Just got my esv back from Joe and I'm loading it up with some sour d.....the taste....missed it so much. I don't know what Joe did with the software, but this vape is functioning a lot better. I did not have to stir nearly as much and I
jkBzHHS.jpg
experienced no combustion. I started at 305 and took it up to 380 with many stops along the way. My abv is very uniform.

Oh wow coil super close to the lens. I'm definitely sending mine in for a tune up, I always felt that was the best way to replace the coil...

Are these the same coils that are usually used immersed, to heat e-cig liquids?

I just checked the website and the stir lid attachment is finally available. The picture is much different then what I've seen on here, there's no holes. Does anyone have this?

I've been very patiently waiting for this because I know for sure that my lens gets dirty when I stir and not while loading. I've loaded it with the driest, finest material possible then took it apart to see if any fell through and the wasn't anything.

Not having to turn the unit upside down to stir is key.

Even with the stir lid, I find it stirs better upside down, with stirring above material, than below it. Bc herb can clog more if you stir on bottom of herb (especially without a screen)

Where is it on the site though? I dont see any accessories in the shop at all...

I believe what your saying is true but I'd rather clean my lid screen more often then my lens. My main concern is being able to stir it with the unit right side up, obviously I'd rather it stir from the top somehow but I don't think it's possible.

Ah that is the same beta stir lid me and vape Dr have, just silver instead to gold.

Doesn't have any changes that I can see

Does it work well enough that you'd recommend it?

Since everyone's individual Elevape experience can vary, its hard to say if you'll enjoy it or not. I definitely think its worth trying out, and expirimenting with, bc when I get consistent results its really awesome and makes it so much easier and stealthier.

I just have to put in more time to figure it out full time, I still think it would benefit from the tweaks I mentioned here already, but some people are able to make tweaks themselves, improving it that way. If I had the tools I would try to whip something up for myself, but im not sure I am qualified...

I think this is a bit wider than the brass ones we have. I'm hoping this covers the whole screen lid. I found the beta stirring lid mixed up the middle of the load pretty well and left the outside edge pretty untouched. I encouraged Joe to widen it out and possibly add a third post in a random pattern.

He replied by telling me that the actual stir lid was improved to account for that.
I hope to get one of these soon and I'll let you all know what I think.

Ah I didn't know! I also suggested it be wider so its easier to use without a screen, or made to be one row and the rest open for a screen. Also suggested adding another prong and making them smaller, but flat and angled like this / \ / to stir the load more like a grinder. Doesn't look like any of those changes were made at least. Would love to hear how its different and if its worth picking up for me

To be clear, it's really only my theory that its different based on my discussion with Joe. I agree with you that it looks the same but I'm hoping it's at least wider.

I continue to be having excellent results since receiving my ESV back this latest time.

Previously, I had to keep all three temp levels very low due to fear of combustion. Now, every 2 days, I keep bumping level 2 and 3 up one notch to see how it goes. I'm currently at 385 for level 3, which is probably just one level away from the highest I'd like, but we'll see.

I'm back to getting a very particular pleasure using this vape. Much like my FF, or "glass core" HI, it seems to be offering me a unique experience / feeling. Beyond just a vape signature, I mean. It can just be fun to use for its own sake, you know? These are the only three vapes I feel that way about, and I've owned quite a few.

Still liking the new found even color of by ESV ABV.

My bottom screens keep getting a little more build up each day. I use a fine metal pick and an MFLB brush to get it as clean as I can without removing the screens, and it works pretty well. But little pieces are trapped in there. Not much at this point.

I clean the ESV every other night, and the sensor itself every night. I find that if I don't, the airpath seems more ... congested? I like the free-flow of a clean ESV. I'd say a "good cleaning" takes about 10 minutes, and an everyday cleaning takes about 5. I like to sanitize the outside and the mouthpiece while I'm at it. It can be pretty fun to take this unit apart. Although I notice bits of herb almost everywhere in there when I do...

I've noticed that my charge light is turning green before the app says it's fully charged. I wonder which one I should believe...

Been having a lot of fun with this unit the past couple weeks. Think I might be willing to fork over some more cash and buy the stirring lid...

I wish the accessories page offered the two types of bottom screens on their own.

Yeah going off of your super close sensor I decided to move mine even more and had luck. Very angled close to the lens. Low temps are super heady low, no visible vapor. Would be super stealth out and about (haven't tried with stir lid yet though). I think I can raise my temps now too, since I was at 1 3 and 5...

