Started vaping due to palate wrecking concentrates?

As the title asks I'm wondering how many people are in the same boat as me. I had been a flower smoker for over a decade.

Less than a year ago I was only dabbing concentrates exclusively. I was unhappily surprised by how bad my usual medical grade flowers tasted to me when combusting .

After switching to vaping I now taste all the delicious flavors that I would normally have tasted years ago by simply combusting in one of my tubes.

I guess my main purpose of this thread is to see if any other members ended their combustion run in a similar fashion.

Also i was wondering if any vapers ever stopped cannabis consumption altogether, like a T break , and then try smoking again to see if any of the terpenes shine through the gross combustion taste ?

Or is one of my most beloved ways to consume now lost to me forever? I know this thread is fuck combustion... But it was almost not by choice for me.

Actually, I don't consume concentrates. I was a combuster for 10 years. Being a gadget geek, I was blown away with my friend's Pax vape, so I went and bought myself the Davinci Ascent. And of course, being a new toy, I used it exclusively for a week or so without even looking at my combustion piece.

After a week of vaporizing exclusively with my Davinci Ascent (which I now consider one of the best flavor kings in my current collection), I tried to combust with my wife who smokes. :uhoh::puke:

From that point on, I knew I had fucked combustion. I couldn't handle the taste or smell of smoke like I once could - and I don't miss it at all!

Sure I do combust 3x or 4x a year when hanging out with friends. But I usually bring my own portable vape to the party these days!

If I ever have a desire to get that 'combusting' sensation, I reach for my Lotus vape and my favorite j-hook :D

Combusting genuinely just makes me feel terrible at this point. I'm pretty in tune with my body and the various messages it sends me. Combusting always leaves my sinuses going wild and my throat too scratchy to sometimes even speak properly. I've been carrying my e-Nano around to try and mitigate that, but even that is a huge pain. I think it's time I invest in a Lotus or some similar piece for the sake of traveling. I've also managed to break every glass adapter I had for the nano.

This weekend I realized that I simply have a better time if I avoid combusting all together. Even an occasional hit can send my throat into a tizzy. It's unfortunate, but I feel better so I barely miss combusting at all.

2 years ago I quit combusting cannabis completely and strictly started vaporizing due to health reasons. It took me a couple of weeks to feel I was getting the most out of my vaporizing experience. I never felt the desire to ever go back to that feeling of combusting joints and smoking a dirty little pipe.

Vaporizing is so much cleaner and you can experience the true flavor of the cannabis.

I feel I waisted many years combusting when I could have been vaporizing. I thank the FC Community for steering me in the right direction.

I never tried wax or shatter until I received my certification for medical cannabis and I could shop for wax at a dispensary. I thank FC for giving me the courage to get my cert. for mmj this last year.

This is a community of friends helping friends. There is nowhere else that you can get the answers and the support, whether you medicate for recreational reasons or medical.

Something happened recently that convinced me how utterly fucked combustion is for me now.

It was a dream, where I was taking a huge fiery bong hit. When I woke up, there was this nagging guilty feeling that stuck with me for days. Even smoking in a dream has become icky.

Man, I used to love my joints! I would take 6-7 with me everywhere. Anywhere. It was a relic of my cig smoking habit. I just loved to smoke. I started vaping concentrates because there was less smell. Mrs. DieHard gets migraines and can't stand the smell of combusting cannibis. The joints were fewer and further between. Now, I cannot stand the flavor of a joint any more. Oddly enough, sometimes the smell of one being lit smells good. But NEVER I NEVER thought I would give up my joints! I didn't want to! That was my flavor gauge.:\ Now I have to depend on my Solo for the flavor test.

I purchased my Volcano long before I had any concerns about smoking and used it for many years as a compliment to my smoking habit. I picked up my MFLB specifically to enjoy the flavors of herb as I'd noticed the volcano was quite tasty compared to smoking. Concentrates were game changing for me and I got a nail adapter and converted a water pipe as soon as I was introduced to them. I remember waiting for my local smoke shop to carry a quality vaporizer- they got the Omicron in and I purchased their first unit. I grew to love the EO carts and how conservative they were. I thought the flavor was good.

About a year and a half ago I started to get more interested in how I was using cannabis and began getting more interested in higher quality vapes. Acquired the Persei, Hercules, Nibbler XL, a few months later a Bender and Core. That was some truly good flavor, like the MFLB but 10x more vapor mouthfeel and a truly luxurious feeling using all glass.

At some point in here I quit cigarettes. I smoked herb long before I picked up cancer sticks, and quit 'em about a year ago. Everything tastes a little better, but oil tasted a LOT better. I by no means have completely "fucked combustion"; if I'm with friends I don't turn down a green hit off anything, and I used to love rolling joints... but I don't smoke of my own accord anymore thanks to the Cloud EVO. She came after a few months where I'd given up on flower because the concentrates I had access to had such flavor purity compared to my methods of ingesting herb; dabbing and the Hercules+Nibbler were all I cared to do...

I decided to give the Evo a shot just a few months ago- if it was truly as flavorful as I read about and as easy to use, perhaps it could bring flower back in to my life... and it's everything I hoped for (and more!) Lots of flavor as I'd hoped... I didn't expect the creaminess and "fullness" of the vapor. Maybe more smoke like than other herb vapes I've used (but I'm really not a flower vape expert) or is that the moisture conditioning?

The more vaporizers I try and or acquire, and notice differences between their outputs, the more I want to try or own... up until a few months ago, I'd only set my sights on a single "next one" at a time. Now I have more things I "need" than eyeballs to look at things... e-nano, e-nail, porta-herb. Thanks to FC, I learned the term Vaporizer Acquisition Syndrome. Is this the support group?

Dude, you gotta put the E-nail at the top of that want list! For me it was life changing.:freak:

The VapeXhale does OK for solo use but is useless in a group setting. I have tried several e-nails and really want one. I'm seeing what happens with Flexo before going for a coil nail. Although I think I would be happy with a Quave Club Banger wrapped in a D nail heater.

But thats putting the cart before the horse. I would need to upgrade my glass game to use a QCB....

All in due time. I'm not a rich guy I acquire things over time....
