Is my ABV useless?

I have a solo and a LSV but to be honest I use the solo 90% of the time.
I vape at maximum temp on both vaporizers so my ABV is pretty dark when it's over and I vape till no vapor comes out of the vaporizers.

I have put aside around 100gr od ABV I decided to make cannabutter. I did it before with trimmings and flowers and it was good but this time I used all 100 gr. of ABV and 500gr of butter (but no flowers).

I made chocolate chips cookies but there is barely any effect at all and I ate 3 times more than when I did butter with trimmings and almost nothing is happening...

Considering my high vaping temp and vaping till nothing comes out am making the ABV useless?

Most of the time I just eat my ABV. 1 tbsp gives me a Vicodin type effect for most of the day. Can make you drowsy though. How much butter is 500g stick wise?

1 stick or 1/2 cup butter is equal to 4 ounces, or 113 grams. (found on google)
Haha. Guess I could've done that. I think the problem might be using too much butter? I think the high temps may get most of the pollen out of the flower, so to speak. There are probably still some goodies in there but the effects will most likely be good for sedation and pain management. That's usually the case when I make butter.

It's an acquired taste, for sure. It doesn't bother me although it does blend well on PB toast. Just be careful not to inhale while taking a bite. It'll make you choke, I've done it. Most of the time, I just pop it in my mouth and swallow with water. Fairly quick and painless.

I would recommend to start your edibles experiments with smaller amounts, while you are figuring out the variables. If you use 100g in your first attempt, and it doesn't come out well, then you've wasted 100g. But if you start with a smaller batch (say, 1 "firecracker" or 1 tray of brownies) then you can bravely experiment with smaller batches: cooking time, temperature, amounts, technique, ingredients, etc. until you have discovered the "perfect" technique. For example the last tray of brownies I made had 4g of ABV, you could have made 25 trays of Puddleglum-strength edibles (25x16=400 individual brownies!!!) with your 100g! Note: I just sprinkled the ground-up ABV into the brownie mix; I did not bother processing it to canna-butter first.

ps ABV gives a very different "high" than fresh green bud since most of the THC is gone, so maybe that is why you were disappointed, you were expecting something else? ABV edibles won't make you want to party and listen to Dark Side of the Moon, but they are good medicine for things like insomnia, nausea, and pain relief. :)

I have made butter with about 21 gs of avb from the pax on high, and through 2 gs of fresh bud in. Made a batch of rice crispies with the butter and everyone who I had try them said they were too potent. I also got about 20 chunks of crispy from the batch. Don't underestimate it lol.

First the flavor, then the buZzz settles in....
I use my abv in small amounts at a time, in the form of firecrackers and though its not in potent dosis, I use it to top off my high after I just vaped, as I wash it down with a beer or two.

My face is melting...
Yeah, I'd try it straight, Well not straight, but as a topping of some kind and see where it takes you before I would totally give up on it. PBJ's, ice cream, eggs and toast are just a few ways to get it down.

Start small and work your way up. I'd also do it on an empty stomach to establish a baseline.

As long as it isn't burnt, it's not disagreeable. The people I've introduced to it are ususally suprised by the taste. It smells worse than it tastes.

I actually prefer the effects of ABV to vapor. It lasts me hours and is more of a body high than vapor. I don't reduce it to dust for this reason. My ABV would be medium roast coffee in color if I had to describe it.

IME, abv is best used in edibles if used with some fresh green. Don't know about firecrackers or other quick use methods, but when making butter or oil I use the abv as filler. This tones down some of the edginess you sometimes get from using just fresh, and adds a good bit to the buzz. If all is available, 1/2 abv, 1/4 OK nugs (popcorn or lower plant), 1/4 trim.

Always a good idea to test a little as soon as made (on a bagel, mixed in with pasta, whatever) to get a feel for potency - then another test run after you make whatever larger batch you're cooking. Usually eat one cookie or brownie and calc dosage of how many for who from there.

We put the abv into capsules and my partner takes them before a meal. (needs the fat in the meal to help activate the herb)

agreed with ABV into capsules --

use abv and reclaim oil and run a qwik qwiso wash ---- just use iso n your fine --- then with remaining amount mix the oil with some coconut oil from supermarket -- or toro health food store and grab coconut oil and spend 5$ extra on lecithin flakes/granules ----- this is the KEY to all baked or digested edibles ! this helps digestion and increases effect and length by up to 85 % !!!!!!!! very true !

grab it and make 2 batches one with n other without --- and it is night n day :)

anyways -- in a small lil glass dish melt down -- just warm -- under 100 degrees mix the coconut oil , lecithin and the oil with thc ! (this step will mix it all together so it is spread even throughout recipe ! )

now add this mixture into each capsule ---- coconut oil gets solid at room temp so the capsules will be solid :) like a gel cap :) with a milt coconut aftertaste

also use same method and add to melted candy and let cool --- n joy :)

this is amazing way to use every drop and will amaze with results -----

its still real thc after process ! yipes !

I also vape my material very dark, but I made coconut/lecithin/abv capsules of 100 grams of dark abv and it works. It's just a relxant, not a stimulant. Very, very mild and pleasant. I use them as mild painkillers and to calm down.

ABV butter/oil definitely has uses. It is not a "high," per say, but more of painkiller/sedative. Your real problem is the sheer volume of butter you used. Less butter means a higher concentration (presuming an efficient extraction). Your process may also be wrong. There are a lot of variable here, but I vape my flower to a dark, chocolate brown and I end up with a light green butter that delivers a nice dose of pain relief for a few hours.

But I like it!
I started making budder from ABV a year ago, after first just putting abv into brownie mix - it worked, but in a composty kind of way.

Now I think it's one of the simplest and most versatile ways to use things. I made a batch of cocobudder a few days ago - 1 lb of coconut oil, ~40 grams of 1/2 fresh (decarbed) herb and 1/2 abv, 3 tablespoons of lecithin, and 12 hours on the sloe cooker, on low, with the occasional stir.

I have the cocobudder in a glass tray on the counter, and everywhere smells of herb. I just put a teaspoon into a cup of coffee, with some honey and milk, and it tastes like a smoky mocha - it might be time for another now!

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
I'm gonna start making QWISO with it, then turning that into massage oil. I'm hoping with some nice essential oils I'll have a more discreet, maybe more effective way to manage my joint pain.

This is what I would do If i saved my ABV. I can't consume it in any real quantity in edibles or concentrates without experiencing dreadful headaches myself.

Rude boy - Enchantre has a massage oil recipe in her signature. I kinda used that last time - a strong batch of cocobudder, mixed with vegetable glycerin, and a couple of drops of some essential oil the wife handed me. I just put a bunch on my hands not 15 minutes ago, after giving a baggie of it to my little old neighbor lady :)

~~edit
Here is a brand new fave - Cafe sMocha (best I could come up with)

1/2 cup of strong coffee (or whatever your fave hot beverage is)
large scoop cocobudder
1/2 teaspoon, or to taste, honey
top with milk (or related chilled milkey beverage)

Enjoy!
