I can't begin to tell ya how many times I've heard that exact same story. :\

There should be like a 10 Commandments for those of us who partake, with the first one being:

Thou shalt not loan out any vaporizer or smoking device to anyone without me being present at all times.

Amen, brother

Yeah, it was a mistake. But I kinda thought it was a good idea at the time since I don't like to store smoking related stuff in my room while I am away(I live with others in the same house and they are pretty anti-pot).

Anyway, I'm just going to risk it and order the piece I asked about:http://www.dhgate.com/product/inlin...er-pipe-glass/216568809.html#cart_view-2-null

Might as well spend a couple bucks more and get the ceramic nail option even though I am at 80% bud 20% dabs right now. That might change in the future.

Look just like this one from thick ass glass: http://www.thickassglass.com/collections/tree-percs/products/tag-10-5-inline-to-8-arm-tree-perc-5mm

Also going to get an inline ash catcher: http://www.dhgate.com/product/18-8m...er-percolator/210524578.html#s1-14-7|78747405

It looks fragile as hell, but it looks sweet and will prevent the main piece from getting dirty.

This time I will be keeping everything within my reach.

Anyone have any experience with any of the inline perc bongs? How does the inline perc compare to the matrix percs?

I have really not been impressed with tree-percs on these china pieces. Every single tree-perc I've seen on DHgate has an open end, meaning they are very chuggy, and rarely fire through the side slits.

Matrix percs really depend on where you buy them from. Some vendors have perfect matrix's with even cuts all around. While other matrix percs are complete shit because the cuts are uneven (different shapes/sizes for each hole in the perc).

I have had several matrix pieces and I notice that the slits lower in the perc rarely fire. Except on a HARD clear with no restriction. In other words, never, when I'm using them. I am almost beginning to feel that matrix=all for show.(Heresy??, maybe) regardless, I still like them.

I remember reading somewhere that Mobius stated the bottom slits are the reason there is very little drag with the Matrix perc. They don't fire with bubbles, but they let water flow through to not restrict the top slits from firing. Keeps the top fed with low resistant water.

@lwien I like what @Tweak said comparing the two bubblers. I just used my D020 last night with the Air and really enjoyed it. It required no priming (that's what I call when I hit the can until vapor starts forming and then exhale before starting again with a full can of vapor). I prime whenever I use the 187. Both good choices and I'm glad I have both as they will both get used!

The GB-194 from Yingmin5 has closed ends and its actually one of my favorite DHgate pieces.

Yeah, I head about the tree percs being open from the ends on the china pieces. I haven't been able to find any pieces with a different type of perc after an inline perc. Since they still fire through the bottom, at least there is some cooling though.

The last piece I had(bought from Steven) had pretty well made matrix percs, but only the top part of the percs actually fired. The bottoms only fired with a super strong pull.

I was thinking' about the D020-D though. From the picks I've seen, it seems to be smaller than the 187 which I like but I also like the looks of that sidecar in that it would seem that it would allow me to better see what's going on inside the bubbler, no?

Damn, this is like buying my first tape.

I'm pretty sure the D020 is the same size as the D020D, just a different perc. In fact, the perc would be more like the one in the fc-187. Don't overthink it. Just get one. I recommend the one with the least diffusion so you keep the taste intact.

That's the best explanation I have seen on matrix percs.

The -D is bigger. Both wider and taller, at least mine was.

I wish more bubblers where made with the rounded top like the D-020

Maybe this will help with deciding size.

From left to right: D-020, D-020-W, D-020-D, and then the GB-187

For scale:

The nano is 3 7/8" tall X 1 7/8" wide.

Damn, this is like buying my first tape.

Now imagine just 3 years ago and these all cost $120-200. We are spoiled now. :ko:

Before I knew of the D020(D), FC/GB 187 etc... I'd already ordered a black leaf double honeycomb: http://www.grasscity.com/us_en/black-leaf-glass-bong-with-double-honeycomb-disc-perc-32cm.html

Was that a useless purchase due to the larger size (still pretty small for a bong though) or would it still work ok with the Solo? I'm assuming the D020-D bubbler from sunshinestore would be better? (bought that yesterday too)

Smaller pieces like the d020 have less volume and are easier to clear, solo has higher resistance. That being said, it might still be a good pairing. If you have the $ order one of the bubbles it will be good contrast to this large piece. But no harm in waiting and trying it first.

Can anyone recommend me a website that sells decent glass bubblers that is American? I saw one a month or two back in here, but in my minimal digging haven't been able to recover it.

I've ordered from Grasscity and see all the love for DHG, but I'm trying to not buy out of country. Would just go to my local headshop/s but they all have somewhat terrible selection and are ridiculously overpriced.

Two new headshops actually just opened near me....and neither is quality enough for my business :/ kind of sucks.

Good question. When I use my SC tube, I have to stand up to hit it but I'd prefer if I didn't have to.

The gb-186 is a great piece, with a lot of volume in the can, so you get a big hit when you clear it.

The style of the neck also allows you to see into the can as the vapor is filling it, so you know how full it is.
It is a foot tall (the mouthpiece from the table, so it is usually a great piece for using while sitting.

The GB-186 is the double matrix mobius knockoff can right?
Edit, that's the GB 186-1. No idea what a GB-186 is.

Pretty sure They are the same piece, but the gb-186-1 was the listing for single pieces, and gb-186 was the listing for larger bulk orders.

I'm not sure of a good online store for American pieces, but do know that a lot of headshops resell stuff they get from china, including knockoffs/counterfeits. So don't just think because it's on US soil, that it was made by an American company. Make sure you know for sure before purchasing.

I am reasonably sure that is is all American made. I'm not sure if he makes each piece personally or if he has other workers.
Edit: Blown in California. Most listings even have water tests.
