Hey, I've got that exact same bubbler, and my walnut nano was just delivered 2 hours ago (thank god USPS didn't axe Saturday deliveries yet!)

How exactly does this reducer set-up this work? Are you just jamming a nano basket screen into the small end and packing your flowers on that side, and then sliding the big end of the reducer into the bubbler's top female hole?

I would absolutely love to try a setup like this, so I would appreciate feedback from anybody who runs a setup like this so I don't buy the wrong parts!

ok so taken this set up for a test run which lasted from this afternoon through to this evening and it has cained me lol love it. first time ive used my nano with a water pipe and its amazing.

the d020 vs d020-d just quickly I would say I like the d020-d more, bigger can thicker glass and heavier. v simelar but d020-d for me.

reason I needed a reducer for this set up is the nano I bought 2nd hand came a with a 14mm gong and my d020 (now dead) and my new d020-d is 18mm female so I needed a adapter to make the 18mm hole a 14mm hole. bought the adapter from dh gate for about 5pounds delivered, got two for that price, ill put a link but you might need these you might not.

if your just getting your kit together try and plan what water pipe j hook etc you're going to get, could save yourself a little bit on adaptors.

and yes the gong you put a basket screen in the thin end, I put mine in so the material sits on it not in it. unsure what the what way is the right way but thats how I do it.

truely awesome set up
hope this helps you

Thank you both for the input! I just ordered one of the GonG bowls from the Epic site, and I will definitely post a pic of it in action once I get it.

And thanks to Andy, of course: This little walnut log has already kicked my ass twice today :ko:

First the flavor, then the buZzz settles in....
I received my @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd carbed-GonG in the mail the other day and thought I'd show my favorite setup. (please ignore the dirty bong/stem :)

Curly Koa nano, ed's TNT curly koa stem, D-020-D water pipe, Joda carbed-gong...LOVE IT!!!

FOTD3EB.JPG

So since the stem is carbed. Does that mean you can leave the e nano in place? Without the heat ruining the flavor and the vapor quality of the material? How balanced is a setup like that? I get Klutz fever sometimes, just seem to knock everything over...

Modnote: back to back posts merged.

Ok everyone. Ive read so many great things about the e nano. And am tempted to order one tonight. I just need a little push. Is there a coupon code or a promotion that will give me that extra umph!?

So since the stem is carbed. Does that mean you can leave the e nano in place? Without the heat ruining the flavor and the vapor quality of the material?

A carbed GonG doesn't keep the herb cool, but it lets you not have to remove the GonG after your hit, to clear the vapor. It also helps prevent blowback, which is when, on some glass pieces, water fills up the intake joint after you stop inhaling, and the bud, will blow out of your normal gong.

and yes the gong you put a basket screen in the thin end, I put mine in so the material sits on it not in it. unsure what the what way is the right way but thats how I do it.

I'm pretty sure that's the right/best way. It prevents the heater from getting caught on the edge and forcing the basket screen further down, when you are applying the nano to the stem/gong.

Been experimenting with my e-nano the past week. I noticed on higher temps it will char the top of the herb somewhat, but it only does this to about half of the load. After looking into the heater I notice the ceramic element isn't centered in the the steel tube. It's leaning to one side allowing more air to pass on that side. So it looks like that's the reason I'm getting more heat to one side of the bowl. I started spinning my GonG while drawing to compensate. Anyone else have this issue?

This can happen from the nano being slightly pulled to one side of the gong by the the cord, and/or a slightly angled intake joint. If you don't hold it while using it, it will probably lean a bit. Every glass piece will be different as well, and you might find some that case another part to char.

Spinning the GonG can help, but moving the nano closer/further, and angling it with your hand, gives you much more control, overall.

-------

For anyone who wants to have their basket screens looking and performing like if they were new, get a small tupperware (one you can hold in your fist), put an inch of Iso (highest % you can find), half an inch of coarse sea salt (it won't dissolve in the iso), and keep it by your vaping stuff. Whenever the screens get dirty enough that blowing into them doesn't clean them completely, put them in the tupperware, and shake for about 20 seconds. When you take them out, shake off any salt stuck inside the basket, and let them air-dry.

Just ordered my e nano.....with 14mm and 18 mm adapter for water tool, Just in case. Because if I were missing a piece, that would suck.

I already have a bubbler and waiting from the dhgate, the D020d, off from the recommendations from many here. Thanks! Now the waiting game. Its like Christmas all over again.......

As @EverythingsHazy stated - it helps prevent blowback. When the water settles on a bubbler - the blowback can be pretty bad once your ABV is very dry.

Before @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd released the Carb'd GonG stems, I would cringe every-time my friend took a rip - he didn't understand blowback - and would rip my bubbler HARD then stop the hit without removing the GonG! (I had a Claisen setup - and he would actually remove the stopper to clear the hit, then put the stopper back on before releasing the draw!)

With the Carb'd GonG's, it's easier to explain to my combustion friends how to hit my Nano. It seems more natural to them, and I don't have any more ABV blowback issues!

I believe @flotntoke is a recent convert to the Carb'd GonG's - he's been a holdout for over a year now.

I like the Carb'd GonG's because it eliminates my whole claisen setup, which added unnecessary height to any of my bubbler setups.

@Chezgreendream - Congrats, you made a great choice! I know you want to cloud chase, and the Nano certainly DELIVERS!

