What to do with my ABV?

So, after 9 months I have a bit over 55 grams of ABV.. and a few questions from a n00b.

Is that a lot? Am I living it up like a Rock Star, or a Suit and Tie Guy? 100% of it was vaped through an enano.

I'm a recreational user and prefer higher THC type strains (Sativa dominant). I've been led to understand that most of my ABV will be CBN/CBD dominant, as THC vapes at a lower temperature. Am I predestined to hate whatever I do with this ABV?

My typical usage happens after work/weekends and I prefer the high energy high to compliment playing drums/synths, video games, socializing, tinkering, and movies/reading.

I have a few indica strains to treat occasional insomnia, but that's it. I'm not a fan of the heavy eyes and couch lock unless I can't sleep.

I've tried edibles a few times, it was okay. A little too couch locky for me though. So I'm thinking QWISO.

Or.. whatever else I may be missing. Thanks for any input, I'm completely new to this concept.

@nihil - Believe you'll find your ABV more on the couch-locky side, given you've likely vaped the headies out of it. But that doesn't mean it's a waste. Sooo much good you can do with the leftover vape poo.

Are you rollin' like a whale in Vegas? No. Do you have enough poo to make something good?Absolutely! Just know that it'll be a different ride than a sativa buzz.

Turn it into butter and make edibles.

Infuse it in coconut oil and make a salve or massage oil.

Turn it into swamp water.

Make hard candies or chocolates.

Do a QWET or QWISO run.

The options are numerous. What floats your boat? :brow:

Thanks for the reply @beach bum.

So by different ride that means? Couch lock?

If so, that is cool. I could then use it for the insomnia instead of procuring the one strain I use for this purpose.

I dose for insomnia about 3 times a week, so I'm thinking for this low usage, edibles probably won't keep as long as wax/shatter/whatever the hell it is called. So gel-caps or QWISO seem to be my best options.

n00b question, but is what that is produced from the QWISO method "dabbable" like the stuff produced from regular bud? I'm a long time consumer, but I've yet to do dabs and know very little.

I wouldn't really want to dab anything reclaimed from ABV - the taste would be hideous.

I'm looking at using my wife's new sous-vide to make some magical butter with all my ABV (I've also got about 9 month's worth, but I haven't weight it)

55 grams of abv is a respectable amount- I'd say that prob corresponds to around 3oz of raw flowers.

If you prefer the THC high, I don't think you'll enjoy the sedative effects of abv as much. My preferences for cannabis are similar to yours and I've found I really don't like the abv edible high. It makes me feel more couchlocked and tired- not what I'm going for unless it's close to bedtime.

Thanks for the info. 3oz in 9 months sounds about right for me.. including being generous when company is over.

So it seems like no matter what I do (QWISO, Butter, Veggy Gel Caps), I'm more than likely going to experience couch lock. This isn't ideal, but it is what it is.. I'd hate to throw the stuff away.

A friend of mine offered to make Butter and Edibles for me with it.. I'm thinking I'll go that route and have him keep a good share of it. Then I can eat the edibles on nights I have to get in bed early.

But I like it!
I tried qwet with abv and it tasted like forestfire. Great if you like being reminded of camping.

Budder (or coco) and edibles is the way to go. I don't find them couch locking, but just a nice pleasant feeling. Too much and I fall asleep, but that was a ton of abv in a small amount of budder, with my abv qwet tossed in as well :)

I made ABV oil, and it wasn't "hideous" tasting. It was toasty and black, and definitely not some frozen nug run vacuum purged golden goodness, but it definitely did the job, and was "dabbable"

it left a bit of residue and sizzled a bit, but whatever, its reclaim.

usually making butter with it is the way to go, you have a ton of vaped bud, so make like 2-3 lbs of butter.

Can any of the above experts provide me with some noob instructions for making some butter / oil from ABV?

I love ABV edibles! My most noob friendly instructions (no smelly/time-consuming oil-making process is necessary!) for ABV edibles are as follows:
  1. Weigh out an appropriate amount of ABV for your personal tolerance (I use 0.25g per brownie, while my buddy with a high tolerance uses 1g per brownie).
  2. Finely grind the ABV (I use a coffee grinder) for best texture, optional.
  3. Add the ground ABV to your favorite brownie mix (or cookie/cake/bread/etc.) and bake according to the instructions on the package. Depending on quantity of ABV you might want to add a little extra liquid to the recipe to compensate.

If you want to get a little more scientific/creative about it, here are my favorite instructions I have found for making canna-oil and related edibles:

Since you are using ABV you can skip the "decarb" step of the process. :)

I just made cocobudder, starting with 45g of nice herb into 1/2 a jug of Costco organic coconut oil. 3 tblspoons to do a QA check during straining and I'm ready for a nap!
