The Herbalizer

For herbalizer owners,

I am planning to purchase this, in addition to volcano and evo. But I am thinking about saving money and just purchasing one and my instincts tell me herbalizer. You can rig it to volcano valve set (making volcanos argument weaker, but volcano does seem to fill bags faster) and for the evo and use of concentrates, herbalizer seems easier to clean and won't break nails like evo. Is there anything I'm missing? Trying to curb my vas.

One thing that I see often is that evo owners are fanatics and once they purchase it, they don't want or need Anything else. vitolo, I am eager to hear your thoughts since you own all of them and from other FC members with experience with all 3 vapes. I assume there are a lot of ppl that fit that this criteria since they bought a $700 vape, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for help in this decision and my thought process is purchasing in 2 months.

I have a thought for those that say they only get good hits when the fan assist is on. Are you sure that your Herbie/bowl/whip is making a good seal and that when you suck in that air is only coming from through the Herbalizer unit? If you don't have a perfect seal then cool air not coming from the Herbie air path will intermix with the heated air giving you less of a hit.

When you turn on the fan assist you are forcing the hot air through the bowl vs sucking the hot air through which would explain why hits are good with the fan on but no good with it off.

I use this glass adapter with a hemp fiber filter and when it gets all nice and golden I put my Hydratube on the glass adapter directly on the herbie with no bowl. It is hard to make a good seal since it is just resting on there so when I suck air in I hardly get a hit. If I use the fan assist and blow the hot air directly on the glass/hemp that I had been using and then suck then HOLY **** the hits are massive.

Just found out the various brand of oven bags I have been using to replace the SqueezeValve, including Volcano bags, are only rated for 400°F. Melted or heat damaged bags have been observed in user replaced bags/SqueezeValves.

Makes me wonder what the Herbalizer OEM bag is rated?

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Received my unit yesterday...about two days from ship to receive thanks to the incomparable Randy and the PuffItUp crew. (All hail PuffItUp...”HAIL”)

I did have a problem however. Somewhere in transit the little bottle of “DeFunk” had come open and spilled inside the unit.Boy, is that stuff intense. It appears to have been mostly in the top (I mopped up several “wet” spots). The biggest casualty was the silicone whip which seems to have absorbed the stuff and smells and tastes terrible (now in a plastic bag on the back porch). The unit otherwise functions as it seems it should so the electronics must not have been damaged. Worked well with a bag...no extra taste or smell.

Randy, of course, immediately had a replacement whip in the mail to me.

First impressions are pretty much on a par with most other people...wow. Then, being throughly medicated you believe you are being analytical in examining it...although chances are you really don’t know what the f**k you are doing.

One or two tiny points. I wish it had some sort of magnetic (or otherwise) catch to hold the lid down. Mine doesn’t close all the way even without the whip in it. And I wish the display was tilt-able so you didn’t have to lean over it to read it.

I had never really been a bag fan, but was left with no choice because of the spill. These seem to be a more ideal size for me and an amazingly small amount of herb can easily generate a couple of bags.

Lots more experimenting to do.:brow:

Speaking of bags...I’m working my way through the thread from the beginning and also from about 50 pages back
(hadn’t expected to get one for another few weeks and figured I had plenty of time to catch up, but circumstances changed so I jumped on it). Lots for an old brain to absorb.

I’m having trouble pinning down the origin and necessary parts to the Solid Valve system from S&B as the Herbalizer bags are ridiculously expensive and lots of posts have been about this "new" system.

Can some kind soul point me in the right direction as to what I need (with links if possible)? A PM would, of course, be suitable.

Yes, I am familiar with the “Search” function, but just couldn’t come up with the right combo to elicit the specific information as to parts.

I expect when I get to try the whip I’ll have other observations. I’ve got a bunch of lengths of various hoses here, but not one of these...naturally. Bag is ok in the meantime as Randy’s speedy response looks to be here Monday!

:peace:

Looks like the plastic melted/warped from using the Volcano filling chamber. Now the Herbalizer bowl will not fit in place.

Ok ill might precise it for everyone. Just stop using solid valve for herbalizer. I was typing the post while the post above pushes my words.

The main reason is that there is not sealed to heat and you put the solid bowl on to the chasssis of herbie. thus heated air is escaping everywhere melting around all plastic parts, even the herbie chassis. I had to put the daisy oring to improve it.

Repeatedely making it is a danger for herbie.

PLEASE USERS STOP USING SOLID VALVE from S&B NOW!:peace::2c:

Herbie bowl is designed to have a heat funnel made in steel.

If you want to blow bags from your herbie, just grab a bit of high temp silicone tube to correct the seal of the stock bags. a bit of silicone tubing to put big diameters hose if you need.

The airflow killing is another thing by design, blowing onto screens is the game.

Herbie is a native beast.

The Volcano solid valve is fine paired with the Herbalizer bowl. Would you agree? I feel it is superior to the SqueezeValve in almost every way.

Please explain where is the load and how you pair herbie bowl in the solid valve?

I am talking about the solid valve bowl+bag utilized for herbie. I tried. and the whole solid valve bowl just sit on the chassis, i did not see perfect match and seal, no magnetic attraction neither.

The method reported by @Highland7 (few pages back) makes the the heat leak and heat the whole plastic around. solid filling chamber just sitting.

It needs a piece to restore the heat funnel like the stock herbie bowl. Then if you fix this issue, herbie will blow bags through solid valve.

Some people are attaching the Volcano bag to the Herbie bowl for filling. This will avoid the melting chassis.

My Herbie is out for delivery, finally!! It feels like I've been without it more than 3 weeks.

Hurry up UPS! I bet it doesn't show up until after 6PM, just because I want it to be here sooner.

Look as I said my plastic melted a tiny bit u use the Volcano chamber twice heats the plastic then the herbalizer bowl will fit again

This does not concern you at all that you are melting the plastic around your $700+ vaporizer and then remelting it again to make the Herbie bowl fit? I am so glad that I procrastinated getting this solid valve. I was so excited to have a real bag blowing system but now am worried about ruining my Herbalizer.

That just happened...
I purchased a solid valve after all the glowing recommendations in this thread. But I purchased it for my volcano. I had previously been using the easy valve. It is really nice but I don't think I would be using it on the plastic herbie. The volcano has a completely different design to accommodate it.

I ever using the solid valve non stop the bottom never even gets close to hot enough to melt... And I blow huge bags! I'll take a picture of my solid valve chamber later... Looks brand new and we have been using it like crazy

At the end of the day, you could still use your herbie filling chamber with the solid valve system to have leak free bags... U just have to hold it down

My solution would be to use the tools that were made for the Herbalizer.
Yeah I agree then
Jus use ther Herbie bowl paired with the solid valve... Still work flawlessly... You just have to hold it in place while filling a balloon

So @Highland7 do you use some oring or do you face magnetic attraction? just sitting on the chassis?
I haven't been using an o ring

Mine hasn't melted though? And I used it a lot... Maybe because I wait a minute before filling the next bag

I've just been using the Herbie bowl paired with the solid valve now .. Kinda scared of melting so no volxano filling chsmber
