Boro glass globe replacement update?
Reg globe replacement glass?
Mine is cracked...
I just smashed my 2nd globe :(

Currently using an 18mm slide from a dhgate rig as a globe - it works surprisingly well (it was a tight fit though, the first one I tried didn't fit.)

Can't wait till my custom globes by @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd are ready :D

This study was conducted improperly. Please do not join in this foolishness. Here is an explanation:

http://tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.com/2015/01/confirmed-formaldehyde-study-conducted.html?m=1

The "formaldehyde study" published in New England Journal of Medicine was not even scientific enough for Fox News!!!!

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4007895304001/gutfeld-new-e-cig-study-goes-up-in-smoke/?#sp=show-clips

If you are a smoker thinking about using vaping to quit cigs, please do not be dissuaded by unscientific hype. The cited study makes the fallacious claim that vaping is more harmful to your health than smoking. Think about your experiences with herb and tell me if you think vaping or smoking is healthier.

The momentum is finally on our side. Carpe diem!
If you put the stainless cartridge straight onto the Persei top, with no bottom adapter, does the cart fire? Or does it still blink?

I went home after work Friday and put the SR-74 on an ohm tester. It read, unbelievably, 0.06 ohms. Then not believing my eyes screwed it back on and it read 0.03 ohms! So I was mystified, took it apart, reassembled it, and got it to read 2.14 and it worked fine. Something fishy is going on with it though. If I have it working perfect, put it in my pocket or car, and walk or drive around a bit it's messed up again. I think the screw at the bottom of the stainless is twisting around losing contact with the gold buttons on the bottom plastic piece. Not really sure how to rectify the situation other than backing the screw out more to make the connection tighter, but I don't want to screw anything up. Kind of a pain in the ass and unpractical to carry around a multimeter with me everywhere I go, but it's been fussy since its last cleaning.

@Patrick Hughes I disagree. If glycerin reaches combustion then it does produce formaldehyde. Its not a scare tactic or anything but the truth, with many ecigs currently on the market that can reach 50watts plus when only 4-6 watts maximum is needed, then yes that is scary.

I need to agree here too, the quality is not up to par on the current batch of kiss carts. I am a huge fan of all your products have a Persei and omicron. I've been using he KISS carriages hard for close to 2 years. The current batch of Kiss carts with the dark wick, while they taste outstanding, they are not built with a quality that is consistent enough not to feel "ripped off" on the purchase .

I've purchased 8 of them in the past 2 months. 2 of them pulled the ceramic cup and wires out within 48 hours of use. (I have never had this happen) Another 2 burned out and give me a red LED within the 2nd usage.

I know how to use them, what not to do, etc. The fact that they break so soon in their usage cycle makes me know that this is a quality issue. They show their defectiveness early, it's not like I used it for 3 weeks then the cup pulls out. The fact that others are reporting the exact same thing can reasonably rule out user error here and point to some faultly construction.

I certainly understand your position to not be responsible for them as a company after they are used, due to the many number of things that could happen due to user error.

You are generally very good when it comes to customer service here, and I think you are missing a genuine opportunity here to ignore this and call it user error.

Sorry to call you out on this G, but this problem obviously isn't caused by user error, see post below.
Elmoe420 had the same problem with a kiss cart that hadn't even been used before, they unscrewed the top (for the first time) and the cup pulled out with the top, completely ruining the cart.
That is a serious problem that needs to be fixed asap!

If theirs pulled out so easily, without ever loading anything into it mind you, then you can't blame any of them on user error(it's a faulty design if it happens before oil has ever been loaded). It needs to be designed in a way which prevents this from happening in the future.

I'm not trying to start anything here, I love your products/innovation. However, you can't sit there and just say "looks like user error" when there is a report of it happening before it had been used.

if the ecig is combusting glycerin, then this is "user error" for using a Ce4 (or other inadequate hardware) tank above 8-10watts.

Edit: just wanted to add since there is a heap of disinformation out there. Only ejuice that were glycerin (vegtable glycerin aka 'VG') based produced the formaldehyde when heated to combustible temperatures. Propylene glycol (aka PG) did not.

