Well I am Back in business.
Mailman just dropped of a brand new crafty along with some bonus gift's they tossed in. Customer service that I felt at first, was a tad below average has really bend over backwards to make things right.

Just didn't want anyone to be put off by my postings on this vaporizer. They made things right and really glad to have it back.

I think its been posted already but in case it hasn't they already made changes to the gaskets mine are now purple light blue and red. Also replacement is close to 6000 in number so there selling well it seems.

It does have more draw restriction with fine screen and I believe they thought to have little to no draw restriction was better which is why they chose the original screen. I prefer less maintenance over the slight difference in the air flow with the fine screen. I use a 4 piece grinder for coarse material. I USE to pack full and dense but that made my sessions too long and made me cough too much. I pretty much fill it all the way loosely and NO packing it down. Remember cloud production has many factors. Material strength, dryness of material, temp, draw length and strength of draw. You can have great technique to get the clouds but if your material is not that great you wont see the massive hits your hoping for. You could also have great material and poor technique and waste a great session.

I will try the fine screen with a full chamber no packing it in. But you are right because I was smoking some small tiny buds that were the end of the zip not as much thc on it and I did notice a decrease in cloud production that's crazy

How many times a day do you charge your Crafty guys ? I use it as my daily driver now meaning I am charging it more frequently. I charge mine at least three times a day, wondering if I am ruining the battery by doing this ? Sorry if this is a stupid question . just need some advice.

I feel like I'm getting slightly less clouds with the finer screen or maybe it's just me...

Very nice! Have you tried using the clear plug though? Its curvature matches the bottom of the loading tool perfectly too. Nice to have options, but at least the plug will always be with you.

For your reclaim just leave the glass dish outside if you can under cover or in a shed and let it evaporate off naturally. Less fire less boom boom bang bang and still hella good reclaim :) scrape that shizzle up with razor blade and put it in one of those non stick container or glass jars.
Cool, definitely gonna try this! Thx for the advice

I have to say this...I've been freinds with Mary Jane for about 17 years, and the crafty is one of the best experiences I've had. She gets me every single time, with some of the strongest effects I've felt, borderline scary, lol. I raise my glass to the crafty !

Hey guys!
Long time reader, first time poster.
Been a vaporizer for around a year now, and have owned and thoroughly utilized MFLB, Pax, Silver Surer, Herbalizer, and the Crafty. I have used many others as well.

Quick question about the Crafty and its phone application:
The temperature is always in Celsius, which isn't a huge deal, but I've been using Fahrenheit for my entire life, so I would like it to be switched.
REALLY WEIRD THING HAPPENED like a week ago. For about 4 days, the app was reading in Fahrenheit. I did NOTHING to it to change it (because there is no option to switch it that I can find). After these four days, however, it switched back to Celsius.
Has anyone here had this happen to them?? If so, let me know! And if there is anyway to permanently change it.
Thanks!

I have changed mine 3 times, it makes the hits stay clean. But I have managed to get some nice scratching from the screen on the sides of my oven/bowl.

Please post any info that may help users with changing out the bottom screen.

Thanks

I would like to know this as well as this seems inevitable since its stainless steel and that easily scracthes if another metal touches it. I don't see a way around this and it sucks because I can see this maybe causing some damage or different taste because of the scratched metal? At least I hope not

On a side note I have been having much better luck with the fine screen in the cooling unit and just doing start to finish at max temp! HUGE CLOUDS even though I only get about 4 clouds it's worth it such a nice effect it's like a bong rip that's how big the cloud is. Without using max temp I do notice a slight reduction of clouds but the fact that I hardly ever get anything leaking into the CU makes it WAYY worth it. I was honestly pissed that s and b designed it with the big screen because it leaked SO MUCH. Maybe one day they'll come out with a revised screen that's the perfect size holes to not leak but I doubt it. Only problem I can see with the finer screen is the screen getting clogged with sticky resin since the holes are so small. What's the best way to prevent this and clean the screen as well? It's amazing after a session how much abv is sitting on the screen in the CU it makes you wonder of the regular screen were on all that ABV would be leaking into the CU

If you dome screen it won't touch sides then push dome when in place to seat it securely? Or this will be what I do when I need to. Hope it helps

I think if you bend the screen to make a dome it won't be big enough when you try to press it into place. When it's perfectly flat you can hit the grooves and it will stay but bending it might make it much harder to secure it in place. Let me know if it works!

It's just the way I had to replace top screen? So thought would do the same for bottom. Not extreme dome just slight flex to stop it scratching

Has anyone tried using the liquid pad as the screen for the CU ? Read it somewhere on reddit was curious if anyone has tried it.

Are you using a liquid pad for your seasons at max temp ? How much material are you using for your sessions at max temp ?

Thanks @smokie!

And I agree with @DMPesso, the chamber screen is wayy to open for a unit like the Crafty. Since I haven't ordered a lot of the finer S&B screens specifically for Crafty, I've been using Silver Surfer screens for the past 3-4 days, since I have a laaaarge amount of them.
It keeps a lot of the this grimey stuff out of the chamber (which makes cleaning faster and easier) and, at least in my experiences so far, it has stopped that vapor leakage you sometimes see.

One potential issue with the SSV screen is that it is slightly too big in diameter, so when you put it in the chamber it bulges out slightly. I still pack the same amount I normally do, and it has been no problem at all.

and @sweettooth I know that feel, it seems like it will never go. But, like many things, time (probably 4-5 days max of vaping) will mend it.

Thanks, its mostly at maximum temps I notice it.

Can we get a tally of the dead (red light) craftys so far?
Think that's 5 or so?
Feels like more...

@h3rbalist no problem. 70hrs , it was used as a main driver which it's not made for. im still happy with the unit and think it's a great design. So much so i plan on getting a volcano to go with it. So have emailed storz and bickel about next step. No I wasn't charging and using unit when it failed. It worked fine then it didn't turn on. Also wasn't having any issues. (It may of been taking slightly longer to hit temp, but not 100%)
