@z9, I just tried putting a screen in a 14-14 m-m adapter I had, and I cannot do it :(

It definitely seems doable, but my adapter isn't straight.
It has a bend In the middle so I can't get a stirring tool in the other end to get the damn thing into place.

I was using a solo screen, and it needed a little trimming to fit in there.

Yes and yes, if I understand you correctly. The so called shorty stem virtually eliminates any distance between the top of the heating element and the herb in the screen. This allows you to use minute amounts of herb—I'm talking log/Lotus size loads—in your LSV for a couple wide open hits. I also discovered that the VXL Cloud EZ Load bowls fit very nicely inside the longer joint, reducing by about 50% the distance between the top of the LSV heater and the herb inside the EZ Load bowls. IMO these techniques transform the LSV into a very conservative yet still open and powerful vaporizer.

I've been trying to read through the thread but there is a lot of information. Can someone summarize the cons of the life saber? It's on sale for $179 which seems like a good price. I really don't need another vaporizer.

- the unit gets very warm (still can touch) after some hours when not placed in upright position
- stirring the load between hits is recommended
- no digital temp control, no way to know at what temp you vape
- you can get absolutely wrecked :D

I'd like to use the smallest amount possible but don't know what type of setup you guy's are talking about...please inform me. And what and where to get what I would need, and how to use it in this way?

I have that adapter but what to do with it, other than using it in my water pipe?

Use it like whats pictured in a post above?

And as for making it work using small amounts of material, is it because the screen goes in the bottom of the wpa and I put my material on that and then a transfer wand into that, instead of putting the material in the usual way , in the wand, where I'd have to hamster style it with an amount that's too small to pack in there tight enough for it to not fall down into the heater area? Do I have the right idea?

I'm sorry, that link is for the WPA. I only ever use a water pipe with the lsv. Dry, I might use a SSV wand instead of the long transfer wand

For very small loads, I use a custom made "mini" ELB (easy load bowl) basket screen made from 2 arizer dome screens. The dome screens can be purchased directly from Arizer's website. The link below goes over a thread showing the process to make the mini ELB. These can hold a very small amount and are very efficient and clean in my experience.

Once the basket screen is made it will fit on the 18mm male end of most glass adapters. Below is a link to a post I made showing my accessories for my LSV at the time (have lots more now!). It shows the mini basket in use on various glass adapters and with the Pinnacle Water tube, which I highly recommend as well.

Nice... Just grind it up and cover the screen with herb and put a bit of kief on top, then blastoff! Also, if you want to keep your glass free of debris, double up those screens. :cheers:

Good tip! I never knew it made much difference. I usually go with luke warm water.

I broke my LSV in last night and REALLY enjoyed. Right now I'm running stock through the glass transfer wand. I am expecting a WPA but don't have it yet.

In the meantime I'm just pressing the mouthpiece side of the transfer wand flush against the reducer on my FC-187 and I was able to get a good enough seal to pull the vapor through.

Excellent taste and clouds!

It's a little bit cumbersome with the long wand and powercord but the experience is worth it. Honestly I think I feel this way because I have been spoiled by the convenience of all my portable models.

Speaking of which, I would love to see 7th Floor come out with a battery operated portable version of the LSV so you could use it around the house like I do with my MiniVap. Personally I would prefer to see them work on this rather than an updated SSV (SSSV). Too late I guess....

alright, still not able to fit the screen the way i would like it (see fredericks post) but managed a little workaround:

my scale tells me that at max it can fit 0.03g, this gives one medium sized hit. its a one hitter. stirring the load is not possible/worth it. it is working very nice for efficiency.




now for something a little different, have you seen those liquid pads for the crafty/mighty?

welp they fit my 18-18mm adapters in a very surprisingly good way.

it does worķ really well! best method to consume liquids imo,best taste,long lasting (what you see will give about 10 really strong big hits),handling.

Just ordered a D020-D to mate with my LSV. I need to get a 14mm/18mm reducer for my WPA. Suggestions of where to purchase this little piece. Shipping costs for this little piece of glass is almost as much as the the reducer itself.

What size screen are you trying to dome. It needs to be > 1" to get it to stick inside a 12mm opening.

Has anyone ever had the problem of their cord (where it connects to ape) quit working? If i hold it straight it works, but if it bends at all the vape wont turn on. What should my course of action be?
