I have a 3 inch WonG made out of Blackwood, that I use for a mouthpiece as well as a WonG. The 2 inch WonG maybe too hot for me to use as a mouthpiece. I have the Granadillo stem for the Solo too.

Do you feel a big heat difference between the 3 inch wong used as mouthpiece and the standard wood stem? I want to order a stem from Ed but I don't know which one yet...
Buy the both would be easier... ;)

Well ok then

Hi to all, I think I am pretty much set at the moment. Been using the solo for about 3-4 weeks now and really enjoying it. I also have an EQ and I am finding the solo a lot more satisfying personally. I just wanted to share my experience with all the other nubs.

Spent the last month reading through thread, read first 300 pages then skipped to 900 up to present. This has answered pretty much any questions I have had and given me loads of good advice as well as lots of fun reading all of the excellent postings so many thanks to all participants on the thread for that. I have spent many a session giggling at the screen.

Confession time: I do still combust (I know I am scum of the Earth) but only ABV as a form of aversion therapy and it is working so hope to finally kick the nicotine habit this month. As an aside there are some fascinating articles about how the flavour/hit of nicotine becomes indelibly linked in the brain with the high especially for us western euro types (often how we were first introduced).

Following my extensive stoned research I am now the proud owner of the following (either here or on way): 2014 solo in silver (hello gorgeous), d020 bubbler, 18mm-14mm reducer, pipes stand, ordering 3" wong from Ed as we speak.

Now I cannot see yet anything else I need right away (late nights sessions will dictate many stoned shopping sessions so the trickle may become a flood anyway) but any and all advice is welcome. I know my normal stem will work with bubbler until wong gets here and since I have no airflow issues at all I have yet to try the pvhes but they are on the list.

So, the main reason for the post was it struck me whilst having lovely and helpful pms from Pipes and Ed and then reading the thread and seeing how you can get a little fractious in the back and forth between the established and the new (not majorly just some you know) I wanted to say a massive thank you to all contributors to this magnificent edifice of a thread. Some people have posted only once but with a question or situation that resonated. Others contributed at stages but have faded as time moved on and the glorious few that have stayed the pace and taught much. Seriously, thanks to all of you I will be vape only and the solo will get me there.

Be very well fellow stoners, Rag

First off, welcome to the fun! Great post. While there are no rules controlling it, IMO just because you actually took the time to educate yourself I don't feel that means you lose the 'right' to ask the same question that's been asked several times in the last few weeks and make someone type it out all over for just you.......it seems all the rage. By all means, feel free to ask redundant questions if you feel like you're not 'fitting in' well enough?

Since you've picked up so much useful information, please have a lash at answering questions as they pop up, if you stumble a friend will be there to back you up.

You're not only most welcome, but thanks for saying 'thanks'. I guess your grandmother was big on manners too? Refreshing.

Oh, yeah, don't ever loan money to Ataxian.......or let him near any glass you value?

You're the same great people that posts results and personal findings in this thread, so thank you too! Stick around

Yeah, what the kid just said. It's worth paying attention to him, IMO, good stuff slips out from time to time........

Is this a great Forum or what? I wonder how many sales we've made for Arizer????? Not to mention PV, PIU, Ed's, and a bunch of other worthies in our attempts to help each other........

Sorry if this has been posted before, just wanted to share my mod:

Started using the Solo with a PVHES but didn't like how I had to use a screen on top of a glass screen. Even then debris was still getting through. Had my bent stem just sitting there never used so I decided to give this a try.

The glass screen looked like it had a crack through it, so it didn't take much for me to remove it.

Basket screen in place

It can be shoved in even more for better flavor.

So I guess I just built a Turbo stem? :)

Enjoying my new locally made GonG. Works like a charm with the "O" ring.
Using lower temperatures (level 5 at this point). Much less coughing.
The Solo with D020 bubbler is perfect for working on the computer, leaves your "mouse hand" free.

For those registered voters in Washington State be sure to look over Initiative Measure I-1372 and sign it. It may be our last chance to save Medical Marijuana in our state since the local politicians seem intent on destroying our ability to obtain low cost herbal medicine.

