You can definately hold back a bit if you want to..actualy it's quite easy to do so. But it blooms with the accelerator down and a full tank of gas.

The Daisy is a monster truck. The Vapman is a Mini Cooper. The MFLB is beloved and common, but it's battery powered so it's a totally different animal that you just won't see people comparing with torch based vaporizers.

Well, which do you prefer?

I am a vape noob and occasional/casual toker (dry herb only). Natural materials, semi-portability/semi- discrete are important to me. And I have no frame of reference for Vape cloud/taste/quality understanding.

For me they are very different vapes, except for the fact they use a torch, for addressing two different styles of vaping. Both vapes are exceptional and I recommend owning both.

Yep.

Only difference is that I prefer the Daisy.

Different strokes for different folks and there are no wrong answers, only some are more right than others.

I think if you go through and reread the reviews, you'll be able to see that differences are discussed and for the most part are in agreement.

I had daisy for several days. But I was kinda disappointed with this big bulky 3 pieces of wood and I was in a bit panic that I have to directly draw the butane at first, and also I combusted multiple times which off-putted me a lot. But it was because of I was keep covering the bigger hole on top, and I was flaming too close.
Now I kind of get know this thing and I really love how it delivers the full convection taste (definitely better than my Firefly or Crafty) and how it hold on my hands firmly. Its such a well made steady lumber brick! I love this thing!:tup:
(I get really wet condensed glass mouthpiece after each session. Is this normal?:shrug:)

Wow! Firefly and Crafty both have excellent reputations for flavor In what ways is the flavor from the Daisybetter than The above vapes? I'm assuming the intensity of flavor is one of them? How prominent is the wood taste in from the Daisy? How easy was it to get the foul combustion taste out of it?

Just curious with these questions. Mine should arrive in a couple weeks. Super excited!!!

The condensation is believed to come from water vapor produced as a byproduct of burning butane. Unlike vapes like the Lotus, in which the flame hits a plate, this water vapor makes it through to you. This may be why many comment that the vapor from the Daisy is very smooth for the size of the hits you get.

IT's remarkebly smooth and flavorful...much better than I would've ever expected. Put any assumptions aside regarding butane inhalation, you don't taste butane if it's high quality and fully consumed by the torch. I didn't notice any wood smell. I suppose you could hit it lightly with a torch to heat it a bit and season it..

The condensation has me slightly concerned. A good maintenance schedule would probably be a good idea. I'd be concerned about mold or mildew if the piece isn't aired out and cleaned regularly. Some of the dust that collects in the sub-bowl below the screen is pretty moist and stickiy and could mold.
It cannot, should not be compared to the Vapor Genie. Totally different experiences

I combusted once. Not sure how it happened....maybe I was mildly fucked up. I saved it for the following day. Carfully removed burnt matter and screen. Disassembled entire pioece and cleaned the glass with alcohol. I lightly swabbed the bowl with alocohol until and then followed up with a slightly soaked swab dabed in mineral oil.

Left everything out in the open to air out...probably the longer the better. A quick inspection and then put it back together and use.

Oddly the glass seemed to retain the burnt smell more than the wood.

I have combusted multiple times with this beast. I would not advise for anyone to use a high percentage acohol in the wood... I wish that we did have some instructions on how to clean this monster out....

Thanks... I was kinda hoping that we could boil this monster and get some reclaim from it.... What I have been doing with the stem is once I see the condensate inside I take a dry cotton ball and push it through the stem and it collects all of the honey from the inside very well. Then I VAPE that in my nano.... Awesome!!!!

Ed from Ed's T'n'T says that it's alright to give his wooden Solo stems a light wiping with ISO, just not to soak them. I wonder if that is OK here?

Let me clarify. I used a swab soaked in alcohol to clean the inner bowl and airway.

I'm not too worried about damage...it's not like I saturated the inside. And it was fully dried out before it's next use. My guess is that eventually the airway becomes fully seasoned.

The upper chamber if full of crazy, gooey stuff. Can't wait to play with it.

That looks pretty nice. It's not too bulky like a Pelican case, but definately would offer more pro than the Crown Royal sack that I'm using now.

i think the Daisey would fit, but you'd probably have to take off the glass pieces. Not a big deal at all.

The price is nice too.

Been waiting patiently for my Daisy but a few weeks had passed so I emailed Tommy for an update. He said he was hospitalized since this past weekend with Pancreatitis, but should be released today and will ship my Daisy as soon as he gets out. I told him I can sit tight until he feels up to it as I have other vapes to tide me over.

