I have the x-max 2 here.. 3 friends ordered .. Package is awesome and build quality too.. Clicking was confusing but i worked it out when topgreen guy shared me a video.
This things works better than flowermate IMO.. tastes better and uses less herb and extracts faster..
Auto shut off needs to be increased otherwise this is a perfect little vape for me..
Ou i also hope that the new batteries increase battery life i am getting like 6 x 3 minutes of fresh battery. This thing is a true fog machine , fills my bong with like crazy thick vapor ... I arranged to take a video with a friend on Sunday ..
Anyway again i like it very much.. i advise to add a big screen over the herbs before attaching the mouthpiece (from which i removed the tiny screen cause it was getting clogged too fast.)
I will share soon my full impressions on the unit and also the video..
I don't know what's the hate about ,but they seem to be an awesome company with nice customers service.. also they send me a pic of the next generation.. i think it is going to be a hit with its 2 x 2900 mah batts

Oh crazy, didn't hear about that thing. But the hate stems from the unisolated airpath. I agree once that is done (improved battery is just a bonus) this will be THE budget vape to beat in my opinion

When I plug this thing in it lights up like a disco ball and then nothing lol..no lights or anything.
Idk if its charging or not I'll report back in the morning. I did throw a spare battery I had laying around in it and it vaped like a beast for the most part lol. Thought it hit better than the imag plus.
Its just crazy to me for real cause there are seriously so many vapes similar to this one that should be good but everyones gotta half ass shit to make an insane profit instead of really making something that's gonna change the game.
This thing seems like it has so much.potential.

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a portable ecig-style vape at a low price; I've been lurking here on FC, reading threads about this and a few other Chinese vapes. I've sent an e-mail to Topgreen's sales e-mail address, but for now I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Since at least a few others on this thread have been in contact with them, maybe some folks can answer a few questions:

1. How does the XMax V2 compare to the Imag+ in terms of how quickly it heats up? Are they pretty comparable, or is one a clear winner?

2. What's the worry with the airpath with exposed electronics? I bought a Titan II and it turned out to be a piece of garbage. It pumped out plastic fumes so badly that they were visible. I'm not an electronics expert at all, but what substances in the electronics assembly could be potentially dangerous if heated and inhaled? Is it the possible lead content in the solder? The copper? Adhesives/glues? I agree that isolating the heating chamber and airflow from the electronics is probably better safe than sorry, but what's the specific worry?

3. For those who have gotten some information from Topgreen about the next version (improved V2? V3?), are you at liberty to say what the new or improved features of it will be, aside from the longer battery life and possibility of shipping with a spare? Any indication of how soon we can expect it to be released?

I hope I'll hear back from Topgreen themselves soon, but like others, I'm reluctant to make this purchase until I have a bit more information. Thanks, everyone!

The current version should be shipping with a spare already, but the exposed airpath is a concern as the electronics could get gunked up with vapor condensation, or fail while your using it, and just renders taste impure. I'm unsure of the exact materials used

They just completed the mold for the new version with the isolated airpath, and it's battery life is drastically improved as well. No idea when it will be released, probably 3-6 weeks or so?

Awesome; thanks for the speedy reply! If the new model will be released that soon, I might as well wait for it, especially if one of the planned improvements is the isolated airpath. Also glad to hear that, at least for you, the exposed electronics aren't primarily a health concern. For those who are getting units shipped to you (particularly in the US), are you ordering them individually from Topgreen? I've seen some alibaba sellers selling them, as well as a few US-based sellers who seem to have only a handful of them available; no idea whether their prices are comparable to what I'd be quoted from Topgreen directly, plus I'm a bit too wary of fakes to be comfortable buying from someone the company itself doesn't vouch for. Are folks here getting individual units shipped from Topgreen, or are you having to go in with others to buy a minimum quantity? I'm new to the Chinese vape market; I got my Titan II from a US-based eBay seller, and it ended up being unusable because of the plastic fumes, so now I want to at least make sure that what I'm getting is the real deal from the real, original designer/manufacturer, if possible.

I'm still using mine daily, taste and clouds production is still enough nice!

I can't charge it directly, I need to charge the battery with an external charger and I can get 7-8 sessions(2 or 3 mn timer I don't remenber), so I can run 2 bowls before the battery die.

Honnestly I think this vape is very close, in term of clouds and taste, of the Inhalaters, the only issue is to find a better battery than provided.

The open airpath doesn't worry you? How is taste for you?

Taste crapped out on mine.. it got a lot of use though.. Do you think there is anyway to open it and clean resin from heater and parts ?
I did that with my gf flowermate (although runned trough about 100-150 g before opening it hadnt much to be cleaned exept for the bottom part of the cup.It was piece of cake. But this one gets me puzzled ? Can someone suggest if it is opened from upside or from where battery connects :D

It is probably similarly assembled than most Chinese vapes, it is not meant to be opened (not easy anyway :) )
Instead of threaded mechanical binding they forced together to form "cohesive binding". This means you have to stabilize the "middle" part with a vise (wise with the button!!), carefully protecting its surface with thick rubber or silicone sheet wrap and hard plastic, then hold "gentle-tight" the (again surface protected!!) top bit with pliers and pull off very slowly by pulling with slight circling motion.. Also very important NOT to pull the whole top assembly - keep the heating chamber pushing backwards with a rod or stick fitting inside - otherwise you may rip off wiring from the inner parts. I would say it is at least challenging for skilled person with the right tools, and impossible to do so without causing damage for any unskilled/unexperienced person. Remember I do not have an X-MAX - so it is only a guess!!