If it's heating at all, the coil is fine. Somehow I missed that. Not hot enough? Can you change levels and get different 'not hot enough to make good vapor' results?

Too bad the PA is dead (are you sure?). I still am concerned about the battery.....yet it charges normally? It would be nice to eliminate that possibility....

So the only two issues are it won't shut off and it's running too cold/not making enough vapor?

Does anyone know what is the model number of the latest 2015 Solo model? Also I wanted some advice on how to purchase a pvhes shorty turbo? Every time I go on their site to buy one its always & forever out of stock! Also what's the difference between the pvhes stems compare to ed's wooden stems? Does the wood stem make difference in the taste?

Yeah I'm sure the PA has a green light & it keeps going off & on, every time I move the wire about it comes on then goes off. I'm assuming there's a loose connection some where in the PA. My solo is not getting hot enough any more as I don't feel the same warmth holding the unit like I used to. I usually start off vaping at level 4 but upon getting very thin vapor I tried cranking all it way up to level 7 but still wasn't producing any vapor like it used to. But yet it charges normally. Yes the issues are that its not turning off, the beep sound is gone & barely producing any vapor.

The number on the Solo is just a serial number, it does not designate a model.

So too, it seems, with Air (same maker). It's shaping up like there are two models there too, not having to do with 'use while charging' or not like here (they all do) but if it has a crude battery level (3 steps) or not. Serial number 'groups' seem a not reliable key there either. "Later" numbered groups have the old feature, examples of both types are reported in the same 'model' (by group number).

I'm not sure it's intended to make any sense to those on the outside, this (confusion to the enemy) is a common practice in some areas. Serial (and model) numbers are not required, they are there for the convenience of the maker, except in a few cases like autos and firearms.

In Solo there are only really two models. If the one in question is less than a year old or so (like a new one.....) it's the newer model (use while charging). You get to decide if that's good or bad (I favor the old 'true PA' version I think), but that really doesn't matter as if it's new there is no choice/difference.

check out the demos section. be aware they come with possible imperfections but (my friend got a demo) they should be fully functional.

also, from my understanding, there are two versions of the solo, pre 2014 and post 2014. doubt there are any pre 2014 models on the market atm, unless you buy from some unknown ebay seller or craigslist. and even then ;0

So then how could I be assured the Solo I get is going to be the latest model? A retailer could be selling me a older model that's been sitting on the shelf for a while

The demos are only a few dollars difference than the regular ones, I think ill just go with the regulars. Who knows what I will end up receiving from a demo lot, might be a total waste of money & time. What's the difference between pre and post 2014 models? Is there a 2015 model?

It's easy to know if you got the newer version. Does it heat and charge simultaneously? If it does, it's the 2014 or newer version

Buy your Solo through Puffitup they are a sponsor on FC. They have very good customer service. If you have any concerns Randy will answer your questions. Free shipping to and free shipping if you need to use your warranty to send the unit back. They will price match too.

There are probably a few older Solos out there (pre 2014) but not many. You 're pretty safe if you order through FC sponsors. Some folks prefer the pre 2014 Solos.

my best guess would be to contact the seller. he will know. also buy from good source.

Well sellers always lie to sell their products, I don't ever believe what they say. But I ordered mine from Vapeworld, are they a authorized retailer for Arizer?

Well I went to puffitup.com & spoke to someone through a chat named ''puff puff'' Seemed hard to work with, unfriendly & took extremely long to respond so I got tired of it & went to Vapeworld.

Hey fellow solo fans - I have returned from New Orleans where the solo had so much fun and was a true champ.

Do have a troubleshooting question for you all

Have any of you had a solo that just stopped beeping?

She's working fine - but she has stopped beeping. Does this mean anything?

I do have a blizzard coming

Thank you for your email.

You can refer to the Solo Instructions booklet for information on usage and maintenance. The Solo Audio / Beep function can be turned on and off. The Solo Audio / Beep only sounds when the unit is turned on and when the unit turns off. To turn the Audio / Beep function on or off, power on the Solo unit, then press and hold the Up arrow button for approximately three seconds.