I just wanted to mention this in case anyone else was wondering why their Daisy wasn't shipping or why they haven't heard from Tommy in awhile.

i love my vapman for small pinches. vapman paid for herself in two weeks easy. the daisy however, allows me the use of more meds, big huge clouds on the instant. i love both equally. for discreetness only one of these will fit in your pocket.

My Daisy arrived today sooooo first impressions:

:luv: at first sight, this thing is so darn cute!!! MUCH mucho smaller than I had imagined, it's downright petite and fits nicely in the hand. The wood is a nice dark chocolate brown and the edges are nicely sanded to a curve, not the sharp edges you see on the Daisy that Tommy uses in the video. The curves both make it more comfortable to hold as well as providing you a visual/tactile guide when reassembling the blocks, it's impossible to put together incorrectly (Japanese manufacturers have a name for this, it's called Poka Yoke or "mistake proofing"). Quality of everything is top notch, both the wood and the glass, it all feels "premium".

So of course I fired it up. Was a little confused as I couldn't really see much vapor to start with, even when using a mirror. Tried different techniques holding the lighter and angling the Daisy (damn that dangling cap on the stock lighter). Took about 4-5 draws, stirring after the third. I was a little concerned because I got a couple good clouds but mostly a bit wispy. Then of course the medication took effect, and I can confirm this thing provides a good strong hit, not disappointed there at all. I need to refine my technique a little to see if I can get more consistent cloud quality. I think I put too much in the bowl too, so have to meter that.

I see this vape as a really nice change of pace (or when I don't want to wait for warmup) vape from my desktop plug in and maybe as a travel unit for short drive trips away for the weekend and whatnot.

Oh and the best news....Tommy left a note in my shipment letting me know that he is working on "new products" that may be available in the upcoming month. No other details, but I'm really curious what they might be.

Very happy with this purchase, looking forward to really giving it a full go. :tup:

Edit - ok, two more bowls in and I have my technique down now. This vape has serious cloud production if you treat her right. :evil:

Yeah this little VAPE is a monster..... What I have found is that if you tilt her to the side and hold the flame at the edge she will hit hard! Very hard!

I know. I'm getting the vapman, but this will come right after. Hope it does not lead me to buy all butane vapes. But I'm really digging the aesthetics on the Daisy, and if the performance is as good it looks, just a huge bonus. I was hesitant because I thought it was too big and boxy, but mister G comments made me think otherwise.

Now that I have the method down for getting the infamous "whistle" (it's quite loud actually when you activate it properly), my experience is that Daisy is a one or two hitter on a bowl then everything's spent, it's like a "shotgun" vape. The vape signature to me is quite strong, I like it a lot. I recall from reading this thread, the whistle is the magic that indicates the heated air has the right turbulence to extract very quickly. Once you hear it you can easily see the thick vapor go up through the glass neck, it's pretty cool and quite effective. I forget who said the quick shot of vapor was like the sublimator, but this does indeed remind me of my Sub UFO's hits which also works based on high heat and turbulated airflow.

And yes Mixchux, I think you'd find this thing not bulky or ugly at all, Daisy is my favorite type of art...the functional kind!

I was thinking of buying a backup since I love this thing so much. Actually I haven't even come close to busting any of the glass peices, but it will happen, oh yes, it will. Actually the wood peices, short of them burning up in a house fire, should last many lifetimes.

Rumors of newness in the air has me waiting to see what comes out. It's not like I really need a new vape, and I shold leave any available to those less fortunate than I.

Yeah, and if you don't hear a whistle, the screen probably needs to be replaced. The way one can chow down on flowers with the Daisy packs the screen up pretty quick in my experience.

I think compared to most glass pieces and electronic vaporisors, the Daisy won't seem that large. But for those used to other torch based portables (especially the finger tip held Vapman), it may seem pretty big and a bit unweildy at first. I have used pipe type vaporisors exclusively up until I got mine and it took a session or two to dial it in, but it came quickly and intuitively and most importantly was fun. The carb hole was a new twist on vaping to me.

As for the size, it would make a great device for some one with arthritic hands and poor eye site. Everything is large enough to easily grasp and there is little strength required to seperate the magnets or remove the glass parts. Also no super fine motor skills required to operate.

It's beauty isn't skin deep, but also in it's simplicity and effectiveness.