My Nano is so potent, I'm actually thinking about taking a slight t-break by switching to an underpowered portable vape for a week or two before going back to the Nano!

Andreaerdna

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
I finally get time to use my new enano extensively, dry and in combo with a water bubbler.

I was a portable, mainly "analogic", vape supporter (lotus hammer vapman vaponic and solo) because I like when I can totally customize the experience and I like the organic touch of most of them.

Having the nano turned on, waiting for me to just load a gong (because of the small fragments generated while stirring - as the lotus or hammer do - I prefer a j-hook when hitting it dry) and just inhale without counting or adjusting flame it is quite confortable, each hit is just perfect, tasty and cloudy, slightly less cloudy than solo IMO, but again, as someone already pointed it out, you load much more material in a solo stem and the airflow restriction of the solo helps to concentrate vapor.

My sweet portables devices are now used as they are intended, mainly when out of home

Nano is worthed each dollar it costs and as many of you I'm already considering a second unit for backup (it does seem unbreakable but you never know) and for the pleasure of a different wood grain.

Here I am, again, saying thanks to you all wonderful peaple, for the help in chosing this diamond, and to Andy for creating it and putting it on market.

An epic sunday to you all!

Ps no noise or heat from my stepdown converter after intensive use ( it is a 150watt)

my e-nano may hava a similar issue, browns more on one side than the other. for best performance here is what i did: cut a small V-shaped notch at the bottom of your silicone heat shield on the gong. i put the gong on the nano for the first minute of the heat soak with the notch at 9 o'clock (assuming you are using the nano with the cord at the 6 o'clock position), then turn it 180 degrees to the 3 o'clock position for another minute. then hit at 20-30 seconds at the 3 o'clock position and turn halfway through the hit back to the 9 o'clock position. i have the temp at 6.7 and basket screen only a few mm away from the heating element. this technique gives me perfectly even roasted one-hitters. this is using the pnwt and 14mm gong

After further "research" I found that upon placing the nano on my GonG it takes an second, slightly more forceful push to seat it level. Heats more evenly now. Might have to look into a better GonG though.

Edit:I'm still curious about the ceramic cores being centered in others units.

Can anyone tell me the exact dimensions of the e-nano? Height and diameter? Want to see if it would fit in particular case. Is there a popular case that people use to store the e-nano? Or any suggestions on a case? I know most people keep it out.

Mine is 3 7/8" high and 1 7/8" in diameter.

If you're still curious my core is the same, I only checked because you mentioned it. Sometimes I get uneven charring too but not so much when it's seated better in the GonG. I have 3 GonGs but not a lot of room for adjusting in the two that can, so I plan on buying one from someone here when I get my act together.

Picture a small redbull can - that's the size of a Nano. Don't have my calipers nearby, but really, it's smaller than you think.

The Nano comes with a canvas bag which I use to transport my Nano when taking to a friend's house - It's not padded, but I don't personally need it - any nicks in the wood add character!

Blowback can be worse depending on your glass. Stemless rigs (right angle from chamber then straight up) seem to be worse. Dewar joints (GonG at top center) seem to be best. I've never had a problem with it on dewars. Just don't sit GonG adapter with no nano on it down before letting water settle. I usually pull GonG, clear, let water settle, drop GonG back on. YMMV, but can tell you that if you start with good form it becomes second nature very quickly.

Now have a couple carbed GonGs. Nice, but don't know if I'm a convert yet. My nano one has to go back for refit (probably due to having older V1 nano), but should have it back soon. Have one for solo, too. It's OK, but solo on bubbler is such a letdown compared to nano IMO - hard to say. That restricted solo draw really gets me with the bubbler set up. New trick for me (solo on bubb), so interesting. NOt even worth comparison to nano, though.

.... each hit is just perfect, tasty and cloudy, slightly less cloudy than solo IMO, but again, as someone already pointed it out, you load much more material in a solo stem and the airflow restriction of the solo helps to concentrate vapor....

Glad you're enjoying your nano! Always great to see another happy new nano-er. But, I think you'll find with a little practice and maybe some tweaking, the nano will blow clouds the solo only wishes for. I think heat level, draw and screen level/distance (on nano) all come into play with a straight 1 on 1 comparison. Though the nano can be used with much less material (without adding spacers to solo, at least), you can easily get two good clouds from a small load. Both that taste and hit you very nicely. 3x or 4x as much material can cloud up as well on solo, but not as easily IME. After the first few the solo will cloud easier, but pretty sure that's because you've super-dried the load on those first couple hits. So while cloudy, not as tasty and don't think as effective.

Not just being a fanboy here.... Really wish the solo could get closer. Would save me much carrying nano around and would be sweet to get as good of hits without A/C!

Think this is a regular thing. Mine is a little off to one side, also. But, there isn't really much room in there for it to be too far off. Sounds like seating everything level could be most of the problem. Also, higher heat (and leaving your nano on GonG for longer periods) will make this worse. Although mine isn't perfectly centered, have never had a problem scorching one side and not the other. On the rare cases where I've taken heat up too much the roasted spot isn't a perfect circle in the middle, but IMO not really cause for concern. You can certainly use your nano like this, but if you've got a scorched area to check for position you're probably at least a bit too hot to get the most out of your nano.

Yep, I'd say redbull can almost 2/3 as tall.

LOVE that canvas bag. Mine gets a good bit of use and looks it, but still hanging in there. If Andy made these available by themselves, I'd probably pick up another next time I need some accessories.
