Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Consider yourself very lucky, I think it's awesome that there are some OG's still alive in the wild, but it's an exception. My big beef with VXL is what they did with not honouring the warranties - I know the storey - but I also know how much they exceeded their goals in the indigogo campaign.

Just based on all the posts i've read here, my own opinion/conclusions only, and i'm sure some members will back me up. It appears that the OG's had the least amount of issues, the Cloud+ the most, and the EVO I won't comment on.

That's what I figured. And it doesn't matter how many members come here to back you up, it's still nothing more than judging without all the facts. We do this all the time on this forum and I, for one, won't be party to it. None of us on this forum knows sales figures, failure rates or how many different failure types a vape has. But I can tell you that every time I've spoken to a manufacturer (at least four different ones) about their failure rates compared to the tone of this forum's thread on their vape, we are always way off. It only takes two to four loud and disgruntled members here to make a vape look like it is doomed...I've seen it happen.

Those of us who take the time to post on this forum are such a small, small slice of what a company experiences in the market. And we're not as important as we think. Three of the most successful vape companies of all time (S&B, Ploom and Arizer) have zero presence here and they don't really care what our little microcosm thinks. We're the freaks, my man. We're the vapor snobs, the eccentrics of mist. No one I know outside of this forum looks at vapes the way I do. Most people I know don't even know what one is, let alone have one. Yet you and I have had several high priced ones in no time.

Ok, so that took a turn. But my main point is that we don't know enough to judge, so let's not. I prefer to keep it positive and give people and companies the benefit of the doubt.

Vape on!

You're right dude, it's just my opinion, and I did state that. Regardless, I would take what a manufacturer tells you with a grain of salt as well. Arizer for instance said that the chipping ceramic solo's were just a bad batch, which if so would probably still be pumping out ceramics to this date.

Anyway, back to the Cloud, and positivity....... this is still one of my all time favs!

Sent my Cloud Evo in for service. I know it arrived Wed AM (one day short of a week ago). Anyone have experience of how long it takes to get it back? Of course, it is Thanksgiving holiday. Been using my Storz-Bickel Plenty. Keep waking up at night coughing and coughing. I miss my Cloud Evo!!!!

mod note: This is not the EVO thread.

FC membership is a tiny % of the market for most vapes and numbers here are often overestimated, as far as getting a good sample is concerned. Even within FC, you hear a lot more from the owners who had a problem. I have one of the earliest Clouds, still working fine.
I would take what a manufacturer tells you with a grain of salt
I would caution you to not put all vape makers in the same basket, anymore than you would any other group of people. A business owner is an individual and shouldn't be judged on the actions of one or more other people who happen to be in the same profession.

My OG Ticker has actually always been more reliable than my EVO... EVO had to go back twice, OG Ticker still doing it even after several falls and yanks!

So its been a while since I've been on, since I have had everything I've needed when it comes to vapes. However, about a month ago, my cloud was running normally (OG ticker) but I look down, and the lights are flashing for the timeout but it hadn't been an hour. I grab it and look down into the bamboo and i can see the element glowing orange. Since then, it hasn't been working right. It'll click abmormally and heat for a few minutes and then give me this flashing sequence: 4 red and 1 green. I can still use it if i heat it up in bursts, but its not functioning correctly. Anybody else run into this problem? And can it be fixed or do I need to upgrade to the EVO?

Ok so I posted earlier I. This thread about my cloud dying. My friend opened it up and took a look. The wire connecting to the heater came un-welded. We don't have a spot welder so was thinking silver solder would work if the heater doesn't get to hot to melt it. Anyone tired this or have an idea of how hot the heater gets?

Don't quote me on this but I think most of the time the ceramic element breaks from the heat during soldering, but I doubt that the element gets hot enough to melt hard silver solder. People have successfully installed a different heater in the unit.

Thanks to @lazylathe there's a thread on Cloud repairs and heater mods:

After watching some of my old videos and seeing some new videos of the EVO, it makes me miss my VXC.

way better airflow and wider temperature range, the only downside is it gets quite hot after a while.

So the EVO is more restricted. :ugh: That's a bummer, I hate added restriction.

The restricted airflow works better with (small volume) hydratubes, and the open airflow works better with (large volume) bubblers, was what someone mentioned a while back, and I agree.

Where do all the old Clouds go when they die, I mean do people just throw them away? I've seen the heater repair thread but if you're the sort of person who can't take apart a piece of ikea furniture without breaking something what then? That's not me of course just asking for a friend.

I believe they can upgrade to an Evo at a reduced rate. Not sure if they are still offering that or not but it may be worth looking into.

Gotta revive this thread guys :science:
Located one OG cloud which I can't get enough of. IMO it overshadows the evo in performance and extraction for me. And that ticking brings backsome memories
Kinda wish i did this back when I bought the evo :hmm:

Hear, hear! I love my EVO and it's my daily go to. But every so often I bust out my beloved ticker to keep her going.

Did that yesterday and it was lovely. What an awesome machine.

I found a cloud on craigslist which says it is the original model. If I go to look at it are there any pre death signs or warning signs to look for if it is one of the bad clouds? I am a little worried since I know it will not have any warranty but I have been intrigued by the cloud for a whole.

Without an AC outlet you won't be able to tell much. You can seal the bottom of the bamboo with your finger and blow through it. If you can blow air through it can be a sign of a cracked bamboo. If you meet where there is AC power have them plug it in and make sure it turns red and heats up to turn green. If it's the OG ticker it should make a ticking sound. If it's the cloud+ model, it will make no sound and you also will have no way of knowing if this is one of the fakexhales that was sold on eBay over a year back. Those are original parts assembled by non OEM folks and could work fine or could die after a week.

Hope this helps!
