Lol sooo JUST as I was getting all comfy w. The kiss cart this happens..
36A2A273-9CC1-4E69-B046-A92125A17336_zpsuptfy3ao.jpg

The bottom insulator came out while taking it apart.. No resistance or anything it just came unscrewed w. It.

@THC SCIENTIFIC i literally got this yesterday. The wires not ripped it just slid out w. It. Is there anything that can be done ? As for a replacement

Some other users reported this same issue a few weeks ago. They had indicated they thought it was due to concentrate causing the cup to stick to the mouthpiece. However I experienced this exact same thing myself last weekend on a brand new Kiss cart that had never been used. I was at a String Cheese show (mind blowing set btw) and went outside on set break. Unscrewed the mouth piece for the first time and the entire cup pulled out. Of course I hadn't brought a spare to the show so was then shit out of luck. No clue why this occurred but as the Kiss cart was unused this wasn't due to any stickiness.

The momentum is finally on our side. Carpe diem!
OK I'm officially stumped. My SR-74 has a resistance of 2.14 ohms but neither top I have will fire it, on batteries nor the core. The tops just blink a few times like there's a short, but they'll fire an EO cartridge just fine. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

I dont know what is the problem, but oftently I have to body warm my v3 top, and my herc sr74x connectors just to be sure, for it to fire the 1st hit. Thats with 18650, and with a press fire then screw the herc slowly in. Im still trying to figure out how to get constant fires with 18350, last time was a no fire at all with loaded 18350. Since missfires seems to vanish throught my session, I thought it needed a little heat boost to prime it. But my core fires in a less finicky manner, differing from your problem.
I was just taking a hit from my sr74x, and all of the sudden I heard this crackling. What was this?
It happened to me when I didnt dry the coil enough. For many hits

I had put a bigger load without having done some dry hits after cleaning my herc sr74x. Next time I clean my herc, I will do some dry hits to finish drying my coil if im in a hurry. I rince with distilled water after after the iso soak, so I didnt vape iso. But there was a crackling sound for dozens of puffs..

I haven't cleaned my herc lately though. But not too long ago. It's been about a g.

Edit: seems like moisture from the oil.

@Nube Scrutator @lonelyhero @Fredster951 , sorry for tagging you if you don't care anymore.

Short version is I *think* I was just drawing way too slow embarrassed to admit. I normally draw pretty slowly and I draw even slower on my okeanos, especially if I start getting water in my mouth. I've incorrectly thought I'd figured it out before though so I'll have to wait and see. I'm hoping my draw is the problem since it's easy to fix and not a real problem. I enjoy working through issues like this though, gives me an excuse to do a lot of testing.

Long version is eventually I used the the cart on the vape, then tried it on the okeanos plate with just the kiss mp on instead of the water part and it worked the same. So the only difference in airflow is with the water part on it draws from 1 hole in the bottom of the cart vs the 2 on the side of the cart. So I tried drawing a lot harder and it seems like it's working way better. I tested it and the voltage seemed fine on the cart in and out of the okeanos bottom plate. Tried to take pics of the threads but the camera on my phone just refused to take anything close and not blurry. Except for some residue on the top/inside of the bottom plate the threads on both sides are spotless. Same for carts I put in there, clean and no issues running them.

Yeah I got the same thing for a few hits last time I boiled everything. No funky taste and went away quickly so didn't seem like a big deal.

Also here is a picture of the Kiss cart where the cup just pulled out:

Yes many people including myself have complained about the low quality ti kiss carts but thcscientific has chosen to ignore all of us.

The ceramic cup is extremely loose on these ti kiss carts. The cup spins way too easily and pulls the ti wire straight out of the coupler. This is impossible to fix without a new ti wire, new coupler, and new non resistance wire. Very annoying.

And for the record..the rebuild instructions are for the nichrome kiss and not the ti kiss. It's not the same thing.

The only difference between rebuilding the two is that you have to crimp the non res wire to the titanium after wrapping the ti around the wick & putting the ends through the holes in the ceramic cup. I'd stick with NiChrome though because crimping those wires is a PITA IMO

Is the kiss alpha anytime close to selling? If not, I want to try divine tribes dual ceramic.