I went ahead and put in an Amazon order for a Nitecore i2 charger and a pair of Samsung 25R batteries. That way, even if the batteries that ship with the V2 itself aren't that great or aren't charged on arrival, I'll still have a fully charged Samsung ready to go for burnoffs (if necessary) and the first few test sessions with a pcked chamber, and another charged 25R waiting as a spare. I also ordered some Tisano chocolate tea (i.e., crushed cocoa shells--no cocoa solids, so no worries about anything melting and gunking up the V2's chamber) and have some peppermint tea on hand as well. I figure that if I mix my herb in with an aromatic mint chocolate tea blend, I'll be able to go pretty much anywhere with this V2 without arousing any suspicion whatsoever that it's anything other than the ecig that it so nicely resembles.

Topgreen has my PayPal payment now, and we're finalizing the process of verifying my shipping information now. I sent them the info late Friday, after the weekend had already started for them because of the half-day time difference, so I'm still waiting to hear back from them. It'll be Monday morning there in a few hours, though, so maybe I'll get confirmation from them that they've received my shipping info before I go to bed tonight. Hopefully my V2 will be shipped in the next day or two so I can try it out and post some initial impressions. Looking forward to it!

i still have mine but wont use it. the open airpath way DOES scare me. also the batter does not work correctly AT ALL. even after i fully charge it it will still act up when trying to turn it on. i often have to open it, pull out the battery and put it back together for it to work right. i have used it less than 6 times since i got and it sits on my desk being a paper weight. still waiting on the replacement upgraded model the rep said i would get

Great review

Agreed. Based on the reviewer's use of future tense regarding availability, it looks like Topgreen is getting some sellers lined up to make this more widely available. Those of us who already have ours are just ahead of the curve, I suppose!

If the XMax V2 hits shelves widely at $75-80, it'll immediately become the best vape in that price range, IMO. My only disagreement with the reviewer in the video is that I don't think it's that hard to load. Scoop it in, pack it down, brush any that accumulates on the rim down into the chamber; I haven't found it to be difficult or tedious. I agree with Abysmal Vapor's suggestion upthread re: putting a screen over the top, too.

I look forward to the XMax V2 becoming more widely available; Topgreen has designed a great product that definitely deserves more sales and more recognition than just the handful of us here who either found this thread or stubmled upon Topgreen's Web site. My unit's been totally free of any of the defects others here have mentioned in those made in earlier production runs; now that they've got the bugs worked out, I hope a massive rollout is right around the corner.

Is yours with the isolated airpath and improved battery? I haven't heard anything from them about those being finished yet

Nope; their sales manager told me via e-mail that the isolated airpath hasn't been tested yet past making a couple of prototypes (that's as of a couple of weeks ago), and that it would likely be a couple of months before that version is ready to roll out. If and when it does, I might look into it; until then, honestly, the electronics-exposed airpath doesn't worry me much. The taste was completely neutral for me right out of the box (big difference between this and the Titan II in that regard). Nothing that I've read indicates that there are any health concerns with materials like lead (possibly a component of the solder) at temperatures of 180-220C (lead apparently doesn't start to give off vapors until around 450C). For now, it's looking like they're ramping up to give the design they've currently got a wide rollout. As a competitor to the Flowermate v5.0s (which also has exposed electronics, as far as I'm aware, as do several other popular portable vapes), it's at least no less safe than what's on the market now (and I'm not convinced that what's out there now—aside from super-cheap, fumey trash like the Titan models and their rebrands—is all that unsafe to begin with, though I'm happy to look at credible information to the contrary).

It's shipping with two batteries; mine were both 1500mAh Mottcells. Honestly, though, I haven't used them. I had a pair of Samsung 25R's arrive from Amazon the day before my XMax arrived, and those are the only batteries I've used in it. The Mottcell 1500s that shipped with it went on my Nitecore i2, and they haven't moved from my drawer. I can report, though, that the Samsungs have great life, and with a total of four batteries available to me at all times, I can't imagine a situation in which battery life would be an issue for me. At the end of the day, the replaceability of the standard 18650 batteries is one of the XMax V2's biggest selling points as far as I'm concerned, even if the batteries that ship with it are just OK.

If you remove the acrylic stem from one end of an MFLB whip, the end can be slipped over the MP. You could possibly rig up a setup to attach it to some sort of water filter that way. Any surgical tubing would work; you could perhaps get a length of it for cheaper on Amazon if you find a two- or three-foot length of tubing that's not Magic Flight branded.

It fits right in, narrow at the tip but rounded silicone after it so it fits my 18mm perfectly when pushed into it.

@TheOwlOfMinerva yeah I suggested he start including the two batteries bc of the short life, also got some 25Rs per his request but never used them bc I wasn't thrilled with the taste, and exposed airpath, of the unit. Better battery life is great but I agree with replaceable batteries its not such an issue anyway. I still think this is the best designed cheap pen style vape available with its features and style, just wish the airpath was more sealed for better flavor (and peace of mind healthwise more than specific concerns)

I still use mine several times per week, I can get 9 cycles per battery (=3 bowls), I like to use in the bed before to sleep cause the very short autoshutoff (so if I asleep I don't waste too much), taste is not the better but the high t° are nice for a flowers/reclaim bowl before to sleep!

I get some bugs but not a lot, and yes I would like a better battery and the isolated airpath too, but remenber it's a cheap vape!

hmmm... interesting, i was told different. i cant go into what i was told because i have not asked if i can but i was definitely told something different. i am glad you can and do use yours as is but between the airpath exposed to the electronics and how i dont feel that is safe and the fact my battery has issues from the start (only used the device a total of ten times) it makes the device practically unusable. i hope the new one is better
