Harvesting super early for extracts?

So for years I've taken it as fact that buds have the highest THC content during the earliest weeks of budding, as a sort of survival mechanism to keep animals from eating younger plants. I could have sworn I read it in a book or magazine a few years ago but I can't seem to find anything regarding it on google.

So my question is: has anyone else ever tried harvesting super early and freezing the flower for extraction? I'm just thinking that if levels really are higher during early bud, even though you'll lose a lot of weight, then the resulting concentrate will be that much nicer because of you're lower bud to THC ration. But at the same time I worry about the taste as the plant won't have matured its terps at that point.
Amy one got some feedback or ideas?

Harvest is best determined (IMHO) by the trichones being 10 to 15 percent amber (receding) meaning 75 % is cloudy (ascending) and 10 - 15% clear (not ripe or ready) Sort of like eating a green banana that is hard and somewhat bitter compared to a spotted brown, soft ripe banana that is sweet
Do you have a link to early THC production in plants? Not calling shens just curious..