I do still plan to just send mine in (bc I still can't for the life of me get that retainer ring to budge for one thing...) but I want to keep experimenting for a little more. Overall the Elevape is a great value for the support, quality, modularity, and versatility (whereas the Pax and many other vapes are not in my opinion)

Hello everyone long time lurker and first time poster. I took the plunge and contacted joe and ordered the elevape and after reading this thread and taking all info into consideration I added another screen to the chamber lid and started on factory setting number 1. Got visible vapor but not much taste and did again and then I stirred and the third hit was combustion..burnt material on the edge closest to draw tube? I tried off and on for a bit but would get unpredictable combustion...any ideas?

The first thing I would try is decreasing the temp level through the app. Factory settings seem random, and won't necessarily be right for you.

Can you post pics of your coil placement? That might be the issue.

Screens may be too close to the coil as well. And make sure your bottom screens are a fine and a coarse. That seems to work better, IMO. You may have to change them to get rid of the combustion flavor.

Remember that the ESV likes a STEADY draw - IME, anyway. If your inhalation is shaky (fast and slow), then the slow part can sometimes give the air time enough to get too hot and set your herbs ablaze. Again, IME, anyway.

What kind of grind are you using?

The more info you can give, the more likely FC will be able to tell you if it's something you can "fix," or if it needs to be sent back in for another look.

Took me a while to figure out the "right" way to hit the ESV. I ended up settling on puckering my lips (don't know why this helps) and taking big steady inhales - stronger and faster than you might expect. The ESV has a surprising amount of power for such a tiny little vape, especially when you consider it's pretty much all convection.

Hope you don't have to send it back - that can really give you the Portable Vape Blues.

I am using a super fine grind as In a grind it in a 4 piece then finish in my mflb finishing grinder. I have not changed the screens since it came from factory. You said to use a fine and a course? Are these in the kit or would I need to purchase them? JOE was super kind and threw in extra coils and a pack of screens..after I smoke the chamber lid screen will have black material stuck to it? I will take a pic of coil position as it is straight from the factory. And I lowered temps down.so you say I should hit it harder and not slower?

This is also my first convection vape. I have a pax and a atmos transporter which was given to me and I hear is a rebradended flower mate? I also just order a lotus as I see to have VAS..Lol

If you're combusting, then hitting it harder might help. If you're taking aggressive rips on really low temp levels and still combusting, then your unit might have a problem.

I don't think you need to grind it that fine - that's usually more or an advantage with conduction, as far as I know. In this case, I tend to like a Santa Cruz Shredder "grind" (shred), but my Space Case works fine as well. Maybe try a less fine grind and see if that changes anything. May as well.

The two screens I mentioned came installed on mine the last time I got it back from Ipuff. They should be included, at least in your kit.

Some people are surprised how hard you can hit the ESV and still get good vapor out of it. I certainly wouldn't call it a "sipper." Keep trying another couple days and then contact Joe if you still can't get it working right.

Yeah you should bro grind fine like that, corset grind is better for convection, and dont pull slow at all, quick deep inhales, like a qyick but deep puff

I find mind works best with a 2 second primer hit. Inhale 2 seconds stop (can do a quick exhale here if needed) then a steady inhale till blinking red light. Once you get the hang of it you never look back. It's a true portable in the sense where you can get a heavy cloud, or just a small bathroom break hit all in under 10 seconds.

Ok so I need a tool to take out the screens above the coil right? I have extra screens with the hole in the center but that is for the chamber lid. If it comes with a course and a fine above the coil then I didnt get any extra. Thanks for your help and I will keep trying.I guess I need the tool to check the screens above the coil.

After 5 days of using almost nothing but the esv to medicate, I have finally settled on heat settings and personal user preference. My temps right now are 325, 350 and 400. I no longer surf temps. I start and finish flower at 350. I use 400 for bubble or kief salads and 325 is the thot temp (temp for sharing with girls). I prime for 3 seconds and use a slow medium draw until the taste gets thick then speed my draw up so I don't combust. I get thick massive clouds that make me choke almost everytime. No mouthpiece screen, sensor is cleaned after every bowl, I stir after every draw and I constantly brush my 1 lid screen and clean everything with iso before bed. I really do love this unit and I would recommend it as part of a collection, but its definitely not perfect. Stirring is s pita and not very stealthy, lack of battery indicator is not so fun and my software is a bit buggy, but Instant clouds and efficiency override all the negatives though.
