing and risk problems later from debris hitting the heater and electronics; open it up and try and re-seat it (you may or may not fix it, you might break something else, you definitely void the warranty)...or call FF (assuming that's where you got it) and get them to fix or replace it.

(2) According to some trademark search website, NWT Holdings has trademarks for such things as Firefly, Vapor Surfing, et cetera, but also Butterfly and Dragonfly.

Interesting that "Butterfly" was filed for only in September of last year, but "Dragonfly" dates back to October of 2012.

Maybe Dragonfly was a possible idea for the original name? And the Butterfly is a new product?

I don't particularly want a vaporizer called "Butterfly," so I hope it's an accessory with a clever name.

Just sayin'. :ko:

They seem like different names aimed at male (Dragonfly), and female (Butterfly) markets?

Well turns out the battery is only covered for the first 30 days while the device itself is covered for 5 years. Can't say I'm surprised with my battery though since my FF has been getting daily use since I first bought it. Couldn't be any happier.

I'd contact them anyway. It couldnt hurt and theyve got a good customer service reputation.

I contacted them after two months, after I had bought two that went down, and they still sent me two new ones.

So I think I'm finally getting good with my ff. I can get consistent clouds, and take my abv to an even uniform dark brown without stirring. I dislike battery life but considering I get atleast 2 and a half bowls, each hit leaves me quite medicated and a bowl is no less then 10 hits with big noticeable clouds. Sometimes more depending on my mood. It has certainly become my favorite, it's super easy to clean. When being conservative I can make a bowl last all day with little to no waste and no need for long sessions. When I'm relaxing or stressed or want to get ripped fast I can clear 2 bowls in under 5 min and be super medicated. yet I can also sit on bowls low temp while enjoying a movie. I don't think I can ever replace my ff. Too bad nothing cures vas, I'd love to hook it up to a waterpipe

Ahh geez I'm really dissapointed with the battery life. I can barely get through a bowl.I've gone through 3 bats too only one holds any sort of a charge. I like my FF on occasion but having to rely on this is getting painful

I had a brief exchange with Sasha R yesterday regarding the recent set of less-than-adequate batteries FF sent out. His advice is to make sure they stay at least at room temps...apparently their charge cycle is materially impacted, negatively, by being below room temps. Considering where I live seems to be locked in a new ice age, I doubt my batts have seen "room temp" since November...which may explain my lousy battery performance.

I'm getting a couple of the new batch to do some comparative testing...and maybe EDA has some wisdom since we know for sure he has one of the new ones.

So keep your batts warm...and hopefully we'll have some more concrete data on the new batch soon.

I too have seen even more diminished bat life in the cold just like with my pax. I'll be interested in seeing if you find any change in battery performance

Its like an old shitty cell phone you have to leave on the charger till you need it , then put it back on charger when done to be sure you have juice for when you need it again.

But the one bat can be pulled off the charger and blink red on the first try!. Come on. Obviously no good

It looks and tastes so good if only it stayed on
