Mmj for anxiety/depression

hello FC members,

I have struggled with anxiety and depression for over a decade. I went to many psychiatrists and have been on some anti-depressants and sedatives to calm my nerves. I am looking at ways to vaporize/edibles to decrease the anxiety where I can function and work without having that "cloud of anxiety."

I have posted this on some other threads but found that the high from concentrates makes me more functional and less fearful. If anyone struggles with anxiety (and sick of taking doctor prescribed medicine that is addictive), please let me know the best way to use mmj for anxiety.

I am looking at the magical butter product to make ejuice or edibles. I want to be able to vaporize like it's an ecigarette too. Also looking at different temperatures on my mighty to see if that can help. Appreciate any advice or input.

Yea, I strictly smoke indicas, typically og kush. I might use sativas if I see a really good batch from my dispensary. There seem to be 2 points of view: mmj makes people relaxed and forget about worries (reduce anxiety) and the other point that it makes you paranoid and more anxious.

I am trying to find the right way to go about my day without using prescribed pharmaceutical pills. I want to use more natural remedies that do not cause physical addiction. I vaporize with my omicron lite (not as powerful as my Persei with herc) 30-60 minutes before a clients meeting, where I am functional but relaxed at the same time.

I am wondering if any other members suffer from anxiety and how they use mmj to help. Thanks

I have issues with anxiety as well. I've found both indices and sativas provide significant relief from anxiety/stress/negative thoughts etc.. However some people claim that sativas increase their anxiety levels, but I personally have not found that to be true. As far as pharmaceuticals are concerned, I rarely need klonopin or Xanax as cannabis does the trick for me. I too am concerned about the addictive nature of the anti anxiety drugs. I do, however, use Xanax for T breaks and it works great for that purpose.

You mentioned using cannabis in work situations to take the edge off. I suppose it depends on the particular demands of your job. I've found cannabis helps very much when I'm working on a single project as I've tend to hyper focus and get a lot done! However, when I have a particularly heavy work load with many things to get done cannabis is a negative for me. For me, multitasking becomes very difficult as my mind is moving a mile a minute, I become overwhelmed and my short term memory becomes noticeably deficient. Additionally, I never take or make important business calls within the 1st half hour of medicating. I don't want to risk losing my train of thought caused by short term memory loss. If you choose or need to medicate during working hours, I suggest you play around with dose. It's better to be slightly under medicated than over medicated when you have a lot to get done! This is just my experience, there are some on this forum that can function surprisingly well even with heavy use... Mostly medical patients that have a high tolerance to the psychoactive effects of cannabis.

I don't use concentrates during the day as I've found that it's too easy to overmedicate YMMV..

I have stumbled across a sativa hybrid that works well with my anxiety, it's called Dairy Queen also BlueDream a Hybrid sativa. I mostly go with Indica dominate strains. I really like Grape Ape.

Personally i have a hard time getting dosing down with edibles. I hope someday to be able to find a product that works for me.

I've struggled with anxiety since I was age 10. Growing up with an abusive father I'm sure is what started it. Too be honest I was a sweet and trusting child, always making sure that I didn't do anything wrong. My mother had anxiety too probably because of my dad. My dad has long since passed away.

Stress triggers my anxiety and also change. I try to get busy doing other things to divert my attention so I don't dwell on the negative. Helping others is something that helps me. There's always someone worse off than you are. We do have other sub threads dedicated to anxiety and depression that you can check out.

As a fellow anxiety sufferer, I would suggest to try out omega labs cbd products. Concentrates help a lot indeed for our situations, but it is true that overmedicating is very easy with concentrates during the day. This is where OL products come into the picture.

Check out www.canibdol.com for more info :D

It can be easy to over medicate. Since using 3.7v carts from w9, I can get half dab or less by taking a few draws. I can be completely functional with some anxiety relief. Exercising helps a lot., especially like the runners high. I have always been interested in the CBD side. I tried the full strength cheeba cbd taffy, but only tried it 2 days (because it can get pricey) and didn't have a large enough sample size. I'll Definitely check the cbd website.

Almost there...
I use Indicas to control those nasty beasts!!
If you can find hybrids that are 80% Indica or more i find they help me as well as give me a bit of energy!
Great for all the home reno's we are doing!

Not on any more anti depressants!!!
But i also had to change jobs to get away from those feelings...
So also look into what could be causing you to feel anxious/depressed.

As for temps, i find high temps work best!
At lower temps you get a lot of actives, so i go for 200 C plus!
210 on the Crafty, Green on the MV (RED with WT), MAX on Herbie, Nano at 6.5, Aromed 4.0 on MAX... You get the picture!

I stick to sativa dom. strains for those issues.

I always thought true OGK was a sativa dom. More Tahoe cut, than the SFV cut.
Don't know much about the og kush strain other than I love vaping it. I think green crack was the only sativa I liked, which was weird because it sounds like it is uplifting, not relaxing.

iv had problems with anxiety for years i have to take 45mg of mirtazapine and sometimes valium. Since discovering CBD hemp oil iv not had to take valium. I use the Crafty and the Mighty vaporizer what i do is put a little bit of weed at the bottom of the screen then i put the oil pad on top of the weed and then apply the CBD hemp oil onto the oil pad. At maximum setting which is 210c it takes all the horrible tension away as well as the nausea i get from anxiety. However the hemp oil does taste disgusting lol

I find jack herer is one of the best for reducing anxiety and stress. I can also function great on it.

Dude, I just tried some Jack Herer last week and exactly the same. It was really good at counter acting depression and still very functional.

I have my medical license and as I said have been using cannabis for depression. For me it gives a similar feeling to Wellbutrin (both stimulants) but is fast acting and shorter lived. I find it helps almost in the same way you'd use advil for a headache.

I have very extreme anxiety. For me, sativas are pretty much out no matter what, they all make me very anxious regardless of my tolerance. Indicas, however, keep me off the daily benzo routine :D