I can't wait for the new alpha carts. The 3.7v kiss gr2 changed my whole perspective on pens

Just got my nibbler xl today and got the first time since havin the herc, I'm having issues. Might be my draw or something but I'm not pulling clouds as I should be. I also leaked all my material down to the second chamber for the first time. Seem to me like cooling the herc down is much more difficult

Chances are you're not getting a good seal on the top O-ring on the mouthpiece. Try swapping that O-ring with the other ones you got and see if you can get a better seal. Same thing happened to me!

I shall try this when I return home from work.
Will report with my findings!
Thanks

What kind of wire do you guys recommend for rebuilding KISS carts? I want to rebuild both 3.7v and 7.4v carts. Ti vs nichrome vs kanthal? What gauge? Where do you guys order this stuff from?

@vjt324 Don't forget to only twist the Nibbler clockwise as you put it on and take it off the Herc. The last thing you want is the mouthpiece to come off inside the Nibbler!

I was able to follow the guide posted by @DieHard fairly easily for rebuilding the Ti Kiss carts. I don't think it hits quite as good as it did new but it definitely works. I used the rebuild kit you can buy direct from w9tech.com to do it. Which part is confusing you exactly?

Also the Kiss which had the cup pull out on me was an old Ni Kiss that came with my Omicron Lite not one of the newer Ti Kiss carts that I bought separately. I'm planning to just rebuild it with Ti and a newer black wick.

In the future never will I just take one cart with me to a show. Lesson is to always have a backup! It was pretty cool seeing the blue glows of so many people hitting vapes on the floor of the Paramount hah.

Last time I cleaned my herc.. 5 days ago IIRC, I was super rushed, didn't want to take the time for my usual lengthy ISO soak and distilled water boil. So i just torched the coil clean. My gold plated spring pin was pretty gummed up with oil. I poked the pin out (with a paper clip through the back) and wiped the tiny pin with iso on a paper towel. I ripped off the cotton, dipped the stick in the iso, cleaned out the inside of the rod. Then I rinsed the metal chambers, rod, gold planted pin parts in iso for about 60 seconds by shaking it in a ziploc bag. Rinsed in water, Dang, lots of build up on the rod... Torched that sucker clean... Too much torching, poor thing ended up glowing red hot, i think the rod might be slightly curved now. Just a lil bit, hope it works. Torched the Ti coil more gently. Put it all together and realized my PTFE inserts are super worn out, the bottom contacts seems to be pushing 'inwards' a bit more than it should. Hmm. First assembly is no good, is it broken? Nope, just needed to adjust the rod placement a hair... 2.3 ohms so I spun it on my Persei and test fired it to get the moisture out.

Then i popped the coil in, poked it down, went over to a friends, and loaded 'er up. We worked through half a gram and it performed like a champ.

Been using it for a few days since, and have felt no need to re-clean it 'more properly' or anything, it's been solid: http://instagram.com/p/yQGnSVIUK5/

So I don't know what happened w. My sr74x.. It's been fine since I got it but now I'm experiencing it refusing to fire almost every session.. Even if I just put it down for 2 minutes.

Voltage is still between 1.9-2.4 & the hammer top shows a solid blue light but no heat up. I end up having to unscrew & re screw the top & middle chamber of the sr74x & then it will work. No adjustments just unscrew the chambers.. Anyone have an idea on my problem ??

EDIT: this didn't start happening until I attached the mt4 ejuice cart. The cart doesn't work when it's tightened (flashing hammer top) and forces me to use it w. The cart slightly loose. Don't know if this would have caused a problem though ?

have you checked to see if your gold center pin is still springy? Mine got gunned up and worked ok for a while after an evercLear soak but slowly started getting stuck down now it's loose and I had to adjust my rod down a bit to get good consistent contact again

I have a replacement center pin waiting at home along with a brand new nibbler xl can't wait to get out of work
