Cheap High Quality Bubbler

okay, weird.. he just sent it to me today.
I was looking for it in other threads and couldn't find it, I hope it is an updated design, I really like the new mouthpiece but I don't understand why he doesn't have the splash ring in it anymore, it seems to function better with it.:2c:
I hope he fixes the Torus, that's the the one I'm eager to get the most.

I ordered this from CCG as well. I want to try them out and see if they have improved. Has anyone ordered this rig before?

I did not order that one but I did just get the other recycler that was posted from CCG. It was my first order from them and I was not sure what to expect since some had posted issues in the past.

I placed the order and got tracking a few hours later. By the time I woke up the tracking was available on usps and said "acceptance" so I set a text alert. I think it arrived in 9 days total.

The glass is kind of thin. Especially the mouthpiece. But for such a complex piece at 33 dollars (used a coupon) I am not going to complain.

check out the new mouth piece design on stevenmlz piece http://image.dhgate.com/other_962007812_00.jpg

I believe that's an old picture, before he put the ring above the pillars, he doesn't put a ruler next to the new designs anymore.

It is the old one.

Is the top ring gone?

Woo hoo!!!! That's a MP I can get behind.
Ugh... It would've been nice if more people would've voiced their opinion when we had the debate in the thread, because this delay, which is probably going to set things back over a month with CNY coming up, wouldn't have happened. I actually got hate messages for saying the bent neck on top would look like crap .

Old design. Posted long over 3 weeks ago in the original Custom Glass Design Thread, before I helped him with the changes for everything in the newest pillar, aside from the neck.

I have something to show you guys...

The FC-186 Matrix-Pillar-Hybrid!!! (*Produced by stevenlmz79* water test coming soon)

The top section is going to be 1cm taller he said.

So, what do you think?

**Edit** Price is about $55

Dude, don't you see it? your actions can ruin this whole thing for everybody, you just want to get your way at any cost, @blankrider on the other hand is doing quite the opposite.

In reference to the picture posted my @MGG:
The large peyote pillar posted by @EverythingsHazy is prototype number 1 after he extensively bothered Steven to get the neck he wanted even though he was asked multiple times not to interfere with this specific seller. He is not running this project even though he has been pretending to in the thread. I will be posting prototype number 2 once it is available to me.

@EverythingsHazy please contact Steven about buying prototype number 1 so FC does not have to deal with you caring on about you getting your way on the so called FC-186

I was actually told that I should have Steven name my piece the E(verythings)h(azy)-186, because I was the only one who was saying that the bent neck was a bad idea, and to let the "Full Sized Matrix Pillar" have the bent neck from the top.

----------------------------

So.... I'm still trying to see if Steven can make one of these the way it should have been all along. The bubbler style neck, with the splash chamber at the top of the elongated pillars. Hopefully we don't have to wait until after CNY to see a prototype.

:hmm: I'm loving these FC versions, and so far they are representing smoother and more logical (e.g. sidecar) versions of the mobius series; whereas, a GB-186 (FC-186?) has never been a fan fave among mobius connoisseurs.

Honestly, does a reliable matrix birdcage barrel really need a second water barrel above it with a 7-10 arm perc? I feel it just ends up being an excessive and frustrating setup (like most birdcage pieces with a secondary perc) because it ends up stripping a good amount of flavor..

though I do agree with the bubbler mouthpiece feeling. this might be the first matrix bong with that actual bubbler pull; however, I feel the arm's perc might strip just a little more than necessary. Because of the reliability in the matrix birdcage, and the main purpose of the setup I'd maybe consider something more like the atomic perc (like the one kathy released) for the top piece if I had any say. I'm kind of just now showing up though, and haven't looked through ALL the previous talks over this.

Ummm What?

What matrix to tree piece is there?
I haven't seen one...
If you're talking about the matrix pillar, thats something multiple people (Including myself) have been looking forward to...

I have a GB 186 and love it...

It could handle being a bit higher quality in a few spots but thats just dhgate glass...

EDIT:
Love the pic with the dabbers sticking through the egg holes in that first link. :)
The holes on my one line up so the dabber will just fall through
It's a cool little rig though - it's become one of my favourites for dabs.
Ordered it before I knew what I was doing. Damn GAS.
I tried to resist the urge...

There's been tree to matrix pieces (which I still have one 11" bong), and matrix to honeycomb. Just never been much of a fan of the other percs I tried that are with matrix or birdcage (so far).

This new egg looks a lot better than her last one.
Kathy just added some new pieces, most exciting of which is this slightly janky lookin' fab-egg.

I got the first one with the honeycomb perc and it's fallen out of use. The angled joint was a big downside which also let the water ride farther up than necessary but I also didn't like how it hit. This one looks like a huge improvement and alleviates those concerns. This is very tempting, especially at that price.

Is there a generic name for the technique of double walling and creating voids like this? A classification that both skulls and eggs would fall under? It seems to me there have been some very cool cylinders using this technique as well that must have some different name.
Sorry to ask again, but I would really like a name to describe this technique. It MUST have a name...

I admit that I favored the bent neck at the top of the can, but seeing how ugly it turned out (specially at the mouth piece end, that was a poor job) I have no choice but to go with the next best, which is the bubbler style.

I already messaged Kathy about a water test. She said that shes very busy right now and that Chinese New Year is coming soon but she can have the test within a week or so. Fingers crossed it works as good as it looks this time

me too... although actually i would probably prefer something like the small pillar, in the sense of being at the top of the can and having some kind of visibility of it at the same time...

Me too, but I learned from the beginning that both pillars were not going to share the same mouthpiece, kind of disappointed, the small pillar has the best IMO.

That's was part of my side of the argument. The original pillar doesn't even have a bent neck coming from the top. It has a long curved neck coming from the side. One that steven's people weren't going to accurately replicate. The fact that it came from the side, coupled with the length, and curve, also prevents water from getting into your mouth.

Every time I said something though, I got attacked, and we ended up getting screwed with the timing now because of it. Nobody was listening to the logic behind my ideas, or even making any counter claims.
Just arguing that they weren't in agreement with the ones who blindly wanted a bent neck. Every issue with the bent neck was pointed out prior to it being made. The good thing about forums, is that all of those posts are still around.

Looks great I have an open order with her as well for this pending payment.
Sent a message requesting a water test, the more demand, perhaps she will upload it sooner. Steven's function uploads both sold and unsold me ;)

Bent necks are not bad, what is bad is the poor job they did on that large pillar, nobody expected to be so ugly and amateurish looking.

Yeah I have, but from Kathy. Got to say kinda disappointed, it recycles, but it's not pretty. Mine has no vortex whatsoever.

This is a maaaaajor bummer as I've been anxiously awaiting this lil piece. I think it channels a skimask glass or nexus glass puck style type of thing. Any chance u can show any pictures. Maybe even a video??

I have the same one and it vortexes pretty good if you have the right water level and draw speed. Mine is my daily driver through my e-nail, big fan.
