Yes, in order to diagnose your box as running cold use these tips from the vaporpedia http://www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/Magi...w_can_I_tell_if_my_Box_is_running_too_cool.3F

2) Do I contact the website I bought the box from or MF directly for warranty service?

http://magic-flight.com/warranty.php MF will take care of your warranty.

I have two questions:

1) My box seemed to be running a little cool, so I broke out my 'back up' MFLB that I've been saving "just in case." Wow! There's no comparison. The new box performs leaps and bounds better than the original box that I got back in February of this year. Does an under-performing box fit under the criteria of the warranty for replacement?

2) Do I contact the website I bought the box from or MF directly for warranty service?

Thanks in advance!

yes it is under warranty, contact blisssville.com for a warranty replacement

What is special about the trench of the magic flight box that makes it heat up?

Now THIS is funny. Before anyone attempts to answer this, check out the following:

http://forum.grasscity.com/toking-tools/888544-better-cheaper-vapourizer.html

MagicFlight should comp me a box for this one. :brow:

This guy is seeding information about how he's going to build a better Box, while offering a comparable warranty at a comparable price point and he doesn't even know how the fucking box heats up?

Fucking hilarious.

When I first read that thread there with all of his seemingly great ideas, I suggested that he come here (not thinking that he'd post in this thread) to bang around some of his thoughts and ideas. Little did I know that he doesn't even have a basic idea about how the LB does what it does. Now I feel like shit for even suggesting it.

perhaps it is made out of resistance wire that heats up when a current is applied to it? but that's just a guess on my part.

You expect a company to give you the details of how their product works so that you can use it to take business away from them? And it is downright disrespectful to ask on THEIR thread. Please nobody tell him any information on the inner workings of MFLB. If you think you are capable of creating your own improved product, then create your own, don't trick people into telling you how to steal somebody else's product. Magic Flight is an amazing company that has stood by their customers from day one and what you are doing is terrible.

P.s. Sorry about the rant but what he was doing just made me angry lol

TOTALLY agree. I don't see anything wrong in improving on an already existing product. All he would have had to do was to create a thread and bring forth some of the ideas that he mentioned at GC while being totally forthright. If he would have done that, while I think he may have received some resistance, he would also have sparked some interesting conversation on the possibility of improving an already great product, but coming into this thread while hiding his true intentions is.........well hunter, you said it best.

Flaky to say the least, especially considering what he wrote at GC. He presented it as if he had all this shit worked out but then..........it's like, "Hey, I got this GREAT idea on how to build a better combustion engine. I've got the whole thing figured out. I even know how much it will cost and how to warranty it." He then writes a letter to Ford asking them what a piston is.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's really an induction vaporizer being that it heats up and cools so fast with just an electric battery as opposed to a conduction vaporizer like the iolite that uses gas to heat up the chamber then pass that heat energy to the herb sitting in the "Pot"and the air surrounding the herb and a convection vaporizer, like most whip vaporizers, which just heat an element that heats the air passing through it. Damn vaporizers are like cooking utensils just small and portable and have different uses based on certain needs.

If I'm wrong forgive me for sounding stupid ;)

Oh jeeze what a joke  my favorite part about this whole thing is his signature at GC "Think for yourself. " HAHAHA

The paper rings around the top should be cosmetic, but the rubber caps are vital to keeping the goo (battery acid) from leaking out.

The caps should be an easy find at a home improvement store.
well do you think I could just go in there and ask where the black battery caps are? Or would they not know wtf i'm talking about? Is there a special term I need to use in order to get my question answered the easiest? I don't want to say its for rechargeable batteries that I use for my portable vape.

You could and just leave out the portable vape part  I'm sure they'd have something that would work. I've seen them for sale on blisssville and also here on VapeWorld if you'd prefer ordering online and can wait on them.

I don't think you'll find them at a home improvement store, as they're not a standard part. You would only need them for peeled batteries. The label serves the same function as the cap does, so normal people wouldn't need it.

But on the off chance they do carry them, you would need to know the battery size. They're AA cells, also known as 14500 or 14505 cells (For their dimensions, 14.5mm dia. x 50mm long)

$7 shipped for four:

Blisssville sells them for $0.80 a pair. If you send them an email prior they will ship it for a buck or 2 if that's all you're ordering.

$7 for 4 batt caps?!? HA  :o

so what do I say in the email? Can you please not charge me the $5 you charge for shipping and instead charge me less? I didn't think you could do that? Because with there regular shipping it would be $7 for 4 caps from Blissville.

Hey VapeNStone

The reason that your batteries did that is because you're storing them in a metal container. (The magic flight tin) When you do this without caps it causes the batteries to short out and overheat. Until you order more caps, an easy solution is to cover the positive end of your batteries with a piece of scotch tape! Hope this helps! :)

Just send them an email asking about reduced shipping for small, inexpensive items. I'm pretty sure they still do that. They just put it in a small envelope.

Hey all, I just wanted to report on cleaning gunk off the plexiglass. I applied a little toothpaste to the offending area, rubbed it down in a circular motion (yeaaa baby) with a damp paper towel and voila! There's still a little residue but no biggie.

Does Magic Flight offer discreet shipping? I'm talking about not even the words "Magic Flight" on the label. I wouldn't want anyone to Google it, revealing my favorite hobby. I think it's time for me to pick up the Power Adapter and Car Accessory.

EDIT: I also emailed MF directly.

A crumb or two gets there on occasion, but I don't consider that "losing herb". It is very small amounts that can be easily swept back into the trench with a brush.
It can be avoided by keeping the box level, but is minimal.

Ok thanks was just checking it's normal. I get more than a few crumbs in there but that is only when its really fine and I'm walking with it in my pocket.