Here's an excerpt from an older study from March 2014 (emphasis mine):

"Acetaldehyde was found in all EC (electronic cigarette) vapors (0.153±0.116 μg/30 puffs), but at levels more than a thousand-fold lower than in tobacco smoke. Formaldehyde and acrolein were only found in vapors generated from glycerin-based solutions (0.116±0.022and0.110±0.190μg/30 puffs) and in tobacco smoke (12 and 32-fold higher levels, respectively). None of the examined VOCs were detected in the vapors, while all were found in tobacco smoke. Conclusions: In contrast to tobacco smoke, the
vapors generated from ECs does not contain VOCs. Exposure to CCs (carbonyl compounds) from ECs is significantly reduced compared to tobacco smoke and may be attributable to the glycerin content in the nicotine refill solution.

Absolutely they do, but wattage isn't the only factor to consider. The e-liquid will form formaldyhyde during "overheating" or "dry-burn" situations, temperatures at which you would not normally be "vaping". Yeah I vape at 45watts daily, but that doesn't mean I'm vaping at whatever it is 600+ degrees to turn the e-liquid into formaldyhyde. You have to take into account the type of coil / build resistance / length of puff into your equations as well.

A lot of the studies you see out where the VV/VW mods are producing high levels of formaldyhyde are because there is not an actual person taking a puff, the researcher cranks the device all the way to max voltage and sees what comes out. I don't know if you've ever tried to hit a protank 2 at 5volts but it tastes like BURNED ASSHAIR. clearly unrealistic vaping conditions.....

From this article you mentioned G, I thought this was pretty funny actually.....

"Based on data from the study, not only is "hidden" formaldehyde a byproduct of vaping, but the amount of formaldehyde consumed by an electronic cigarette user could be five to 15 times higher than for a traditional tobacco cigarette user. In sum, 3 milligrams of e-cig liquid at high voltage during the study generated 14 mg of formaldehyde."

Oh my god!!!! We've been vaping on perpetual motion machines and we had no idea!!!!! 3mg of eliquid is somehow producing 14 mg of formaldehyde.... lol ;)

I had this issue before. The SR would hit good for a hit, set it down for a few seconds, hit it again...nothing!! The resistance values would fluctuate like crazy every time u screw it on the battery. Recheck the screw that holds the gold center post in position. This screw can't be too tight. Also the Teflon white insulator may be worn causing a loose fit. This can make your screw travel deeper than it needs and move around. It can cause a dead short if not careful here. Your reading of .06 ohm is a direct short on the SR. Good thing you checked the resistance value or your persei/8 will collapsed a spring at 7.4v!!!

I take no offense at all. In fact I liked the information you provided in this thread. I am not personally into e juice but I do like reading and hearing the latest news. Good to hear both sides of the fence. People can read this thread and make the final decisions themselves.

Are you getting a good seal? The O rings must seal.

It seems like it I'm getting the perc to function well and the water levels change as I put on or take off the nibbler

lonelyhero,
Any word on the triton, or the iris?
Or the flexo for that matter?

The okeanos is an $80 paperweight to me since I haven't been able to get it to use water without draining into the wick (and I only bought it being led on that the triton was on it's way)

I have wanted the iris for so long, but mainly for the on/off function & I don't think the iris even goes below 1.0 ohms? I really want to have a variable voltage with subohming to run my aspire atlantis. That tank is everything I have every wanted for e-liquid.

Doea anyone know if there is there any other variable voltage mod with an on/off function? Preferably with subohming features that can go past 7 volts to run my w9 attachments?

I kind of want to get a singelei 100w box mod & a 510/601 adapter to run the hercules & the bender; but it's a cryin shame it doesn't have the on/off function, otherwise, I'd probably never buy another battery.
The bender is nearly impossible to run without the on/off function :/

Goddamn W9, being miles ahead of the competition with portability with thc, yet so frustrating with proprietary threads & a hatred of liquid vaping.

Am I missing something about the kiss carts? I love the black ceramic and slow heat up for flavor. I am curious what was great about the old kiss carts. Hopefully all this will be moot once the alpha comes out. Really excited about that.

IMO, what I liked best about the old kiss carts is how fast they heated up because it allowed more of the contents to be vaporized at once, whereas I have experienced a much harder time getting fuller hits on the new black ceramic due to the longer heat up time...(it seems as though the extra few seconds is more likely to push the concentrate off the wick and into the bottom of the dish )

Edit: Keep in mind that what I describe only occurs when I use the kiss carts on the stock batteries of the minicron and minicron lite.
