Custom Glass Ideas/Designs Thread

Most probably a wider end - all the SSV glass is handmade and has some variations...

I had one SSV wand that you could barely get the hose into, another one it would just slide in super easy...

From an airflow/drag perspective the SSV wand is probably best utilized with wide inner diameter, flexible tubing over the wand like in Tweak's picture, which could allow for the unconventional use of a 18mm male to 18mm male/female adapter as the H20 adapter on the other side of the whip.

Steven said he doesn't want to put the size in the pictures just yet so other sellers don't copy the designs, but that he will write more info when they are put up for sale. I guess that means when they are in stock and not pre-orders.

Also, by I should have a bubbler neck FC-Matrix Pillar prototype to show you guys, if his guys are on schedule.

I was thinking about the name, and if we want to include a number for search purposes, and keep the "FC" tag in it, we can call it the FC-1000 Matrix Pillar. It sounds cool, is simple enough to easily remember, it'll be easy to search, and most importantly, it's descriptive of the piece.

How bout FC-420? Also, do you think the preorder is bc of the upcoming holiday season shutdown? That's my guess at least.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Copy the designs that they copied from the original artist. Funniest things I've read all morning.

He won't let the perspective buyers know in the chance that someone can copy a piece that is already quite popular and could easily be obtained from elsewhere, seams odd to me.

Possibly. That, and to gauge interest before making a bunch of every piece. Not really sure exactly what his plan is...

The Chinese knockoff bong market is cut-throat
At least we are able to get some water test videos finally tho. I think all the sellers should have a water test up on each of their product listings. It would definitely help them sell more.

The CCG pyrology knockoff vid didn't help me, but @GSH sure did! The Taurus knockoff won't help either. Even if they fudge the water level on a properly made piece that wouldn't help it sell, just the opposite IMO. Though I do agree a proper piece with correct levels a vid can increase sales ten fold.

Well, there IS a reason why Marketing is a degree path in college. It is not something innate, it is learned, and doesn't come naturally to most people. We might expect folks to be better than some of these guys seem to be, but it may well be a cultural thing as well. "Selling oneself", for example, is entirely different in the east than in the west...

Would anyone be interested in a piece like this?

Yea, the water levels need to be better for the videos to help them. I'm sure they have iphones and androids out there, with high-def, slow-motion capabilities, which would make the videos a lot more useful as well. It'd show if the percs were firing evenly, as well as show how the splashing can be, so you know if you'll be getting a drink if you clear too hard. Since they don't use them though, it's kinda like having someone who doesn't have their drivers license, doing the driving for car commercials.

No idea on the FC-187 mouthpiece, but I could check.
The measured pic on the far right is my möbius clear bubbler mouthpiece - my favorite of all my pieces :)

What do you guys think of something like this?

I used to be big fan of beaker bottom pieces way back, but haven't had one in a while. Got the itch last night to look around for one with a fixed stem and came across this one. Really like the dewar style joint, but hate the price and the mega zob clown label.

My friend has one maybe alittle bigger and I really like it. Clearing it takes no effort and it clears very rapidly. I tried it with the arizer air. Cant wait to try his enano on it. I think if you can find a reasonably priced one it would be worth it. If not dhgate then thickassglass surely will have one.

Need more pixels, :D

Do my eyes deceive me or does it look like a rounded top? That would be glorious!!!!!
Post got me thinking, and I think a lot of why my US bubbler gets such little splashback is also due to the top of the can being rounded, in addition to a really good perc placement and choice. That being said, my bubbler has the MP hole significantly higher than the gb-187 sidecar (bubbler is pretty much a circ-turbine with a slightly slim and rounded top and removeable MP) which may play a factor in my results. (US glass is generally more QC and tested). Another thing of note on my piece is that the downstem flares out about halfway down the can, which I think adds to the stacking (might be of use for future pieces) and really helps control the pull of the piece, a feature I actually haven't seen on other bubblers aside from my own. (this section/flare is also worked, which might be why it isn't commonly seen)
Edit: after some water-testing, I do think that this is a reason why there is so little splashback on my piece, I can see the bubbles knocking off the top chamber and funneling back down smoothly, reducing the amount that would normally go up the MP, also the flared area on the downstem lets the turbine act as a proper second perc and actually somewhat holds the water in place

 I already asked for a better picture. It was like 1" tall before I enlarged it, and it was just as blurry looking lol
So, do you have the new prototype to show us?
It has been three days already.
still waiting on Stevens response. Having to wait till they started preparing for Chinese New Year to fix the bad neck on the last prototype, is making the process much slower. He told me he was sending a sample picture to me the day I posted that I should have one. He still hasn't.
